As you probably know already, I am a HUGE Marvel fan! One of the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe films is Thor: Ragnarok – and it is one of my favorites! I was lucky enough to walk to red carpet at the LA premiere and trust me, this movie is amazing. You probably already know this, but I interviewed some of the cast and filmmakers as well, so be sure to check those out! Thor: Ragnarok is finally coming to digital release TODAY (February 20th), and in order to celebrate, I have come up with a fun and delicious recipe for you. I brainstormed with Amy over at As The Bunny Hops for this one while we were discussing our #CountdownToInfinityWar fun.
Did you know that February is anime month? My family is big into anime, from Pokemon to Attack on Titan, we love it all! Cowboy Beebop is one of the first television shows I ever binged. That show helped my love for anime grow – and my husband and I passed that love on to our daughters. They might only be 5 and 6, but they enjoy shows like Yo Kai Watch and Pokemon more than most other shows they watch. Not to mention, they collect all of the toys and games.
I am a big fan of sappy movies. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love action, comedy, and horror too, but if I am in the mood for a feel good movie, there is nothing else that will satisfy that craving. When Wonder hit theaters a few months ago, I really wanted to go see it. However, we just never got around to it. So I was thrilled to receive an advance copy from Lionsgate so I could finally watch this film.
The highly anticipated latest film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Black Panther, is finally almost out in theaters! On February 16th, travel to Wakanda as you get to know T’Challa, the King of Wakanda. Personally, I enjoy his story lines in Marvel comics, so I am thrilled to see where this movie takes us. I am totally hoping for a lot of set up for Avengers: Infinity War. To help celebrate Black Panther’s release, The Hopping Bloggers have come together to bring our readers a Black Panther prize pack worth $150 that everyone will want to win!
One of my favorite movies is Bad Moms. I went to see it in theaters with a group of girlfriends and have seen it several times since. I own it on blu-ray and put it on every few months. It makes me laugh so hard, even after having seen it multiple times. The movie totally captures the truth about moms – and that is why I am really excited about the sequel, A Bad Moms Christmas. There was a lot going on at the time it was in theaters, so I didn’t get to go see it. Universal Studios sent me an advance copy of it on blu-ray and I could not wait to check it out.
You might know that my husband and I are huge Star Wars fans. I think I have said this before but we actually walked out at our wedding reception to the Imperial Death March. We have both been eagerly awaiting Solo: A Star Wars Story, and the trailer was FINALLY released this morning! To say it was amazing is an understatement. All of the actors look fantastic (I mean Donald Glover as Lando! MIND BLOWN!).
Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and so it is time to start brain storming about gifts. Candy and flowers seem to be the go-to for just about anyone, but does everyone really like that? For me personally, I am on a diet so candy is a no go, and flowers die too quickly in my mind. I put together some items that would make great gifts for the whole family.
If you haven’t figured out that I am a giant (pun intended) Marvel fan. Ant-Man is one of my favorite comic book characters, especially the Scott Lang version. I think that Paul Rudd plays him perfectly, so I have been really excited to see what Ant-Man and The Wasp has in store for us! It feels like forever that we have known about this film, but we haven’t seen much of anything – UNTIL THIS MORNING. The Ant-Man and The Wasp trailer finally dropped, and it was well worth the wait!
Every weekend, my family has a family movie night. We take turns picking a movie and cuddle up on the couch with some snacks. It is one of my favorite times of the week. I know that eventually my daughters will want nothing to do with my husband and I on a weekend night – or any night for that matter – and so I savor it. One movie we watched recently was Napping Princess. I was excited to get an advance copy, and so were my girls. We love Anime in our house, so we were eager to watch it. To be honest, I was a little worried it might be a bit adult for them, but they really enjoyed it.
As I am sure you know, I am a big fan of movies. It is hard with young kids, but my husband and I try to go to the movies at least once a month. Of course, for most Disney films, we can take them along with us. 2018 is going to be one incredible year – for the entire Smith family. From Marvel films that I could have dreamed of 10 years ago, to re-imaginings and sequels of a couple of my favorite films – it is going to have it all.
