One of our favorite things to do as a family around the holidays is open up an advent calendar (or two!) together. Every year, each of my daughters pick one out and then wait, very impatiently, until December 1st. This year, we were sent a couple from Playmobil – and they were jumping for joy! I expected them to fight over the same one, but they each grabbed one and were happy as a couple of clams!
Year: 2017
Between all four of us, my family surprisingly has a lot of clothes that should be dry cleaned. But honestly – who has time for that? Until I learned about Dryel, the chances of my actually paying attention to the tags on my clothing was pretty slim to none. There was no way that I could squeeze in going to the dry cleaners to my already busy schedule. With Dryel, I can take care of our clothes the way I should, without having to worry about them stretching, shrinking, or fading.
I am sure I have said this time and time again, but one of our favorite things to do as a family is cuddle up and watch a movie. We have family movie night once a week, and I truly think it is something we all look forward to. When we first saw trailers for Nut Job 2: Nutty By Nature, we knew it was a movie we would all love to see. No matter how many times we saw it, we were still laughing! Unfortunately, we didn’t get to theaters to see it, but that’s OK because Universal sent us an advance copy to check out!
I have been a fan of South Park for years and years. I was a young teenager when I started watching it and it is kind of something I grew up watching. I remember when the movie came out and my friends and I went to see it in theaters – ten times! I don’t watch it religiously anymore, but I will watch an episode here and there. I enjoyed the first UbiSoft South Park game, The Stick of Truth, so I was really excited to receive a copy of The Fractured But Whole.
This job is not all sunshine and rainbows. Yes, I have some amazing experiences, but I also have lots and lots of deadlines. Throw having two girls that I love more than anything – but that are becoming quite the little sassypants – into the mix and life can get stressful. Something that always relaxes me and resets my mind is coloring. I try to sit down and do this at least once a week. I just grab my favorite gel pens, and set aside an hour or so. My favorite adult coloring books are all Disney themed. They are relaxing and fun, so I wanted to share them with you!
We are a huge Disney family, so of course we saw Cars 3 in theaters. It immediately became of my favorite Disney movies. The lesson that it teaches is incredible – and an important one for kids. Cars 3 is sure to touch your heart. You will laugh, and in true Disney fashion, you might even cry. I know I did. The blu-ray just hit stores today, but I was lucky enough to get an advance copy. I think that every single bonus feature is a must watch!
You might not recognize Rachel House from many films – unless you watched Hunt for the Wilderpeople like I suggested. But I guarantee you would remember her voice. She voiced Gramma Tala in Moana, and now she is in Thor: Ragnarok. Her character, Topaz, is one of the best characters in the film if you ask me. She is hilarious! I honestly don’t know how she kept a straight face while filming – but we did ask her about it in this exclusive interview!
I have been a Funko POP Collector for years! There is just something that I love really about these cute little guys! Some of them are even lucky enough to come out of the box and become my “desk buddies” – but not many. I really can’t tell you why, but I prefer to keep them in the box. Perhaps it has to do with the fact that I just have SO many, it is easier to display them by stacking them on top of each other. How do you display YOUR Funko POP collection? Not only do I want to know, GameStop wants to know too!
I don’t know about you, but I get overwhelmed each holiday season. Having two little girls to shop for can be difficult because there are so many toys out there to choose from. This list contains items that my daughters (and my husband and I!) love. We feel these will make great holiday gifts this year. Each item on this guide was personally tested and/or approved by Mama’s Geeky or her children. This guide may contain affiliate links.
This holiday season, choose gifts WHOLE family will love! From help in the kitchen, to games — these gift ideas are sure to be a hit!
