A couple of nights before I was heading off to LA for the Thor: Ragnarok press event, I was told some super exciting news! We would be going to Disney’s California Adventure & Disneyland – to have dinner at Cars Land and celebrate the fact that Cars 3 was coming out on digital and blu-ray. I had only been there once before, so I was really excited. We would only have a few short hours to explore, and there was so much I wanted to see. Especially since for the first time ever, Cars Land was all decorated for Haul-o-Ween. The decorations were incredible – and inspiring. They got me thinking about how I could throw a Haul-o-Ween themed viewing party for Cars 3 at home.

Of all the booths on display at New York Comic-Con, our favorite was undoubtedly Marvel. While it may seem like a bit of a no-brainer that Marvel would be our top pick (given that we’re big fans of Marvel’s superheroes overall), choosing this booth as the best goes beyond our existing fandom. Marvel was a highlight of NYCC 2017 not only because of the iconic heroes and intrinsic good quality that have come to be associated with the brand, but because they took those things and utilized them to create a wide array of things for fans both new and old to see and to do throughout the weekend. As you likely know by now, my family and I are huge Disney fans. Several months ago we discovered a new Disney subscription box – the Pley Disney Princess box. It comes every two months and each box is themed to a Disney Princess. So far we have received Ariel, Rapunzel, and our latest box – Merida. This is something that my girls have been loving – and I think many kids would enjoy it. What a great gift for a Disney Princess fan this holiday season.

At New York Comic-Con, we had the opportunity to check out Marvel Television’s Madison Square Garden panel showcasing the latest season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. To say I was excited to walk the red carpet at the Thor: Ragnarok premiere and see the film before many others is an understatement. I had been waiting a long time for this movie to come out. Taika Waititi is one of my favorite directions and I was dying to see what he was going to do with this film. When you are looking forward to a movie this much, there is a lot of potential for disappointment. I had a feeling it was going to be fantastic and if my expectations were not met, I was not going to be happy with it. Well, they weren’t met – they were exceeded. Here is why I think you need to rush out and see Thor: Ragnarok opening weekend (November 3rd)!
One of our favorite holidays is Halloween. There is nothing like cuddling up with the family, putting on a spooky movie or TV show, and eating some treats. Our daughters are pretty young still (4 and 6) so we tend to select videos that they can watch – but that we will enjoy too. That is why we love NCircle and were thrilled to get some Halloween DVDs from them. These are must haves for families with young kids!
I am a pretty big fan of Marvel, in case you somehow missed out on that. I have been reading Marvel Comics since I was a little girl – so you can imagine how excited I am about all of the Marvel movies coming out. This is certainly a great time to live in if you are a geek like me. Thor: Ragnarok is the next Marvel Studios film to come out (and I can’t wait for you all to see it – it is so good!!) but after that will be Black Panther. After seeing the latest poster and trailer, I was blown away. I already know this film would be amazing, but now I am really counting the days.
My husband and I are always looking for new shows that we can enjoy together. We love a good comedy and so when we first saw the commercial for ABC’s new show, The Mayor, we thought it might be a good one to try out. Both of us laughed through the whole thing, so it seemed like something we would like. A few of the actors in the show are favorites of ours and we tuned in the first week it aired. I am glad we did because little did I know just a week later I would get to interview some of the cast!
There is nothing like a Marvel red carpet – and no two are the same. I recently hit up LA and attended the Thor: Ragnarok premiere and of course, it was an amazing experience. I was really excited about this one because it was at one of my favorite theaters – the El Capitan Theatre – which I had not been to for a while. It is a totally gorgeous and historic theater and I highly recommend that everyone go visit it at some point in their life. I knew this was going to be a busy carpet, but I didn’t realize just how amazing the vibe would be. It was so high energy and buzzing with excitement.
