Why You Should Put a LeapTV Under the Tree This Year

Last Christmas my father purchased a LeapTV for my young daughters. They were 2 and 3 at the time and it was the perfect gift. They still play it – and will continue to play it for many years to come. One of their favorite games is the Jake and the Neverland Pirates game because they like to clear the smoke of the volcano. They were beyond thrilled to find this under the tree and at it’s brand new price point of just $59.99 – I know your kids will love it too! My daughters literally jumped up and down when they unwrapped it – and have played it nearly every day since (Yes! Even a year later!) – talk about an investment.

The Ultimate Playmation Package

Playmation is the next step in the evolution of play, where “digital gets physical and imagination becomes real”. This system uses smart technology in their wearables for kids and empowers their imaginations, as they become the hero or heroine of stories from Disney, Marvel and Star Wars. Playmation Marvel’s Avengers is the first in a series of new franchise-based systems in development, which uses familiar technologies including wearables, wireless technology, motion sensors and more, but applies them in ways that are completely new, to create an experience that’s never been possible before.

PowerA Playmation Marvel’s Avengers Must Have Accessories

I recently received Disney Marvel’s Avengers Playmation and have been on an adventure ever since. You can read my full review of the game here, but the gist of it is that you strap on repulser gear to help the Avengers battle Ultron and go on missions. It is a blast and I have been having so much fun running around and playing it with my 4 year old. There are several new smart figures out to help expand game play and now there are some pretty amazing accessories from PowerA. If you have Playmation, these are MUST HAVE accessories. Until I got these, I was storing my Playmation in the box it came in and burning through batteries faster than I care to admit (I may or may not be playing for hours a day – it is FUN y’all!). If you are purchasing Playmation for any one this holiday season (or for yourself, admit it), then be sure to grab these as well.

Disney Infinity 3.0 Video Game Review

I have been playing Disney Infinity 3.0 for about a month now and I am obsessed. I have already cleared the Inside Out playset completely (with the help of my 4 year old of course!) and am part way through the first Star Wars playset (that comes with the starter pack). I have played both of the previous versions and I think there is so much more to the 3.0 version. Don’t get me wrong – I still love 1.0 and 2.0. I think that any Disney fan should have all of them. They are so much fun to play – but I love the changes that were made to the 3.0.

Gaming with Skylanders Superchargers

As most of you know, I am a huge gamer. If I could spend all day playing video games – I would be a happy mama! My dad used to call me a “vidiot” because of all the time I would spend playing video games. I am not ashamed to admit this at all – I love being a gamer. One thing I am ashamed to admit, however, is that until this month, I had never played Skylanders. I know – I know. How can I call myself a gamer and not have played this hugely popular game. I don’t know how to answer that question except honestly – I am a mom. I wish I had more time to play games but I just don’t anymore. That is why I was so excited about Skylanders – as far as I could tell this is a total family game – and I was so pleased to find out that it is!

4 Need to Know Facts About the New Leap Frog Epic

The LeapFrog Epic runs on an Android operating system (Android 4.4) – and I could tell the differences immediately. We have 5 (at last count) LeapPads in our house so we are very familiar with them. The Epic runs very quickly (not that the LeapPads are slow – they aren’t – but the Epic moves at lightening speed). With a quad-core processor and brilliant 7″ LCD screen, the LeapFrog Epic tablet delivers seamless performance. The homescreen is interactive where with the LeapPads it is just a photo (which you can customize). Children can bring the town to life using various art styles. One thing that my daughters LOVE about the background is that you can set it to reflect the weather and time in your town. They think it is so fun that it gets dark at night and cloudy when it is cloudy outside. This is a great way for kids to learn more about the weather – my 2.5 year old is starting to really grasp the concept thanks to the Epic. Besides LeapFrog apps, you can also download other LeapFrog approved Android Apps (for example, Fruit Ninja and Doodle Jump – sold separately) for the Epic. This is a brand new feature that my girls and I are taking full advantage of already. LeapFrog ensures there are no harmful third-party ads and only age-appropriate experiences.

Avengers Assemble! with Marvel Playmation

With Playmation, you can become an Avenger and join forces with your favorite super heroes. My 4 year old was in awe of the repulser gear. When I put it on, her eyes nearly popped out of her head as she exclaimed that I was an Avenger and the coolest mom ever! I did not think she could be any more excited until I powered it on and she heard J.A.R.V.I.S. start explaining to us how to use the repulser gear and what our first mission was. You should have seen us, we were both running around the back yard and blasting the power activators, ducking behind trees (and each other), and laughing hysterically. This was such an incredible bonding experience with my daughter. I am a ridiculously huge Marvel Comics fan so being able to pass on the love for these characters to her in such a unique way was a dream come true.

FanGirl Friday: Frozen Free Fall: Snowball Fight

We all know what a big gamer I am – and also what a big Disney fan I am. I am so thrilled that my 4 year old is starting to get the hang of the PlayStation. We have been joining forces on Disney Infinity lately and having a blast together. She also loves to play matching and challenge games by herself so when I heard about Frozen Free Fall: Snowball Fight – I knew it was a must download for our console! The fact that it has a two player mode had me itching to team up with my daughter and play. I love these types of games and so does she, and with 195 FREE levels, what is there to complain about?
