Simon & Schuster is partnering with me for a giveaway! All opinions expressed are 100% my own.

My oldest daughter loves to read. She certainly takes after her mother as I always had my nose in a book at her age. We recently discovered the Keeper of the Lost Cities series, and she breezed right though it. It really was THAT good. There are seven books so far, with the eighth, titled Legacy, arriving in bookstores everywhere November 5th, 2019.
If your child(ren) have not yet read this series, it is the PERFECT summer reading binge! In fact, I think we are going to read through them again. Most kids can probably finish one book a week – which is a great goal to set. This will help cure summer boredom, stop that summer slide right in it’s tracks, and be a fun family bonding experience if you decide to read together.
The author, Shannon Messenger, is convinced of this herself. She is doing something really cool for the summer – the #KeeperReadAlong. I’ll tell you more on that a little later.

About Book 1: Keeper of the Lost Cities
Twelve-year-old Sophie has never quite fit into her life. She’s skipped multiple grades and doesn’t really connect with the older kids at school, but she’s not comfortable with her family, either. The reason? Sophie’s a Telepath, someone who can read minds. No one knows her secret—at least, that’s what she thinks…
But the day Sophie meets Fitz, a mysterious (and adorable) boy, she learns she’s not alone. He’s a Telepath too, and it turns out the reason she has never felt at home is that, well… she isn’t. Fitz opens Sophie’s eyes to a shocking truth, and she is forced to leave behind her family for a new life in a place that is vastly different from what she has ever known.
But Sophie still has secrets, and they’re buried deep in her memory for good reason: The answers are dangerous and in high-demand. What is her true identity, and why was she hidden among humans? The truth could mean life or death—and time is running out.

This summer is the perfect time to catch up on the series before the newest book is released. I know my daughters love to read in their free time – so we are totally going to take advantage of this time to get ready for Book 8!
So we were super excited to hear about the #KeeperReadAlong, hosted by the author herself – Shannon Messenger – starting June 10th and ending July 29th. Each of the 7 weeks will be dedicated to a book in the series, starting with book 1 of course.
On Mondays, Shannon will kick off the week of reading, plus answer fans’ questions about that book the following Sunday. PLUS there will be more events and fun surprises throughout the week!
Be sure to use the hashtag – #KeeperReadAlong – so you don’t miss anything!
