The New Finding Dory Trailer Has Me Laughing & Beyond Excited

Finding Nemo is one of my all time favorite movies. I still watch it at least once or twice a month with my daughters – if not more. We are constantly quoting it (“mine, mine, mine!”) in my family. At dinner, when out and about – well, pretty much always. We have family movie night every Sunday and Finding Nemo is a top pick from all of us. So naturally when the news of Finding Dory finally dropped, we were thrilled! I have been so excited every step of the way (seeing the posters, the teaser trailer, the voice cast, and now the new trailer). I know that I will be with my family in theaters on June 17th when it releases – and I hope you will be too!

My family love My Little Pony. Our house is filled with stuffed ponies, pony figures, pony clothes, and pony movies. My daughters are probably the biggest My Little Pony fans on Earth (and my husband and I are right behind them). We have the TV episodes set to record on our DVR and we are always sure to watch them as a family. Ask my husband about any pony and he can tell you – he has all the cutie marks memorized! So of course we were thrilled when Hasbro and Shout Factory Kids teamed up to release yet another DVD containing the TV episodes! It means we get to clear some space on the DVR and that the girls have a new DVD to play on long car rides in the van. My Little Pony Friendship is Magic: Friends Across Equestria contains 5 amazing episodes – including the 100th episode of this series (Slice of Life). I highly recommend this show to anyone and this DVD contains some of the best episodes (although they are all amazing!). Create A Disney Bathroom with Foaming Hand Soap

In our house we are HUGE fans of Disney! Frozen and Star Wars are two of our favorites from them and trust me, we love to show off how we feel about them. Every single time we walk out our front door my 3 year old starts belting the words to “Let It Go!” (I imagine this is because of all the snow we have here in Upstate New York but it could honestly be for any reason). When we went to Disney World in October, they were thrilled to meet Anna & Elsa (and OK mommy was too). I am bummed that we missed Kylo Ren (hope he is still there when we go next time), but the Star Tours ride was my 4 year old’s favorite.

Because of their love for Star Wars and Frozen, I wanted to surprise them with Frozen and Star Wars “bathroom makeover” for all of our bathrooms. I set out our new SoftSoap Foaming Hand Soap featuring Star Wars and Frozen characters in every bathroom in the house. Each time they walked in to one they were excited! They just couldn’t wait to wash their hands! In their bathroom, I even added their new lightsaber toothbrushes and Star Wars figures to the display – and that got them hyped up for hygiene!

We all absolutely love this hand soap! I enjoy having it on display so everyone knows our love for Frozen and Star Wars, but I also love how it works. My hands feel really clean afterwards and it is not harsh on them at all. That is really important in the winter especially – I know my hands get dry and cracked all the time.

I love The Jungle Book. I grew up watching it and have loved sharing it with my girls as well. Since I found out about the new one, I have been waiting patiently for it! It comes out right before my birthday (April 15, 2016) and I cannot wait to check it out! The footage that I saw at the D23 Expo this past summer was incredible – and I know it is going to blow everyone away! The voice cast is amazing with actors like Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson, and Christopher Walken. Having them voice some of my favorite characters of all time is, well, pretty awesome! Strawberry Shortcake

Disney’s Pete’s Dragon Teaser Trailer is Amazing (See It Here)

This past weekend the teaser trailer for the reimagining of Disney’s Pete’s Dragon was released and all I can say is wow. The poster was released just a few days ago and I knew at that moment that the movie was going to be just as good as I hoped. The poster is incredible (see it below) and now the trailer has me even more excited. I must admit, I did see some of this footage at the D23 Expo last summer and so I knew what to expect. But it was so amazing to be able to watch it again (and again and again) this time. Pete’s Dragon was one of my favorite movies growing up and I have since watched it with my daughters. They are just as excited as I am about the reimagining and I am planning on taking them to go see it when it flies into theaters everywhere August 12th, 2016!

Synopsis
A reimagining of Disney’s cherished family film, “Pete’s Dragon” is the adventure of an orphaned boy named Pete and his best friend Elliott, who just so happens to be a dragon. “Pete’s Dragon” stars Bryce Dallas Howard (“Jurassic World”), Oakes Fegley (“This is Where I Leave You”), Wes Bentley (“The Hunger Games”), Karl Urban (“Star Trek”), Oona Laurence (“Southpaw”) and Oscar winner Robert Redford (“Captain America: The Winter Soldier”). The film, which is directed by David Lowery (“Ain’t Them Bodies Saints”), is written by Lowery & Toby Halbrooks based on a story by Seton I. Miller and S.S. Field and produced by Jim Whitaker, p.g.a. (“The Finest Hours,” “Friday Night Lights”), with Barrie M. Osborne (“The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring,” “The Great Gatsby”) serving as executive producer.

For years, old wood carver Mr. Meacham (Robert Redford) has delighted local children with his tales of the fierce dragon that resides deep in the woods of the Pacific Northwest. To his daughter, Grace (Bryce Dallas Howard), who works as a forest ranger, these stories are little more than tall tales…until she meets Pete (Oakes Fegley). Pete is a mysterious 10-year-old with no family and no home who claims to live in the woods with a giant, green dragon named Elliott. And from Pete’s descriptions, Elliott seems remarkably similar to the dragon from Mr. Meacham’s stories. With the help of Natalie (Oona Laurence), an 11-year-old girl whose father Jack (Wes Bentley) owns the local lumber mill, Grace sets out to determine where Pete came from, where he belongs, and the truth about this dragon.

Season Finale of THE X-FILES airs Monday, Feb. 22 @ 8/7c on FOX!
Conclusion of Six-Episode Event Series Features Guest Stars Joel McHale, Robbie Amell, Lauren Ambrose, Annabeth Gish and William B. Davis

I have been loving The X-Files Six-Episode Event. I am so sad that it is only 6 episodes because it is incredible! My husband and I have looked forward to tuning in these last few Monday nights. It has made us both want to go back and watch the entire series again. If you have been watching it, then you know what I am talking about. I honestly think that newcomers to the series are enjoying this just as much (without discovering some of the Easter eggs that have been planted throughout it). The finale airs tomorrow – will you be tuning in?

Episode Information:
The investigations that Mulder (David Duchovny) and Scully (Gillian Anderson) previously began with conspiracy theorist and web-TV show host Tad O’Malley (guest star Joel McHale) seem to have awakened powerful enemies. A widespread panic begins as people all over the country suddenly start falling gravely ill, and Scully must look within to try and find a cure. Meanwhile, Mulder confronts the man whom he believes to be behind it all, but another figure from Mulder and Scully’s past may prove to be the key to their salvation in the all-new “My Struggle II” season finale episode of THE X-FILES airing Monday, Feb. 22 (8:00-9:01 PM ET/PT) on FOX.

Deadpool Movie Review (+ A Marvel Cameo You Probably Missed)

I went to see Deadpool this weekend and I just loved it. I am a huge Deadpool fan – his comic has been one of my favorites since as long as I can remember. If you read the comics, you know that he is the only comic book character that actually knows he is a comic book character. I love this about him. It makes for great narration and some incredible Deadpool moments.

The film is done in the same way which makes it, well, perfect! And if you know anything about Deadpool then you know Ryan Reynolds was born to portray him. The casting was incredible. The jokes and references were spot on (“McAvoy or Stewart? These time lines are confusing.“) and I couldn’t have been more pleased with this film.

If is not your typical superhero movie because Deadpool is not your typical superhero. I cannot stress enough to not take your young kids to see this. I don’t care how “grownup” you think they are. If my child was under 15 or 16 years old, they would not go see this film.

There is not just a lot of gore and sexual innuendos – there are sex scenes, a strip club scene, and lots of cussing. However, in my opinion, it is done very well. With a pair like TJ Miller (Weasel) and Ryan Reynolds starring, you know you are in for a good time. The entire movie is a joke, in a good way. I don’t think I have laughed this hard throughout a movie in a long time.

Overall though, the characters they chose to be in this film were great – and I for one am looking forward to Deadpool 2.

Will we see Cable? For those of you that are not comic book fans, Deadpool and Cable had a whole series together that spanned several years – and they are the ultimate team. If you want to laugh your little heart out, go see Deadpool – and do yourself a favor, stay until after the credits.

POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD

I know, I promised the Marvel cameo that you probably didn’t notice (no, not Stan Lee). This could be considered a spoiler – however, pretty much only comic book readers will get it. If you read the comics, you know Hydra Bob. He was one of my all time favorite characters in the Deadpool series. He is a total coward and Deadpool manipulates him time and time again in to helping him. They do end up becoming friends however, and I just love their relationship.

Toward the end of this film, when Wade is battling some bad guys, he stumbles across someone he calls “Bob” and states that he had not seen him since TGI Fridays in Jacksonville – I am 99% sure this is supposed to be Hydra Bob! I was so excited and I don’t think anyone else in the theater got the reference besides my husband and I. I am not sure that the studio actually has the rights to Hydra Bob, so that is most likely why they just called him Bob and then move on. Still, pretty amazing.

Pete’s Dragon Teaser Poster (+ Motion Poster) Released

When I was at the D23 Expo last summer I learned about the reimagining of Disney’s Pete’s Dragon. We saw some early footage and WOW, I was instantly excited. I must admit that I was a little nervous at first because I love the original Pete’s Dragon. I have watched it more times than I can count and it is one of my favorite all time movies. So of course it can be scary when a company decides to reimagine something you love. But from what I have seen, this movie is going to be incredible! There is a stellar cast and I cannot wait for it to come out this summer (August 12th to be exact!). The poster that Disney just released is amazing and has me even more pumped for the movie (and check out the motion poster below!).

Be sure to catch the debut of the brand new teaser trailer during “Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60” on ABC Sunday night at 8:00PM EST! I, for one, can’t wait for it!
