I have told you before I am sure, but Carol Danvers has been one of my favorite Marvel ladies for a long time. Back when she was Ms. Marvel, she was amazing, and I was hooked on her story lines. And then she became Captain Marvel, which was insanely cool. She is a total badass. Super strong. She can take down Iron Man guys. And HARD! With the Captain Marvel movie hitting theaters this March, all fans should be familiar with some story lines. Here are the five comic books that I recommend reading before you go see Captain Marvel.

Disney’s Artemis Fowl has inspired this delicious Pop Tart Milkshake recipe, even if it doesn’t look so delicious, it is!
I was always a reader growing up, and that is something that I have instilled in my daughters since they were born. We are always adding new and exciting books to our home library, and nothing quite excites my girls like stories that they are featured in. There are several customizable book options out there, but the coolest one by far that I have come across is Kabook! Why? Well not only is your child included in the story, you are given a list of photos to take of your children so that they are illustrated in the story.
Rosie Revere and the Raucous Riveters The Questioneers Book #1 is a great children’s book that teaches girl power lessons!
You probably know this already, but I have two young daughters. They are 5 and 7 years old – and I might be a little biased, but they are little smartie pants. These girls are pretty brilliant, even their teachers have said so. There are many gifted and talented programs in the NYC area and they use the Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test® Second Edition (NNAT-2) to asses the general intellectual ability of kids. This test is for grades kindergarten through 12th – and these workbooks from The Test Tutor are a great way to help your kids study for it.
I have been reading to my daughters since they were in my belly. Now, we all read together. I have been blown away by the great readers that they have become over the last year or so. And I have to thank Ready-to-Read books. Not only are their books placed in to different levels, which encourages my girls to strive to get to the next one, there are also some great resources on their website. Find out how I have encouraged my girls to increase their reading level – and enjoy doing it.

Get to know 12 Queens and one not-quite Queen in the Star vs. the Forces of Evil: The Magic Book of Spells PLUS so much more!
Another New Comic Book Day has arrived and this week there are a lot of comics I am looking forward to! Here is my pull list for September 26, 2019, along with a few sprinkled in that I think comic book fans would like to know about. As you probably know by now, I am a Marvel girl. But I am trying to expand my comic knowledge and start some DC stuff. If you have any suggestions for me, please, pass them along!
I have been reading to my daughters since they were in my womb. It is something I started while pregnant and have continued to do every single day and night. Now, my daughters read to me a lot of the time, which is bittersweet. Recently, Disney Hyperion sent us three of their new books, and these have all become fast favorites in our home. I think they are all books that every family should own – and here is why!
