Get ready for AOMG’s first girl crew: Check out our interview with Keyveatz as they talk subculture, music, and being proudly “messy.”
The K-hip-hop scene is about to get a serious jolt of raw energy. AOMG, the powerhouse label founded by Jay Park that has shaped the industry through hitmakers like Gray, Loco, and Simon Dominic, is officially entering a new era. Under their AOMG 2.0 rebranding initiative, “MAKE IT NEW,” the label has unveiled its very first girl crew: Keyveatz.
Rejecting standard idol formulas, this collective of five “Messy Girls” – NEWY, UM JIONE, KANG YESEUL, SON JUONE, and KIM YUNA – is rooted deeply in underground culture and subculture. Bursting onto the scene with their pre-debut double single Key Beats, featuring the high-octane tracks “Key Beats” and “Catch My Breath,” Keyveatz is already turning heads with their unpredictable individuality and fierce hip-hop DNA.
Ahead of their official debut and highly anticipated festival run, Mama’s Geeky sat down with the crew to talk about their identity, their chemistry, and what it means to forge their own path.
Meet Keyveatz, AOMG’s First Girl Crew

Q: What did it mean to you to become AOMG’s first girl crew?
SON JUONE: We’re really proud to be AOMG’s first girl crew. We want people to get to know us with our music and we want to make our own way without a set road.
Q: How would you describe the group’s identity in your own words?
UM JIONE: ‘Messy.’ It means not hiding the imperfect part of who we are. And that makes us feel real.
Q: What do you think makes Keyveatz different from other rookie girl groups right now?
KANG YESEUL: I think the biggest difference is that we’re not a group but we’re a ‘crew’. I think that is the biggest difference. The reason we’re crew is that we understand the culture of hip hop and we all have the same goal and try so hard to approach to the goal.
Q: Was there a moment during training or preparation when you realized, “this group is really special”?
KIM YUNA: There were so many times when we stayed in the practice room after training and just freestyled together for fun. Those moments reminded me how much we all love music. Being around the members made everything more exciting and creative, and that’s when I realized this team is really special.
Q: Is songwriting something members want to explore in future releases?
NEWY: Yeah sure! We all have stories and ideas we want to share.
