We are a family of gamers – so imagine our excitement when Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga + Bowser’s Minions showed up on our doorstep! One of the reasons we were practically jumping up and down was because it was nearly a full three weeks before it’s release to the public. This is a game that we had been waiting a long time for, and we couldn’t wait to dig right in! My daughter, Ivy, and I started playing it immediately – and quickly became addicted to it.

Whenever we go to Walt Disney World or on a Disney Cruise, one of our favorite things to do is watch the cartoons on the TV. So imagine how excited we were to see that a bunch of Halloween & Christmas themed ones were put on to a DVD. When we were sent a copy of Mickey Mouse: Merry & Scary, we opened it right up and put it on. Watching these cartoons totally transported us back to Disney World, and we felt like we were really there again. I just know this DVD will be watched whenever we are missing it there (which is all the time!).
My family and I were thrilled when Disney invited us to come check out their latest Disney Vacation Club Resort, Copper Creek, this past weekend. All I can say is WOW! Believe me when I say, you could spend your entire vacation at the resort and not get bored. But don’t get me wrong, no Disney trip is complete without at least a few days in the parks! However, Copper Creek is a great place to stay if you wish to spend a half day (or full day) hanging out at the resort to take a break from the busy of the parks.
In case you have not picked up on it yet, my family is big in to Walt Disney World. We are Disney Vacation Club members and visit at least twice a year – despite the fact that we are all the way across the country in Upstate New York. Animal Kingdom has always been a half day park for us – full day if we decide to check out all the animals and take our time. But now things have changed. Honestly, we could probably spend an entire day in new part of the park, Pandora – The World of Avatar, especially taking in to consideration those pesky wait times that come along with brand new rides opening.
A few months ago my family was introduced to Kuu Kuu Harajuku – and we all instantly fell in love. This show is so much fun for my daughters, and it is something I enjoy watching with them. This show currently airs on Nick Jr. and was created by singer Gwen Stefani – and it is pretty amazing. The newest DVD, Super Kawaii, contains 12 (yes 12!!) episodes from season one PLUS new interviews with the voice cast. We received an advance copy, but it hits stores on September 26th.
It is no secret that the Smiths are a family of geeks. We love it all – especially technology. Sphero recently released some new App-enabled Droids and we have been in awe of them! I mean, what Star Wars nerd doesn’t want their own R2-D2, BB-8, or the new BB-9E to follow them around and do their bidding. We were thrilled when Sphero sent us a couple of these to check out – and we can’t stop playing with them!
The Garden Grill is always on our must do dining list when we visit Disney World. In my opinion, it is one of the best character meals that there is, for several different reasons. A Smith Family visit to Disney World would just not be the same without it. My in-laws will be hitting Disney World with us in a few months and we knew right away the one breakfast we had to make sure they did not miss is The Garden Grill. I am thrilled to say that we were able to book it – and cannot wait to show them why we love it so much!
Let’s face it, 2017 has already been a pretty good year for movies. Especially for geeks like me! I mean, Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2, Logan, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and now we have Thor: Ragnarok to look forward to. I know I have told you guys time after time, but I am am a pretty big comic book fan. I have been reading Marvel Comics since I was a little girl – and Thor has always been a favorite of mine. If you don’t know much about Thor and Hulk besides what you have seen in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), I encourage you to pick up these few comics to familiarize yourself with them more.
Living in an old home comes with lots of handyman type problems – one of which is old plumbing. Because of these pipes, we end up with lots of clog problems in our home. My husband says a lot of it also has to do with my curly, frizzy, crazy hair that sheds constantly – but I am not sure if that is 100% true (it is, but don’t tell him that!). Roto-Rooter has helped us battle quite the list of clogs in the last few months, and I highly recommend it.
