As you probably know, my family and I are Disney Vacation Club members. We visit Walt Disney World at least twice a year, and one thing we are always planning our trips around is Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. This is something that I recommend every one attend at least once. One of my biggest tips for going is to dress up! Trust me, you will regret it if you don’t. We went as Tangled characters one year, which was a hit with all the characters – especially Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder (yup, you can meet the Princes during the party!). This year’s party is fast approaching and we ran out of time to create our own looks, so Amazon it is. In case you are a last minute planner like me, here are some quick and easy MNSSHP costumes ideas!
We may not be seeing much of Hawkeye lately, but that doesn’t mean he isn’t a major part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). In fact, not seeing him in the Avengers: Infinity War trailers and posters could mean he is more important than we could even imagine. I have my own theories for him, and in less than two weeks we will know for sure. Sometimes I channel Hawkeye because I love archery. Where I live, there are not many places to shoot around, so I created my own target out of a few things I found in the basement. It was really easy, and did not take long at all.
Install Under Cabinet Lighting in Less Than 5 Minutes with Black + Decker PureOptics LED Lighting Kits!
My husband and I have been wanting to add under cabinet lighting in our kitchen for quite some time. Basically since we moved in. We have learned that updating our home every now and then can do wonders for it. Sometimes, it can even make a room feel like a whole new home! We had been told that under cabinet lighting can be a pain to install and requires all sorts of tools – but that is not true with Black + Decker PureOptics LED Lighting Kits! It took less than 15 minutes to install this lighting in our kitchen and we were THRILLED with the results!
Just the other day my husband and I purchased a new coffee pot. Ours was getting old and we had read about one that featured a burr grinder so we decided to upgrade. When we got it home, it was just a tad too tall for our counter. At first, we were totally bummed, but then, we thought a coffee bar might work well in our kitchen. We started pricing them out and – long story short – we ended up building one. In about 24 hours. And it came out amazing. Surprisingly, it was a lot easier than we expected it to be. Here is how you can create your very own coffee bar – in just 4 easy steps!
As I have mentioned before, I live in a very old house. Don’t get me wrong, I love it. There is tons of character and charm – and I wouldn’t change it for the world. But because we live in such an old house, there are some issues that we have learned to just deal with. One of those is drafts. So many drafts. Thanks to BlindSpotz, we no longer have to deal with them – we can fix them! – because we know just where they are.
I am a big fan of sappy movies. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love action, comedy, and horror too, but if I am in the mood for a feel good movie, there is nothing else that will satisfy that craving. When Wonder hit theaters a few months ago, I really wanted to go see it. However, we just never got around to it. So I was thrilled to receive an advance copy from Lionsgate so I could finally watch this film.
When we found out that we were going to be at Walt Disney World during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, we were thrilled! We went a few years ago and have been dying to go back. When we booked our first trip as DVC members for the end of August, we thought for sure we were going to miss the 2017 party. But luck was on our side and it turns out we will be able to attend MNSSHP! Right away, we started planning our costumes. It took some debating, but we finally settled on one of favorite Disney XD shows – Star Vs. The Forces of Evil!
Let’s face it, kids aren’t always the perfect angels we wish they were. My girls are good kids overall, but they need incentive now and then. They fight like any siblings do and they are both just as stubborn as their mama. When my daughter started Preschool her teacher introduced her to something called DoJo Points. Basically the kids could earn points, or lose points, depending on their behavior. Parents can log in to an app on their phone and see when they gain/lose points and why. This was a great tool for her and her attitude immediately turned around. I wanted to do something like this for her at home, and that is how I came up with what we call, monster points.
I took my daughters on a Disney Cruise last August. We loved it so much that we immediately booked (while still on board) another Disney Cruise. We leave next week and I am so excited about it! One thing we did not do for our last cruise but decided we could not miss out on it this time is door decorations. My 5 year old loved walking around the ship and pointing out the different door decorations that we found. She enjoyed reading all of the names on them and looking at pictures that were put up. There are tons of options on Etsy and Amazon, but my girls love being crafty (even though their mama really isn’t). So we went ahead and decided to make our door decorations this time.
While on board the Disney Dream last August, I learned all about Fish Extender groups. What exactly is a fish extender? Well, outside your room on the ship is a message holder – in most cases it’s shaped like a fish (but can be a starfish or sea horse). This is there for Disney to place important communications to you, such as excursion tickets and notes from the Cruise staff. It is basically a mailbox for your room. A Fish Extender (FE) it is something that you hang off the fish, much like a pocketed organizer. By hanging the Fish Extender off of the fish the Cast Members can still use it for its original purpose.
