Monday night was the World Premiere of Avengers: Infinity War in California. I was lucky enough to attend along with 24 other amazing bloggers. After the movie, we headed to the after party to mingle with the cast and filmmakers. I ran into Kevin Feige, the President of Marvel Studios, who I have talked with on several occasions. We discussed the movie, the feelings it gave me, as well as my predictions for Avengers 4 (stay tuned for a full article about that). He also told me that a certain actor had to leave the theater during a certain scene.
Warning: Major Avengers: Infinity War Spoiler Below!
During one of the most emotional scenes in Avengers: Infinity War, Thanos (played by Josh Brolin) kills Gamora (played by Zoe Saldana). In order to retrieve the soul stone, Thanos learns he must sacrifice the soul of someone he loves. There are not many people in the universe that Thanos loves, perhaps Gamora is the only one. In the scene, Gamora laughs saying the universe denied him what he wanted, because he loves no one. As he turns around, with a tear in his eye, she discovers that tear is for her. It is that moment that she realizes what is about to happen.
I will not lie, I was sobbing pretty hard as I watched Thanos drag Gamora to the edge of the cliff and throw her off. It was very reminiscent of when he took her hand when she was a young girl, as he murdered half of her planet’s inhabitants. Zoe Saldana and her husband left the room after this scene – which I am sure is because it was so hard to watch. I can only imagine how it feels to watch a character you have played for so many years perish. Especially like that. It is a hard enough scene for fans, but for the actress who plays her, it must be near unbearable. Don’t worry, she did return a few moments later to watch the rest of the film.

When I found out I would be one of the first people to watch Avengers: Infinity War, my world stopped. Honestly, I was afraid I was going to pass out. What a huge honor it would be to see this movie surrounded by the filmmakers and the cast at the World Premiere! Infinity War is likely going to be the biggest movie of the year – after all, it is 10 years in the making. I thought I was ready, but there is honestly no being ready for a movie like this. You can read my spoiler free review for all those details, but getting to the theater was half of all the awesome to be seen that night!
Marvel Memorabilia
The lights, the people, the BUZZ – things were electric on the Avengers: Infinity War red (purple) carpet. Not to toot my own horn, but I have previously been to three Marvel red carpet premieres, but this, this was whole new beast. I could literally feel the excitement. Every one there could not wait to watch this movie – myself included. For the first time ever, this premiere was being held at three theaters in Hollywood – all connected by the giant red (purple) carpet. This giant carpet was split into rooms and rooms of Marvel memorabilia – tons of costumes and props. All of them equally amazing. And I wanted to take the time to inspect them up close.

Celebrity Spottings
It is no secret that this was going to be a huge movie, so I am sure there were endless numbers of ticket requests from celebrities. The cool thing was, they were just like the rest of us Marvel fans! I saw many taking photos with the memorabilia that was on display. That doesn’t surprise me because the stuff we saw was so cool, even basic fans would be excited to see them in person! Luckily, I did get a couple photos with some celebrities on the carpet.
I spotted Henry Simmons from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. on the Infinity War Carpet!Martin Starr, who plays my favorite character Gilfoyle on Silicon Valley!
After Party
The night we arrived in LA we were surprised with an addition to the itinerary – for the first time ever press was invited to the after party! Normally, this is not an option with Marvel movies, so I was really excited about it. To mingle with the cast after the movie was something I cannot even describe efficiently. Hearing them talk about how they felt about scenes in the movie and the final product, it was amazing. There really is no other way to say it. Talking to Kevin Feige, the President of Marvel Studios, about my reaction and even my theories about Avengers 4 – who else can say they’ve had a moment like that. I also briefly talked with Michael Rooker, Henry Simmons, and Taika Waititi. I just had to ask Taika about the What We Do In The Shadows TV Show.He said things are moving along nicely!
I ran into Henry Simmons again at the after party and he wished me a happy birthday!Micheal Rooker and I chatted about Yondu and tattoos at the after party.Ross Marquand from The Walking Dead told me that my Guardians of the Galaxy tattoo was amazing, and that pretty much made my night!I was excited to ask Taika Waititi about the What We Do In The Shadows TV Show – he said it is coming along!We rang in my birthday at midnight at the Avengers: Infinity War after party.

I was one of the first human beings in the world to see Avengers: Infinity War. Man, it feels weird (and awesome) to say that. Last night I attended the World Premiere of Infinity War with the cast and filmmakers. I spent over two and a half hours watching what will clearly go down as one of the best superhero films to ever be made – and I am still processing it. So much happened. Tears were shed, laughs were laughed, and don’t even bring up the chills – so many chills. This Marvel fan girl had literal goosebumps the majority of the movie. There were moments I screamed, gasped, and I might have jumped out of my seat. You can walk in to Infinity War expecting it to be the best Marvel film ever – and you will STILL be blown away.
Pay attention guys. And whatever you do, don’t purchase a drink at the theater unless you have a strong bladder. The last thing you want to do is get up and miss something. I haven’t even processed everything I have seen yet. Every single scene is an important one to the story. This movie starts off strong and just keeps going. There is never a lull, never a dull moment. I took in so much information, and I am positive that I missed things. I am really looking forward to going back and watching Infinity War again. Epic. It is EPIC.
No spoilers here (don’t worry, I will be posting a spoiler review next week), but every hero who is back, is a favorite of mine. And they are all really important to the story. With this many cast members, it would be easy for some to lose their place. You know, someone walks in and waves “hey guys” and then mossies on about his (or her) business. But we don’t see that here. Everyone we see has a purpose. Nothing seems forced. As you know, some characters have not met each other yet. Have no fear – those interactions were done right, if you ask me. One of my favorite scenes is when a certain group of heroes meet the Guardians of the Galaxy.
The acting is on point as well. I mean, many of these actors have been playing their character for years. But there are no slips, no mess-ups, no stumbles. Every one is perfection. EVERYONE. It was great to finally see a lot of Thanos in action and I assure you, Josh Brolin fills those big shoes! Yes, this movie is long, but it will not seem long enough. I was not distracted once, and in fact, I felt like I had only sat down an hour before when the credits started to roll.
There is no cheap humor, there is no cheap love story, and there are no cheap deaths. Oops, I said no spoilers in this post. But I will say if there are deaths, which I neither confirm nor deny, they aren’t done cheaply. But hmm….are there deaths? Gee, I just don’t know. Looks like you will have to head to theaters to find out for sure. Oh, and be sure to sit through the credits – you wouldn’t want to miss anything, would you?
A Reaction From the Red Carpet
If you watch my weekly YouTube Live session, then you know I promised an immediate reaction for my followers. As soon as my phone was unlocked and turned back on, I hit record and started spewing all my thoughts. Trust me, it was hard to keep spoilers from slipping out.
Well, that is it guys. I am afraid if I keep typing, I just might spill the beans on something. Long story short, this is not a movie you can wait until the DVD for. I promise you – you NEED to see this in theaters. Even if you are a basic Marvel fan – see it in theaters. You will not regret it!
In closing Avengers: Infinity War will go down in history as the best super hero movie ever made. Well, until Avengers 4.

Tonight I attended the year’s biggest World Premiere – Avengers: Infinity War. All I can say right now is that I laughed, I cried, I had chills, and I am counting the seconds until Avengers 4!! Some of my favorite bloggers and others weighed in on what they saw tonight, and I wanted to share with you guys. So here it goes, the initial reactions for Avengers: Infinity War. The general consensus seems to be that everyone is still processing it. Be sure to see it in theaters this week!!

Maya the Bee is one of my daughters’ favorite movies, and so they were thrilled when they found out a sequel was coming.
Maya, the little bee with a big heart, is back for another adventure. She is easily my 5 year old daughter’s favorite movie character right now. We have seen Maya the Bee at least 100 times, if not more. But now, we can add another movie to our rotation. Maya The Bee 2: The Honey Games makes its buzzworthy debut on DVD and Blu-ray on May 1, 2018 from Shout! Factory Kids. When I handed our advanced copy to my daughter she literally screamed at the top of her lungs and did a dance. I think it is safe to say she was a tad excited.
Of course we watched it that night. I don’t think she could have waited much longer than the hour we did. Maya The Bee 2: The Honey Games emphasizing the importance of friendship, responsibility, and courage. I highly recommend this movie for any family with young kids because of the importance of the lessons that it teaches.

After a slow harvest season, the very survival of the hive is threatened. Maya, and her sidekick, Willy, go to Buzztropolis, where the Empress invites them to participate in the Honey Games. But if they lose, the hive will have to give the Empress all of their summer honey! Needless to say, Maya and Willy’s teammates are neither enthusiastic nor athletic, but Maya remains positive and exclaims that “every bug has a talent!”
Can Maya and Team Poppy win and secure her hive’s future? Only if Maya is able to gain new friends and learn about teamwork, accountability, and overcoming preconceived notions!

As a mom of two young kids, one thing I am very concerned about is tobacco and cigarettes. They see them everywhere and my husband and I have been trying our hardest to teach them about how unhealthy they are. We even sometimes over exaggerate with words like “ew” and “gross” when we are near someone smoking. That might seem a tad rude to the smoker, but it seems to be helping out daughters associate negative feelings with cigarettes. I mean, did you know the average age of a new smoker in New York is 13?! 13!! That is awful, if you ask me.
Taking this all in to consideration, I was very pleased to hear about the Seen Enough Tobacco Campaign that Tobacco Free New York has launched because kids really have seen enough. I know mine sure have!

Money Talks
The tobacco industry spends an insane amount of money just trying to get our children to pick up cigarettes or chewing tobacco. I bet the number would shock you – it is over a half a million dollars. All of that spent to market its products, 90% of which is in store marketing. Cigarettes are placed behind counters, sure, but kids can still see them. They have brightly colored packaging and eye catching ads – there is no way kids will miss them.
My husband and I shouldn’t have to spend our time explaining the dangers of tobacco use to our young daughters, but we do. They see cigarettes and chewing tobacco everywhere, and they don’t know naturally that is just is not OK. We can only hope they listen to us over big tobacco.
Let’s Keep These Girls Happy & Healthy!
Enough Is Enough
Tobacco use leads to many health problems. As parents, we need to make sure we explain this to our children. But, like I said, we shouldn’t have to. It’s time to protect them and put an end to youth smoking and other tobacco use! That’s the message Tobacco Free New York State is working hard to communicate to millions regionally and statewide with its “Seen Enough Tobacco” campaign. Stand with me in telling big tobacco how we feel about what they are showing our young generation.

The New York State Department of Health, Bureau of Tobacco Control funds Tobacco Free New York State to increase support for New York State’s tobacco-free norm through youth action and community engagement. This may come as a total shock to you – but I am a big Marvel comic books fan. I’m kidding – that should not shock you. And if it does, well then you just don’t know me well enough yet. Stick around and you will figure me out. Over the years I have collected a lot of comic books, but X-Force has always been in my top 5. My favorite run is probably volume 3, which was 2008 to 2010, or Uncanny X-Force, which was the one right after that. The teams were amazing and filled with some of my favorite characters.
In the final Deadpool 2 trailer, he introduces us to the X-Force team that we will see come to the big screen alongside him. While it is lacking some of my favorites like Wolverine, Psylocke, and X-23 (will we see them, maybe?!?! Likely not due to pesky rights….), 20th Century Fox selected some of the best. Bedlam, Domino, and Shatterstar (and Peter) are confirmed in this trailer, but there are still a couple mystery members. Although I think I have them figured out.
Bedlam
Bedlam will be played by Terry Crews (although I was totally hoping he would be George Washington Bridge but, I will survive). He is a new-ish addition to the X-Force, so clearly 20th Century Fox is pulling from all sorts of story lines here – which I can dig. He is super strong and can affect the human brain’s neural chemistry. Making him a pretty cool character if you ask me.
Domino
Domino is played by Zazie Beetz, who I adore in the show Atlanta. If you have never seen it, you are missing out. Anyways, she has always been one of my favorite Marvel characters, so I was excited to see her. Her power? Basically she is lucky. Like REALLY lucky. She can basically escape any situation unscathed. In the final trailer, Deadpool tries to convince us that luck is not a super power. But trust me, it is. Domino always comes in handy on the X-Force missions and I cannot wait to see her in action on the big screen!
Shatterstar
Shatterstar is part of the original X-Force line-up, and a pretty badass dude. He is more or less just a really strong fighter. In the comics he has a little bit of history with Cable, as Mojo took them both captive at the same time. But that is a story for another day. One of my favorite storylines is when he and Rictor start dating. I just love them together in the comics so maybe, just maybe, he will meet his boyfriend in this movie. Shatterstar is played by Lewis Tan in Deadpool 2.
Peter
Peter, played by Rob Delaney, doesn’t have any powers. As he explains in the trailer, he just saw the ad. This is a classic Deadpool move to bring him in. He kind of reminds me of Deadpool’s friend Bob that hangs around throughout many of the comics, and was even referenced in the first film. He could also be Peter Wisdom – who is a mutant and a spy in the comics – just saying!
Mystery Members
Of course we know Bill Skarsgard is part of the team, but we still have not been given a name for him. Based on his costume, I am willing to bet he is Zeitgeist whose ability is basically puking acid. Seems right up a Deadpool movie’s alley, doesn’t it? He was killed pretty quickly in the comics but I hope he sticks around a little longer in the film. We also see (who I can only guess is) Surge again, without confirmation. Her ability is pretty cool – she absorbs electricity and then can discharge it at will. I am looking forward to seeing her kick some butt!
Trailer Reaction
Go ahead and watch my reaction to the final Deadpool 2 trailer. I promise you it is entertaining – I even dance a little bit. I couldn’t help it. The music took me over.
See, I told you it would be fun to watch! This trailer is everything! I especially enjoyed the Thanos and DCU references – and of course the reference to Josh Brolin’s role in The Goonies. Now get ready to see Deadpool 2 in theaters onMay 18th – you really do NOT want to miss this one!
When we were on our most recent family vacation at Disney World, the newest Disney Channel Original Movie came out. I remember my husband and I cuddling up with our daughters on our bed at the Polynesian and watching Zombies. My girls are in to spooky things for some reason, and so this movie was right up their alley! Not too scary, but featuring one of their favorite things – ZOMBIES! Honestly, my husband and I really enjoyed this movie too.
What I love so much about this movie is that it teaches you to be yourself. Everyone is unique in their own way, and you should totally own who you are. I think this is a very important lesson for young kids to learn – and one reason I was willing to let my young daughters watch this movie. They are 5 and 6 years old and watched Zombies all the way through, without losing interest. They learned a lot from it, and it was totally appropriate for them, which is one of the reasons I love Disney so much.
About Zombies
Disney’s “ZOMBIES” is a music- and dance-filled story set in the fictitious world of Seabrook, a cookie-cutter community brimming with perky conformity 50 years after a zombie apocalypse. Today, the zombies pose no threat, but are required to live in Zombietown, an isolated, rundown community infused with their unique creative spirit. When zombies are finally allowed to enroll in Seabrook High School, the charming, charismatic zombie Zed, who is determined to play football, meets freshman Addison who dreams of being a cheerleader — the ultimate form of status in Seabrook. Addison takes a lot of flak for befriending Zed and his zombie friends, but comes to learn that zombies and cheerleaders aren’t so different after all.
