As I have mentioned before, I live in a very old house. Don’t get me wrong, I love it. There is tons of character and charm – and I wouldn’t change it for the world. But because we live in such an old house, there are some issues that we have learned to just deal with. One of those is drafts. So many drafts. Thanks to BlindSpotz, we no longer have to deal with them – we can fix them! – because we know just where they are.
I am a big fan of sappy movies. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love action, comedy, and horror too, but if I am in the mood for a feel good movie, there is nothing else that will satisfy that craving. When Wonder hit theaters a few months ago, I really wanted to go see it. However, we just never got around to it. So I was thrilled to receive an advance copy from Lionsgate so I could finally watch this film.
When we found out that we were going to be at Walt Disney World during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, we were thrilled! We went a few years ago and have been dying to go back. When we booked our first trip as DVC members for the end of August, we thought for sure we were going to miss the 2017 party. But luck was on our side and it turns out we will be able to attend MNSSHP! Right away, we started planning our costumes. It took some debating, but we finally settled on one of favorite Disney XD shows – Star Vs. The Forces of Evil!
Let’s face it, kids aren’t always the perfect angels we wish they were. My girls are good kids overall, but they need incentive now and then. They fight like any siblings do and they are both just as stubborn as their mama. When my daughter started Preschool her teacher introduced her to something called DoJo Points. Basically the kids could earn points, or lose points, depending on their behavior. Parents can log in to an app on their phone and see when they gain/lose points and why. This was a great tool for her and her attitude immediately turned around. I wanted to do something like this for her at home, and that is how I came up with what we call, monster points.
I took my daughters on a Disney Cruise last August. We loved it so much that we immediately booked (while still on board) another Disney Cruise. We leave next week and I am so excited about it! One thing we did not do for our last cruise but decided we could not miss out on it this time is door decorations. My 5 year old loved walking around the ship and pointing out the different door decorations that we found. She enjoyed reading all of the names on them and looking at pictures that were put up. There are tons of options on Etsy and Amazon, but my girls love being crafty (even though their mama really isn’t). So we went ahead and decided to make our door decorations this time.
While on board the Disney Dream last August, I learned all about Fish Extender groups. What exactly is a fish extender? Well, outside your room on the ship is a message holder – in most cases it’s shaped like a fish (but can be a starfish or sea horse). This is there for Disney to place important communications to you, such as excursion tickets and notes from the Cruise staff. It is basically a mailbox for your room. A Fish Extender (FE) it is something that you hang off the fish, much like a pocketed organizer. By hanging the Fish Extender off of the fish the Cast Members can still use it for its original purpose.
My girls are super in to crafts. They love to create gifts for family members – especially around the holidays and for birthdays. So when I asked them if they wanted to come up with some fun valentines, they jumped at the chance. Something that they love almost as much as crafting is Welch’s Fruit Snacks. My oldest always takes one to school with her for lunch and my youngest enjoys one at home daily as well. We had an absolute blast designing valentines for our family and friends together – and snacking on Welch’s Fruit Snacks of course!
I am a huge Star Wars fan and am currently counting down the days until Rogue One: A Star Wars Story© TM Lucasfilm LTD is out in theaters. So imagine how thrilled I was to hear that Kleenex brand is partnering with Lucasfilm LTD to launch limited edition boxes featuring Rogue One: A Star Wars Story designs! I have two young girls (ages 3 and 5) which means we always have tissues around the house. When shopping, I look for fun designs on the tissue boxes to add some flair to our decor. Being a total Star Wars nerd means that I cannot wait to get these on display in my home! They hit shelves this Fall, just in time for cold season. When you are done with the tissues, or if you simply want to have some fun with these awesome Kleenex boxes, I have an easy DIY craft you are sure to love!
My family has been waiting for The Secret Life of Pets to come out since we saw the first teaser trailer. We have a pug ourselves and always wonder what she is up to when we leave her at home. This movie is sure to be cute, fun, and downright hilarious – just look at the stellar cast! To help celebrate the release, I have put together some super cute easy mask and puppet crafts featuring the animals of the film. Since this film is all about pets, I have partnered with Simple Solutionpet care products, to bring you these today.
Walt Disney Animation Studios’ comedy-adventure “Zootopia” has broken records worldwide, earning nearly $1 billion at the global box office and becoming one of the highest grossing original movies of all time. Critics and audiences of all ages have fallen in love with the wonderfully innovative mammal metropolis of “Zootopia” and the comedic chemistry of rookie rabbit officer Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) and scam-artist fox Nick Wilde (Jason Bateman). In fact, critics have hailed “Zootopia” as one of the best films of 2016 and Richard Roeper from Chicago Sun-Times calls it “One of the best animated films ever.”
