As you likely know by now, I have a thing for superheroes. They are kind of a major part of my life. So of course, The Incredibles is one of my favorite Pixar movies. I saw it theaters when it came out and when my husband and I honeymooned at Walt Disney World, we were so excited to meet Mr. and Mrs. Incredible. We had not met before this movie came out, but it was a favorite of each of ours before we even met. So when Incredibles 2 was announced a while back, we both starting counting the days until it’s release! Then something really exciting happened – Disney & Pixar invited me to check out Pixar in person, as well as some footage of Incredibles 2! The event takes place April 3rd to the 5th, so be sure to follow along with #Incredibles2Event.
If you have kids, then you know shopping for some holidays can be a pain. There are so many gift ideas that are candy, but is that really what is the best for them? The short answer is no. Don’t me wrong, I am not judging anyone who gives their kids candy (heck, I do it!), but we try to fill their Easter baskets with as little candy as possible. This year, we did a lot of shopping around and here are ten great Easter gifts for kids – that are not candy!
There is no bond quite like the one between mother and child. The moment I birthed my children, I knew that. But did I know that the whole time I was pregnant? Nope. I was terrified – I mean, TERRIFIED – that I would not love my children the way so many mothers do. I was afraid that I would not know how to take care of them, and I was afraid that I would be a bad mom.
In case you missed it, I told you a little bit ago about new episodes of Trolls: The Beat Goes On hitting Netflix. This is one of my family’s favorite shows to watch together right now. We end up signing along and laughing with each other. It truly is a fantastic way for our family to bond – and I think it will be for yours too! In order to help celebrate the new episodes that were released earlier this month, I have teamed up with DreamWorks to bring you an awesome prize pack! You can win two soundtracks plus an adorable Trolls figure!
It is no secret that I cannot wait for Avengers: Infinity War to hit theaters on May 4th. I am a bit of a Marvel Fan Girl, in case you did not know, and have been counting the days for years. As a big comic book fan, I have seen this coming for quite some time. If you are not someone who reads comics, let me suggest at least five that you should pick up before heading to theaters. Trust me, this will help you walk in to the film prepared – but won’t give anything away!
As you likely know already, I am a HUGE Star Wars fan. My girls and I watch all of the Star Wars shows – and they have even seen some of the movies. We are slowly working our way through them, as they are only 5 and 6, but I love their excitement over them. One of our favorite Star Wars shows to watch as a family is LEGO Star Wars: The Freemaker Adventures. Well, season 2 was just released on DVD, and I consider it a must buy! To help celebrate it’s release, I have teamed up with Star Wars to bring you the chance to win an amazing $125 Easter Basket totally themed for Star Wars!
Let me start this off by saying this post is not sponsored in any way. Recently I have been feeling extremely overwhelmed. A variety things have been happening in my life which have put a lot on my plate at once. It got to the point where I was so stressed out about my to-do list that I didn’t even know where to start. I was literally staring at my list and my computer for an hour. Barely moving. Doing nothing. That is when I realized I needed to change something or I could potentially be stuck in a rut for a very long time. If you are ever in the same situation, here are some tips that helped me dig my way out.
My daughters are pretty darn creative. I say they take after their father in that department. I will let you know in on a little secret (that most of my friends know) – he basically does all my craft and recipe posts. And if you see one that is pretty sub-par, that is because I did it. Our girls love to build and create things with their hands – and when they discovered Maze-O they were thrilled! There are many games that we play that help them hone those skills, but this one is a new favorite in our house!
This past week I finally saw Black Panther in theaters. I know, I know. I might as well turn in my Marvel fan girl card right now. We were at Disney when it came out and we had opted not to take the girls. After seeing it, I am really glad we made that decision. When we came home my husband had a lot of time to makeup at work and had to work late nights and the weekend. Then the following weekend, we had plans to go but had to cancel our sitter when the stomach bug hit our house hard. Finally, my husband and I made it to a Monday matinee. I am so glad that we saw this movie because it made me feel all sorts of feelings – from laughter, to sadness, and even shame.
We are a gaming family. I mean, we have basically every gaming console ever made (yes I have the original NES still – although it is in the attic and not set up – but that is another story). When we first heard about Scribblenauts Showdown, we knew it was likely be an instant hit with our family. We love battling it out with each other and are constantly playing games like Mario Kart, 1, 2, Switch, and Bomberman. All four of us have some competitiveness about us, so this game was right up our alley! Luckily for us, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment gave us a copy to check it out the day it came out – and we fell in love right away!
