My girls LOVE everything My Little Pony. Most of their favorite movies are Equestria Girls movies and so they were thrilled to learn the Equestria Girls are back for a magic-filled triple feature! We received an advance copy of My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Magical Movie Night and my daughters were over the moon! We watched it almost immediately – and then again and again. I admit, I really enjoyed this as well! It is a great family movie for any My Little Pony fans!

From the moment we saw the first trailer, my girls’ were anxious to see Boss Baby. When it hit theaters, we took them to see it on opening weekend. They were jumping and down while we waiting to go in and could not. Wait through the entire movie, they had smiles on their faces. They kept asking my husband and I if we saw certain parts of the movie and wanted to make sure that we did not miss anything. After Boss Baby ended, they asked us if they could watch it again. Right away. Every single time we went to the movies after that they asked if we were going to see Boss Baby.

As you probably know by now, I have two young girls. They are 4 and 6 years old right now and they are huge geeks, just like their mama! Because of this, they are big in to comic books and super heroes. One of their favorite shows and movies to watch is anything that has to do with the DC Super Hero Girls. I love this as well because it gives them great figures to look up to – and of course, I love anything comic book related as well. The DC Super Hero Girls are strong, independent women, so who better for them to place on a pedestal? The latest DVD release, LEGO DC Super Hero Girls: Brain Drain, hits stores on August 8th – and it is amazing!

One of my favorite things to do with my daughters is cuddle up and read stories. Lately, one of our absolute favorites has been Room on the Broom. My girls are in to everything and anything spooky right now. Halloween is their favorite holiday. So it makes sense that they fell in love with this book because it all about a witch. When I told the girls there is a DVD of this story, they were thrilled. When an advance copy showed up at our door, they asked to watch it right away. And we all loved it!

Marvel Studios announced today that production has begun on “Ant-Man and The Wasp and I am beyond excited! I loved the first movie – despite being a tad bit nervous about it. As you know, I am a comic book girl, and so I prefer the Hank Pym version of Ant-Man. I was hoping to see a movie revolved more around him when it was first announced, but we ended up with a focus on Scott Lang. All that being said, I would not change a thing. Paul Rudd is PERFECT as Scott. Ant-Man is one of the funniest Marvel movies (right up there with both Guardians) and I have seen it more times than I can count.

The day is finally almost here! THIS FRIDAY, July 21st, Descendants 2 will air at 8pm on Disney Channel, ABC, Disney XD, Freeform and Lifetime and I cannot wait! My girls and I have been looking forward to this film for quite some time. If you have been visiting my site over the last week, than you know I was lucky enough to chat with some of the cast and crew last time I was in LA. I also got to see some of the footage from Descendants 2, so I am eagerly awaiting to see how the whole movie plays out.

So many amazing announcements came out of D23 Expo this past weekend. If you follow me on Twitter (@MamasGeeky) then you likely saw them all. I was tweeting and retweeting as fast as my little fingers would let me! I am not ashamed to admit that a few times I teared up just reading all the announcements (and I was over 2,500 miles away!). I may have let out a few gasps and screams as well – yes, my husband was very annoyed with me. But all that is besides the point. What I want to focus on are my favorite movie announcements that came out of D23 Expo – even though they were all amazing.

Booboo Stewart is no stranger to movies that achieve ultimate fandom status. I mean, he was a major part of the Twilight series. I sat down with him in LA a few months ago to talk about Descendants 2 after seeing some of the footage. To say this film is going to be amazing is an understatement. I am beyond excited for it, and will be tuning in live on July 21st with my girls. Booboo had a lot to tell us about his role as Jay and the storylines of the movie.

After watching some footage of Descendants 2, our first interview was Cameron Boyce. Cameron plays Carlos in Descendants and Descendants 2, who happens to be one of my favorite VKs (Villain Kids). Cruela DeVille is one of my favorite villains and so naturally I like Carlos, who is her son. Cameron was amazing in the first film, and even better in Descendants 2 from what I saw. It seems like we will see a lot more of Carlos! In our interview, Cameron talked about the set, the training, and more.

One of my favorite things about Descendants was the costumes. I am a huge fan of the villains and so I loved seeing all the badass costumes that were inspired by them. Don’t get me wrong, the princess and prince costumes were great too, but I fell in love with the VKs clothes. While in LA a few months ago, I not only got to chat with the cast and see some of Descendants 2, I was able to talk with costume designer, Kara Saun. I loved hearing about her inspirations and the process that she goes through. Descendants 2 airs on July 21st, don’t miss it!
