Like so many others, I grew up watching the Muppets. I remember when Muppet Babies first came out, and I watch it all the time. I was so excited to see that it was being brought back this year so that I could enjoy it with my young daughters. This show airs on Disney Junior and is something we watch together as a family. My girls and I were thrilled when the new DVD, Muppet Babies: Time To Play! arrived at our front door. Bring yours home today!
About Time To Play!
Almost 30 years after the Muppet Babies first won the hearts of kids and families around the world, Disney Junior’s reimagined “Muppet Babies” chronicles the hilarious playroom antics of a young Kermit the Frog, Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo and Animal – plus a brand-new Muppet Baby, Summer Penguin. My daughters LOVE Summer Penguin. I was a little nervous about a new baby joining the show, but I kind of love her too. Under the watchful eye of Miss Nanny, the Muppet Babies use their imaginations to embark on countless adventures that take them to the farthest corners of the universe and demonstrate to young viewers the power and potential of imaginative play. Muppet Babies: Time To Play! arrives homes on Disney DVD August 14th.

As you probably know already, I have been eating a Keto Approved diet since January. Sure, I cheat a little here and there, like while at Disney, but I have lost over 40 lbs and am loving my new life. I have shared some Keto recipes and tips on here in the past, but many people have asked me what to buy during that first shopping trip.
So I put together a list of things that I think every person tackling the keto way of eating should have on hand. Alongside these crucial items, you might want to have a look at some Keto Supplement Reviews to help you decide which ketogenic supplements will give your body the great health boost that it deserves.
TIP: When checking carb content, always subtract dietary fiber from carbs to get your net carbs.
Create A Support System
There are many Keto Facebook groups that you can join for support and recipes. Of course it helps to have the entire household eating only keto approved so the temptation is not there. This truly is a lifestyle change, and it can take a lot of will power. Especially if you love bread like I do.
I don’t even miss the pasta, it is the bread. As a general rule I try to stay under 20 carbs a day. Once I get to my ultimate goal weight (only 15 lbs to go!) I will up that to 50 – and 70 while on vacations. I don’t really work out anymore but I should, and I plan to start that up again once the kids are in school.
Is there an item I missed on this shopping list?
Comment below and let me know!
This Keto approved creamy Tuscan chicken over zoodles recipe is always a hit at dinner! It takes no time at all, is super easy, and tastes amazing. I promise, this will be your new go-to weeknight dinner!
Ingredients
1.5 lbs chicken breast (cubed)
1.5 cups heavy cream
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
1.5 tablespoons garlic seasoning
2 to 3 zucchinis (noodled)
1 cup cherry tomatoes
1 cup spinach
I use a spiralizer to make the zucchini noodles myself, however, you can purchase them already noodled from the store. For me, it was worth the investment to purchase one since we have them so often. Pre-made zucchini noodles can be a bit pricey, depending on where you are shopping.
Directions
Cook cubed chicken, remove from pan.
Combine heavy cream, chicken broth, and grated cheese in pan.
Cook over medium heat, whisking consistently until thickened.
Add halves cherry tomatoes and spinach.
Cook for 2 to 3 minutes or until spinach is wilted.
Add zucchini noodles.
Cook for 2 minutes.
Serve hot.
Prep Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 15 minutes
Total Carbs: 7 carbs per serving Servings: 5 – 6

As you probably know, my family and I are Disney Vacation Club members. We visit Walt Disney World at least twice a year, and one thing we are always planning our trips around is Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. This is something that I recommend every one attend at least once. One of my biggest tips for going is to dress up! Trust me, you will regret it if you don’t. We went as Tangled characters one year, which was a hit with all the characters – especially Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder (yup, you can meet the Princes during the party!). This year’s party is fast approaching and we ran out of time to create our own looks, so Amazon it is. In case you are a last minute planner like me, here are some quick and easy MNSSHP costumes ideas!
The Incredibles
Everyone loves the best superhero family out there – The Incredibles! This is a costume that you will see a lot of walking around Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party, because it is a really easy one. All you need are some Incredibles shirts and maybe some masks, if you are feeling adventurous.
Zombies
I don’t know what it is like in your house, but ever since the release of The Disney Channel’s Zombies, my girls have been running around singing the songs. “What could go wrong with a girl and a zombie…” is basically always stuck in my head. Grab some ratty clothes and green hairspray and ta da! You are now a zombie from that movie. If you want to be Addison, the cheerleader, just grab some pink pants, pink top, and a pink jeans jacket.
Monsters Inc.
Who doesn’t love the monsters from Monsters Inc. and Monsters University? They are so popular that there are tons of costumes available online. And you know there are enough characters for the whole family to join in the fun! Just consider the time of year you are going to the party. If it is in August, or even September, you might want to consider not wearing such a heavy costume. Florida is hot after all.
Toy Story
Another popular movie with a wide variety of characters – Toy Story! Woody and Jessie are easy enough without costumes – just dress like a cowboy or cowgirl!
The Muppets
I love that the Muppets are a part of Disney. I grew up watching them and they are still some of my favorite characters – to this day. Animal, Grover, Fozzie… all of these have costumes available for purchase.
Star Wars has so many different shows, and movies, making it a great idea for a family costume theme. Go with old school, new school, or some where in between, there are plenty of options out there. You can even be BB-8!
Finding Nemo
One of my all time favorite movies is Finding Nemo. I remember going to see it in theaters in college and just falling in love with it. With the success of Finding Dory recently, these characters are popular again. Choose from costumes like Nemo, Marlin, Dory, Hank, and more!
If you know anything about me, you know I am a bit of a Marvel fan. With Marvel being a part of Disney, that opens up a world of new costume ideas. Thor, Black Widow, Hulk, even the Guardians of the Galaxy are fair game for group costumes!

About three years ago, two members of the Fantastic Four went missing, and were presumed dead. Sue Storm-Richards and Reed Richards sacrificed themselves and Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm were left wondering if they were still alive. Fantastic Four #1 came out this week and while it didn’t have the exact moment we were all waiting for, we know it is coming. This comic book made me cry from the moment I opened it up (more on that in a minute) and I highly recommend picking it up. We get two fantastic (no pun intended) stories, and I can’t wait for more. Be warned, spoilers are ahead.
Steve Ditko Tribute
I opened up this comic book to a Steve Ditko tribute. Yup, it immediately had me sobbing. We get a great shot of Steve’s pages 1-5 of Amazing Spider-Man #33 (1966). We also get some quotes from other Marvel legends about Steve. It is emotional. And it leads in to an emotional story.
Fantastic Four
We open this story with Ben and Johnny in different locations in the city. All of a sudden in the sky, we see the Fantastic Four flare signal. Johnny thinks this means Reed and Sue are back, Ben does not. Johnny rushes to the site of where the flare was sent off and sees that it is just a couple of kids. Of course, Johnny is furious, but Ben forgives them. He has no hope that Reed and Sue are alive. In fact, this makes him realize that he wants to marry Alicia. He proposes and she accepts. Cue the tears again.
Ben and Alicia ask Johnny to meet them, where they tell him the news and Ben asks him to be his best man. Johnny refuses saying that only one person should be his best man, Reed Richards. More tears. Johnny yells for Reed and Sue to give him a sign that they are still out there. When nothing happens, he seems to finally accept they are gone. Cut to Reed and Sue working on a device. They flick a switch and tada – we see a giant 4 in the stars. Johnny says it’s about damn time and …. yup, I cry again. Looks like next week we will get the reunion we have been waiting years for!
Doctor Doom
Who would the Fantastic Four be without Doctor Doom? It would feel strange wouldn’t it? Well, Doctor Doom is back too! His story in this comic book is short and sweet. A rebel leader comes to find him to ask him to save them. He puts on the mask and goes to free his subjects from tyranny – all by himself.
Of course, these are just quick recaps of what happened, but there are many more details (and awesome) in the pages of Fantastic Four #1. Head to your local comic shop and pick up a copy. While you are at it, add it to your pull list. You don’t want to miss when the first family of Marvel gets back together next month!
Thank you to LD Entertainment for inviting me to LA to cover the Dog Days premiere. All opinions expressed in this interview are 100% my own.
While in LA for the Dog Days World Premiere, I found out I was going to be talking with some of the cast. I was super excited to be chatting with the stars of the film: Nina Dobrev, Vanessa Hudgens, Adam Pally, Eva Longoria, Tone Bell, and the Director (who also has a small role in the film), Ken Marino. This was a group interview which shows us just how much chemistry these guys really have. It was so much fun, Adam, of course, had us cracking up. But Nina got in some pretty great zingers as well. Read on about 10 fun facts I learned about the movie and the cast, in this great interview!
The dog stars at the World Premiere of LD Entertainment’s, “Dog Days”
The Dogs Were Cast Before The Humans
Something that I found really interesting is that all the dog actors were chosen before the human cast of the film. Nina let us know this during the interview. “Fun fact: every single one of the dogs was cast before any of the cast members. Because I tried, believe me. I met with Ken.” Apparently Maverick was a little too late to the party to be part of the doggie cast.
Ken told us a bit about the dog hiring process, and let us know the dogs hired are all rock stars. “The animals came from this great dog trainer, Mark Harden. When we cast the dogs, one of the things I asked him, because we were moving so quickly, was who are your rock star dogs. The first dog we cast was Adam Pally’s co-star Charlie and he said this dog is wonderful, odd, quirky, and goofy. We cast him, and then we cast all the other dogs based on his look. They all had something special. They were easy to work with.”
Nina Snuck Her Dog In The Background of Scenes
So even though the dog cast was full when Nina joined the cast, it didn’t stop her from sneaking Maverick in to the background of pretty much every scene. “That didn’t stop me from sneaking her into the back of every single shot.” Eva then joked Nina was a stage mom, to which Nina replied “100 percent.” Now I can’t wait to see Dog Days again, because I am going to have my eyes peeled for Maverick!
Vanessa Played with the Dogs Between Set Ups
When asked the hardest part about working with the dogs, Vanessa immediately jumped in with the perfect answer. “Not being distracted and wanting to cuddle them all day. They’re just so cute and they’re so well behaved and so smart. In between set-ups I would sneak away and try to play with the dogs.” I would be right there with you girl!
Ken added in “dog breath“, which made us all crack up. Tone Bell then added in that they always had doggie mints on hand for that. To which Adam replied. “Here’s a hot tip. Doggie mints don’t work. Flat out. That is a product that lies to you.” Again, we were all rolling.

Tone Bell Fell More In Love With Dogs While Filming
In the interview, Tone Bell admitted he doesn’t have a dog. But he said he “definitely fell more in love with the furry friends during the process and after. All my scenes were with Nina and Maverick is like my niece now.” Nina laughed and added, “it’s true.” How sweet is that?
Adam Pally is a Huge Fan of Ken Marino
When the cast was asked how they got involved in the project, Adam Pally jumped in by admitting it was because of Ken Marino. “Ken is one of my idols from when I first started watching comedy and getting into comedy. From The State, Wet Hot American Summer, and everything he has done since. We had worked together a little bit on Happy Endings. I jumped at the chance – even if this was a cat movie I would have done it. That’s saying a lot because cat people are crazy.” Tone Bell let us know that he also signed on because of Ken.
Eva Longoria Loves Working With An Actor/Director
Eva said that she also signed on for this movie because of Ken. “Ken and I did a pilot together. I called him and was like ‘if you don’t put me in this movie, I will tweet those photos’. So I blackmailed him, he had to put me in the movie. It is so great to have an actor director because they speak your language. There are so many directors that can’t articulate what they want. I love Ken’s kind of funny; he’s my kind of funny. I knew I would be in good hands. Even though I have nothing funny in the movie. I’m the tear person.”
Vanessa Hudgens Sees Herself in Her Character
We asked the cast if any of them related to their character in Dog Days. Vanessa let us know that she really does relate. “Me personally, when I woke up at 27, I felt like I had no idea who I was and what I was doing with my life. That’s kind of where you meet Tara. I think that we, in a sense, are all looking for our greater purpose.”
Nina added in that she relates to her character Elizabeth as well. “Everyone seems put together, but we are all quietly falling apart on the inside. She is constantly trying to prove to the world that she is fine. Even when she gets heartbroken, she won’t even admit to the dog therapist that she is talking about herself. She doesn’t trust anybody. Once you have your heart broken it isto trust again. Until you find the person that makes you believe.”

Adam’s Dog Partner REALLY Liked Him
Of course we just had to ask if there were any doggy mishaps on set. Nina immediately jumped in with a pretty good zinger that Adam Pally joked we all would have thought he would be the one to throw out the line – “No, only three or four dogs died, right?” Ken did let us know about something pretty funny that did happen on set though, “The dog who plays Charlie, every once in a while got a little excited in some of the scenes and took it out on Adam – on his leg.” You know Adam never misses a beat, so he added in “I wouldn’t say ‘took it out’, I would say he showed his affection. I’m not gonna press charges or anything.”
It Is Important to Ken to Make A Family Friendly Movie
Ken let us know how important it was for him to make a family friendly movie. “Right now the world is a crazy place. I had just come off of directing How To Be A Latin Lover, which is a family movie. What was nice about that movie was I able to bring my kids into the editing room. Talk to them about the movie and what jokes they liked. That just made me want to do another movie that I can share with my children. This movie came along and I just liked all of the relationships.”
“I’m a big dog lover. We have two rescues at home. I thought it was a good time to do it. I feel like right now it is important to have movies where you can bring your whole family and escape the madness out there. Watch a movie that is funny and might make you cry once or twice. It’s for adults and kids. My friend described it as a Pixar movie – jokes for adults and stuff for kids in there.” I have to agree, this movie made me cry – straight up ugly cry – at least five times. This movie has heart, but is also hilarious, which can be pretty rare.
Nina Felt Alone Before She Rescued Maverick
The story of Nina and Maverick is a bit like the movie, Dog Days. A little bit heartbreaking and a lot heartwarming. “I was a cat lady for 18 years. I got her when I was 9, and when she passed away when I was 27 it was the first time that I had ever truly been alone, I realized. Then I also realized how co-dependent I was and that I needed a furry friend to get through my days. I’ve always loved dogs but because of my cat couldn’t get a dog. I started following all the rescue shelters on Instagram. I was at Coachella scrolling through my feed when Maverick popped up – her and her brother. I went immediately. I knew Maverick was the name, but I fell in love with her and she was a girl but that didn’t change my prospective.” She also added that Maverick has her own Instagram account, and told us all to check it out.
Dog Days is in theaters August 8th and trust me, you don’t want to miss it!
From acclaimed production company LD Entertainment (The Zookeeper’s Wife, Jackie, and Megan Leavey) and Director Ken Marino comes Dog Days. Dog Days is a hilarious and heartfelt ensemble comedy that follows the lives of multiple dog owners and their beloved fluffy pals around sunny Los Angeles. When these human and canine’s paths start to intertwine, their lives begin changing in ways they never expected.
Cast: Nina Dobrev, Vanessa Hudgens, Eva Longoria, Finn Wolfhard, Adam Pally, Rob Corddry, Tone Bell, Jon Bass, Michael Cassidy, Thomas Lennon, Tig Notaro, Ron Cephas

I have to admit, I went in to Dog Days thinking that it would be a cute movie. I figured I would chuckle a little bit and be entertained, but I never expected to really love it. Dog Days exceeded all of my expectations. It is a hilarious, heartfelt, family film that is a must see for any dog lover. And if you don’t love dogs going in to this film, you will coming out of it. In fact, you might just run to your nearest rescue and adopt one. We have two dogs, and I now want to rescue all the puppies! I am so excited to take my family to see it after it opens in theaters August 8th.
Humor
The first scene of this film hooked me. I ended up laughing more than I expected to laugh this entire film. It was so funny, and something I could totally relate to. Right then I thought wow, I am really going to like this movie if it keeps this up. And it did. There is a lot of humor for both (older) kids and adults. Of course, there are a few dog fart jokes – a must if you ask me – that really hit the mark. There are a couple of cuss words, but nothing major in my opinion (a-hole is one of them) – I still plan to take my 7 year old.

Heart
Dog Days tells the story of several different people. While their paths do cross here and there, it doesn’t seem forced at all. It flows well. Each story that is told, of course, involves a dog. And with a story about a dog, you know there is going to be heart. Some times the stories are funny, sometimes they are heartfelt, and sometimes they are heartbreaking. There were moments in the theater that I was straight up ugly crying. I became so invested in these families and their pets that goes to show how incredible these actors are.
Cast Chemistry
Which brings me to their chemistry. Since there were different stories being told, not many of them worked together while filming. But the ones that did hit it out of the park. Eva Longoria’s character and her story was one of my favorites. It really tugged at my heart strings. The chemistry between her and Rob Corddry was amazing, and I could literally feel their pain and need for their newly adopted child to love them.
Adam Pally’s chemistry with his dog co-star (Charlie in the film) was hilarious! Nina Dobrev and Tone Bell’s story was a great one too. And another one I could relate to. It also made me ugly cry. Hard. An emotional moment was quickly followed up by a funny one, which I totally appreciated. Come to think of it, all of the actors in their stories were phenomenal, with real on screen chemistry. I believed their relationships and struggles and that is what makes a good film.
Final Thoughts
Overall, Dog Days is an emotional and fun movie that I think the whole family can enjoy. Yes, there a few choice words but nothing I think kids will pick up on. If you are a dog lover this is something you really need to see. If you don’t own a dog, well, start preparing your home for one because you might just stop at the rescue shelter on the way home. It is the year of the dog after all.

Welcome to my pull list for new comic book day (8/8/18). This week there are a LOT of comic books that I need, want, OK need. Don’t miss out on my live chats over on YouTube to find out what I am loving and not loving. This is something I do weekly, on Wednesdays (AKA new comic book day) at 1pm EST. We usually also get super off topic and talk about random things. It is a good time, I promise! I look forward to seeing you there.
Marvel
Amazing Spider-Man #3: I am SO in to this run right now. I had been waiting for a place to pick Spidey back up, and this was it.
Champions #23: After reading Infinity Countdown, I was hooked on the Champions. What a fun team. This comic is great.
Exiles #6: I have heard this just keeps getting better and better. I might have to pick it up.
Fantastic Four #1: They have had some bad movies, but they kick ass in the comics! I cannot wait for them to come back in this new series!
Spider-Man Annual #1: I have a habit of collecting annuals even if I don’t read the series. Gives me an understanding of what is going on in the Marvel Universe as a whole. I suggest it.
X-Men Blue #33: The one X-Men comic I haven’t been reading. But I have heard great things.
DC
Catwoman #2: I love her.
Sandman Universe #1: It is always a good idea to pick up a number one and check it out if you think you might like it. The perfect place to start.
Suicide Squad #45: I mean, if the movie didn’t ruin all Suicide Squad for you, go for it.
Supergirl #21
Superman #2
Titans #24: With the new show coming out, it might be nice to get a background on the characters if you need or want it.
Wonder Woman #52
Others
My Little Pony Friendship is Magic #69: My daughter loves this series.
Optimus Prime #22

Thank you to LD Entertainment for inviting me to LA to cover the Dog Days premiere. All opinions expressed are 100% my own.
When I got invited to attend the Dog Days premiere in California, I was really excited. I have two adorable dogs and I thought the movie looked super cute (stay tuned for a full review tomorrow!). One of my favorite parts about this event ended up being the pre-party on the green carpet at the premiere! It was so much fun. Whoever planned it did a great job because despite the heat, I had a fantastic time. From a candy bar, to dog themed food, to an actual dog pit – there were so many amazing things to do!
Themed Food
You can’t have a pre-party on the carpet without delicious food! At the Dog Days premiere there were LA Street Dogs, Pretzel Wrapped Hot Dogs, and Corn Dogs. I am a big hot dog fan so this was right up my alley. Pretzel wrapped hot dogs are a weakness of mine so I was really fighting hard not to have one (thanks Keto). There was also a super fun candy and cake pop bar!
Dog-rific Activities
If you have a dog, then you would have loved being at the Dog Days red (but literally green) carpet. They had a station where you could create a dog tag for your furry friend – with lots of tag options to choose from! They also had a puppy pit in the center of the party area. Yes, a puppy pit. Here you could play with lots of adoptable dogs and trust me, I wanted to take a few of them home. I fell in love with one named Tess, which is so close to my name it must have been fate. There were also balloon animals – correction, only dogs, of course! My personal favorite though was the photo booth! My friends and I had a blast in there!
Ken Marino, Director of Dog Days.
Celebrity Sightings
No movie premiere is complete without some celebrity sightings. I was so happy to have more time to chat with some of the cast – all of whom are super nice and genuine people. We spent quite a bit of time talking with Ken Marino, who is the director and also makes a quick cameo in the film. I could tell how proud he is of this film, as he should be, and how much he wants it to succeed. I also ran into some actors who were just there to enjoy the film, like Adam Scott. Check out these photos to see who else I saw.

My daughters LOVE Elena of Avalor. Every time we go to Disney World, which is a lot, they just HAVE to meet her. My youngest will binge watch her show over and over. I think she actually knows every word by heart. Every single word – of the series. So when we were sent an advance copy of the latest DVD, Realm of the Jaquins, we were thrilled. It was opened and put in the DVD player immediately. And then it made its way to the mini-van where it is now on repeat. This DVD is available on August 7th – be sure to pick it up!
About Elena of Avalor: Realm of the Jaquins
Join Crown Princess Elena as she soars through a hidden gateway into Vallestrella, the mysterious, dazzling domain of the jaquins. On the way there, she accidentally releases a mythical forest sprite that could endanger Avalor! Now Elena must find the jaquins’ magical, legendary Sunbird Oracle to save the kingdom!
My youngest daughter said that this is now her favorite DVD. While she loves the episodes, she usually will watch the 10 bonus shorts over and over and over. She is always giggling while watching them, which is super adorable. Those shorts alone are a reason to pick up this DVD for your little Elena fan!
