Welcome to my pull list for new comic book day September 19th, 2018 (9/19/18). You probably know that I am quite the comic book collector. This week has a ton of comics that I have been waiting for coming out! I am really excited about a lot of the titles that will be out today – which ones will you be picking up? Here are the ones that are catching my eye…
Halloween is fast approaching and as I asked my daughters what they wanted to be, my oldest kept saying a character from a book. Imagine our surprise when we received an email offering us a Dr. Suess Halloween costume to check out. Well, my daughter was over the moon when it showed up because it was a character from one of her favorite books – Green Eggs and Ham! This costume is available only at Spirit Halloween, and here is why you should pick it up.
Welcome to my pull list for new comic book day – September 5th, 2018 (9/5/18). You probably know that I am quite the comic book collector. There is just something about cuddling up with a good comic that has given me comfort for years and years. This week there are some pretty awesome ones coming out – which ones will you be buying?
My girls are starting to read books on their own now, so we have been collecting a lot of new ones. Ones with harder words, but words that they can still figure out on their own. The book Fiona the Hippo was sent to us this month and quickly became one of my 7 year old’s favorites! There are no exceptionally hard words, and at this point it is memorization for her. She just loves sitting down with her little sister and reading to her! This is the perfect book for young readers.
Welcome to my pull list for new comic book day (8/15/18). You probably know that I am quite the comic book collector! I love reading them, and talking about them! Don’t miss out on my live chats over on YouTube to find out what books I am loving and not loving. This is something I do weekly, on Wednesdays (AKA new comic book day) at 1pm EST.
About three years ago, two members of the Fantastic Four went missing, and were presumed dead. Sue Storm-Richards and Reed Richards sacrificed themselves and Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm were left wondering if they were still alive. Fantastic Four #1 came out this week and while it didn’t have the exact moment we were all waiting for, we know it is coming. This comic book made me cry from the moment I opened it up (more on that in a minute) and I highly recommend picking it up. We get two fantastic (no pun intended) stories, and I can’t wait for more!
Welcome to my pull list for new comic book day (8/8/18). This week there are a LOT of comic books that I need, want, OK need. Don’t miss out on my live chats over on YouTube to find out what I am loving and not loving. This is something I do weekly, on Wednesdays (AKA new comic book day) at 1pm EST. We usually also get super off topic and talk about random things. It is a good time, I promise! I look forward to seeing you there.
Since so many people have asked me what comic books I pick up every week, I decided to put out my weekly pull list. Of course, I will still be discussing these over on YouTube every new comic book day at 1pm EST, so don’t miss those fun live chats. You guys should KNOW I am a Marvel girl, so I will be letting you know the comic books I am picking up from Marvel, but I will be sure to mention other notable releases, even if I don’t plan to get them myself.
One of my favorite times with my daughters is story time. From the moment they were born, I would cuddle them and read to them. Well, times are now changing in the Smith household as both girls are reading to me at story time. Sure, I help out with a few words here and there, but they do the majority of the reading, all thanks to I Can Read books. I would be lying if I said it doesn’t make me tear up every now and then. Them reading to me just proves that they are growing up, something I thought I was ready for, but I am not. For a chance to win I Can Read! books of your own, make sure you check out my giveaway at the end of the post.
Ant-Man and the Wasp hits theaters everywhere July 6th and I am BEYOND excited! I have always been a fan of Scott Lang in the comic books (in fact, I like him more than Hank Pym but SHHHHH! Don’t tell anyone!). If you are in to comic books (or even if you aren’t), here are some that I think are important to read before seeing this movie. Since there are two Ant-Mans in the comics, these will help you get to know Scott – and in one case Hank and Janet!
