My daughters love Mickey Mouse. Maybe some of their mom’s love for Disney has rubbed off on them – OK, it definitely has. We have always been a Disney family and so they love all things Mickey Mouse and friends! Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is one of our favorite shows in our home – it is something we watch together nearly every day. So when the brand new Mickey Moust Clubhouse DVD, Sport-y-thon, arrived at our door, I had two very excited little girls. In fact, I think it was in our home less than 5 minutes before it was open and in the DVD player. My 4 year old immediately noticed the Exclusive Golden Mickey Medal that comes with every DVD and put it on. She was so excited to have a medal just like Mickey and his friends.

Nature Cat tells the story of Fred, a house cat who dreams of exploring the great outdoors. In each episode, once his family leaves for the day, Fred transforms into Nature Cat, “backyard explorer extraordinaire”. Nature Cat can’t wait to get outside for a day of backyard nature excursions and adventures, but there’s one problem: He’s still a house cat with no instincts for nature itself. With the help of his animal friends, Nature Cat embarks on action-packed adventures that include exciting missions full of nature investigation, “aha” discovery moments and humor, all while inspiring children to go outside and “play the show.” Nature Cat’s adventures take him through his family’s big backyard, into the woods, and then into the “four corners” of his natural world: parks, ponds, caves, gardens, marshes, ravines, swamps, canyons, nature preserves and mountains.

The universe’s greatest protector will rise again in the all-new series DREAMWORKS VOLTRON LEGENDARY DEFENDER, premiering June 10, exclusively on Netflix. Witness the rebirth of the legend with this ambitious re-imagining of the fan-favorite science-fiction saga, promising galaxies worth of action, comedy, and adventure, as good battles evil in an intergalactic war ten thousand years in the making. These series will launch with an hour-long origin story called “The Rise of Voltron,” and will be followed by 10 episodes.

To celebrate the DVD debut release of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir this week, I have some amazing coloring sheets featuring the show’s two main characters. Perfect for a superhero super fun weekend activity for the kids! My girls LOVE this show and so they were thrilled when I handed them these pages and some crayons. My 4 year old couldn’t wait to go to school and show her friends!

Preschoolers can climb aboard Trolley and join Daniel Tiger as he goes for a checkup, gets a shot, and helps Mom Tiger when she’s not feeling well. When Daniel visits the doctor for his checkup, he is “one stripe scared” about going. To help Daniel feel better, Mom Tiger talks with him about the visit and sings “when we do something new, let’s talk about what we’ll do.” Other helpful strategies that Daniel and his friends and family use in select stories featured on the DVD include: “when you get hurt, find a grown-up to help you feel better” and “when you’re sick, rest is best.”

The Real O’Neals is one of my favorite shows on TV right now. It airs on ABC Tuesday nights and is well worth a half hour of your time. It is hilarious and I love how they tackle real topics with humor. While in LA a couple weeks ago, I was able to watch two upcoming episodes (one of which is airing tonight) as well as chat with the cast and Executive Producers.

Peanuts, the brand-new animated series based on one of entertainment’s most iconic brands, heads to Boomerang on Monday, May 9. For the first time, the individual Peanuts print comic strips come to life in vignettes filled with humor and heart for the whole family. New episodes premiere daily at 11:30 a.m. ET/8:30 a.m. PT. The series captures the spirit of the timeless adventures of Charlie Brown’s gang and his wildly imaginative, supremely confident and world-famous beagle, Snoopy. The watercolor art style, textured backgrounds and framing deliver a viewing experience that will excite both classic Peanuts enthusiasts and new fans alike.

One of the coolest experiences of my life was checking out the wardrobe department and set of ABC’s The Catch. If you have not been watching this show, you are really missing out. It is still early in the first season, so do yourself a favor and catch up on it. The cast is incredible and I just love the story line. It is very unique and I enjoy tuning in every Thursday night to see what the writers have in store for us.

While in LA for the Captain America Event, one of the things we got to do was be the first group to screen The Disney Channel’s upcoming original movie The Adventures in Babysitting. This film is actually Disney’s 100th Original Movie (has it been that many already?). It was inspired by the popular 1980s movie of the same name but it is “twice the babysitters, twice the fun.” It stars Sabrina Carpenter (of Disney Channel’s hit comedy series “Girl Meets World”) and Sofia Carson (of the hit Disney Channel Original Movie “Descendants”).

My daughters are big into science. Of course, having an engineer for a father probably has something to do with it. They are constantly trying to figure out why things work and what happens when they do certain things. They are always experimenting and asking questions – definitely good personality traits to have. I just knew that they would like Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab when it arrived and I couldn’t wait to put it on for them. The night that it arrived, I surprised them telling them they could watch one show together at bedtime – and boy did they love it. It actually ended up being poor planning on my part because fits ensued quickly as I told them we had to turn it off after watching the first episode.
