KPop Demon Hunters Review: An Absolute Blast

0

Kpop Demon Hunters not only has unforgettable songs and epic action sequences, but it is gorgeously animated and filled to the brim with heart.

KPOP DEMON HUNTERS MOVIE REVIEW

If you are a fan of Kpop, you are going to love Kpop Demon Hunters, but even if you aren’t, this movie is sure to bring you joy. It is jam-packed with incredible action sequences, catchy songs, and a whole lot of heart.

This film follows Kpop superstars Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, who are not just in a band; they track down (and destroy) demons. Their music is used for the power of good, holding off demons from taking over the entire world.

When a strange new Kpop boy band comes on the scene, the Saja Boys, they start to take away from HUNTR/X’s popularity, a lot is at stake. It doesn’t take long for the girls to realize they are not just a normal boy group. In fact, they are undercover demons.

KPop Demon Hunters Is Hilarious & Heartwarming

Without giving too much away, there are a lot of heartwarming scenes in Kpop Demon Hunters. I am not ashamed to admit that several scenes had me tearing up (and one full-on made me sob). This story is as much about friendship as it is about saving the world. The girls reminded me a lot of friendships I have had in the past, and have now. It is important to be there for one another when we are needed.

At the same time, every single joke landed. The comedy in this movie is top-notch. There are lines that will have kids cracking up, but also ones that adults will understand. We have all had that celebrity or band member who makes us sweat and makes our hearts pound just by looking at them. Kpop Demon Hunters leans into that relatability perfectly.

It should come as no surprise that a movie called Kpop Demon Hunters has a lot of featured songs. These are all original, with popular Kpop group TWICE lending their voices to one (stay through the credits for some fun behind-the-scenes clips!). Each and every song is memorable and catchy.

They are brilliantly performed, often added to epic fight sequences or grand stage performances. One song in particular – I will not tell you which one – is part of what had me crying my eyes out. Not only do I need this soundtrack now, I need it on vinyl. Please and thank you, Netflix.

The Battle Sequences Are Epic

Speaking of the battle sequences, this is one place where Kpop Demon Hunters really shines. As many of them take place during a song, there are strategic dance moves used to take down enemies, something that is a lot of fun to watch. Of course, when the girls and boys go head to head, the action is at its best.

The Animation Is Stunning

The animation in Kpop Demon Hunters is gorgeous. You only need to look at the trailer to figure that out. When we are following the girls, for the most part colors are bright and fun. The scenery pops with pinks and purples.

For the boys, the backgrounds and designs are a lot darker. They are demons after all. On that same note, the design of the demons is fantastic. Whimsical at times, terrifying at others.

Kpop Demon Hunters is an absolute blast. This is one that viewers of all ages will have a good time with, but, as expected, the key demographic is tweens, teens, and adults that love Kpop music.

Get ready to fall in love with (most) of the characters – even those you love to hate. Have tissues handy and keep your fingers crossed for a sequel. There are a lot of places this story can go.

Red Carpet Revelations: Stars Dish on the Action-Packed Comedy ‘Bride Hard’

Stars of Bride Hard share excitement for the film’s outrageous comedy & action. Gigi Zumbado recounts a hilarious set story & sequel hopes for Heart Eyes.

Bride Hard red carpet interviews

Get ready for an explosive time as the action-comedy Bride Hard hits theaters on June 20th. This film promises a unique blend of wedding chaos and high-stakes action, as a disgraced former secret agent is forced back into action when her best friend’s wedding is taken hostage. With a stellar cast bringing the laughs and the punches, Bride Hard is a great movie to see with a group of friends.

We caught up with the incredible cast, including Justin Hartley, Rebel Wilson, Anna Chlumsky, Gigi Zumbado, and Sherry Cola, at the red carpet premiere of Bride Hard. They revealed what they are most excited for viewers to see in the film, giving us a peek into the outrageous fun in store. Gigi Zumbado also shared a hilarious off-set story involving oysters, crawfish, and a bold offer from Justin Hartley, and even divulged what she’d love to see for her Heart Eyes character, Monica, should there be a sequel to the hit horror film.

Justin Hartley on the Outrageous Action

Mama’s Geeky: What are you most excited for fans to see in Bride Hard?

Justin Hartley: I think just how outrageous the movie gets at certain points. You know, a lot of explosions. I take a lot of hits. If you’re a fan of comedy, come see the movie. If you hate Justin Hartley and you want to see him get his ass kicked over and over and over again, come see the movie. It was great. It was fun. I got a lot of help. Honestly, the ladies did all of the hard work. They were the ones doing it, I was basically just taking the hits. It was pretty simple, actually. It’s a lot of trust. I never got hit once. So it was great.

Rebel Wilson Compares Bride Hard to Bridesmaids Meets Die Hard

Bride Hard red carpet interviews

Mama’s Geeky: What are you most excited for people to see in this movie?

Rebel Wilson: I think it’s just a really cool, it’s like Bridesmaids meets Die Hard. It’s got some comedy, and it’s got some action, and it really is just fun. I’m finding there aren’t that many, just fun movies out there in the cinemas. I think there’s hardly any. This video will kick ass on streaming anyway, but if you can, if you just want a fun night in the cinemas, go check it out.

Anna Chlumsky on ‘Lady Power’ and Insane Fun

Mama’s Geeky: What are you most excited for people to see in this movie?

Anna Chlumsky: Oh my gosh. Just lady power. It’s so fun. And also, we’re just insane and we’re ridiculous and it’s all over the place and it’s a blast.

Gigi Zumbado Shares Wild On-Set Story and Heart Eyes Hopes

Mama’s Geeky: Is there anything funny or memorable that happened on set while filming Bride Hard?

Gigi Zumbado: We ate a lot of oysters and a lot of crawfish. And one night, I will say, Sherry Cola did have to hold my hair up. We did have to pull an Uber over. Cause if Justin Hartley offers you a shot, you take the freaking shot. So I will regret that, but also not regret it.

Mama’s Geeky: If Heart Eyes were to continue, what would you like to see for your character, Monica, in the next one?

Gigi Zumbado: I want to fight. I want Monica to get a chunga fight in there. Get some aggression, take her earrings off, and throw hands a little bit, support her best friend. Last time she was oblivious to everything. I think it’s time for her to show up.

Sherry Cola on Stunts, Mom Wisdom, and Nobody Wants This Season 2

Can you tease anything about Nobody Wants This Season Two?

Sherry Cola: I’m just so thrilled to be a part of Nobody Wants This. Such a feel good show. And with these icons, Adam Brody, Kristen Bell, and Tim, Jackie, Justine, everyone is just brilliant, and it just makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside. I think that’s what the world needs right now. An example of a healthy relationship. I think that’s what was so refreshing about it. And why people watch it on repeat is because it was something that made us feel good. And then that I don’t take for granted. Season two is going to be just as good as season one.

Mama’s Geeky: Do you have any crazy wedding stories?

Sherry Cola: Listen, you know what’s funny? I was a maid of honor, like two weeks before we filmed this. So I had weddings still in my hair and I was ready to go back into another wedding with a little more plot twists. But no, this is such a good time. And truly the theme is girl power. Look at this cast. Look how stunning we are. Look how messy and chaotic and badass we are. You know what I’m saying? Let’s just keep representing.

About Bride Hard

Sam (Rebel Wilson) is a world-class secret agent… and a pretty terrible maid of honor. After blowing off bridal duties for an international spy mission, she’s demoted to bridesmaid at her childhood best friend’s wedding.

What should’ve been a weekend of reconnecting and celebration turns into a five-star death trap when armed mercenaries crash the big day. Sam’s the only one who can save the bride, and hopefully earn back the trust she lost along the way.

Dodging bullets and trying not to ruin the floral arrangements, Sam takes on the ultimate wedding crasher, realizing that sometimes the toughest mission isn’t taking down the bad guys, but showing up for the people who matter.

Bride Hard comes to theaters on June 20.

28 Years Later Review: Intense, Captivating, & Divisive

0

28 Years Later is an intense horror that will have viewers’ hearts pounding nearly all the way through, though some parts will leave them divided.

28 Years Later welcomes horror fans back into the world of the infected set by 28 Days Later and 28 Weeks Later. This is not a direct follow-up, in that you can easily understand what is going on without having seen the previous films. It should also be noted that this is the start of a new trilogy, so it does end in a way that sets up for what is to come, and that is sure to leave audiences divided.

Decades after the first virus outbreak, this film heavily focuses on the quarantined islands of the United Kingdom and a community that has found a way to survive through all the craziness. They are connected to the mainland by a causeway that is completely underwater during high tide, allowing them to heavily defend the one way in and keep them protected from the infected.

Alfie Williams Is A Star

28 years later review

When Jamie (Aaron Taylor-Johnson) feels that his 12-year-old son Spike (Alfie Williams) is old enough to travel to the mainland and get his first kill, it sets in motion a story of terror, determination, and adventure. Without getting too into spoilers, things do not exactly go according to plan for Jamie, which means that Aaron Taylor-Johnson is not as much a part of the film as some might expect (no, he does not die).

28 years later review
28 Years Later. Credit: Sony Pictures

This is all perfectly fine, however, because he shines when he is on screen, but then passes the torch over to Williams, who absolutely nails being the lead character of the film. He is incredible, nailing every single emotional beat. Whether he is scared of a horde of zombies or concerned for his ailing mother, or everything in between. This kid is going places. He was great in His Dark Materials, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise, but he has really come into his own here, and I truly cannot wait to see what he brings to the second and third films of this trilogy.

28 Years Later Focuses On An Emotional Story Taking Place In A Broken World

28 years later review
28 Years Later. Credit: Sony Pictures

As with many horror movies, there is a lot more to it than well-placed jump scares, an eerie score, and sound design that is made to put viewers on edge. 28 Years Later might be scary at times, but it is the emotional story at the core that makes it what it is. Jodie Comer plays Isla, Spike’s mother. She is sick, but not with the zombie infection. No one is sure what is wrong with her, but after discovering there is a doctor, or at least someone who used to be one, on the mainland, Spike risks everything to help her.

28 years later review
28 Years Later. Credit: Sony Pictures

Their bond, and the chemistry between Williams and Comer, is enough to bring some to tears (hey, I shed a few). This becomes a story about a mother and her son, amidst all the zombies attacking. These two steal the show, there is no doubt about that. Ralph Fiennes has a smaller, but very important, role in 28 Years Later. He is, as always, incredible, leaving a lasting impression.

The Ending Will Likely Leave Audiences Divided

28 years later review
28 Years Later. Credit: Sony Pictures

With impressive cinematography, a phenomenal cast, magnificent sound design, just enough blood, gore, and scares, and a captivating story, there is a lot to appreciate about 28 Years Later. The end, however, is going to make some viewers feel as if it “jumped the shark” and will leave them scratching their heads. For me, I rather enjoyed it.

The important thing to remember is that this movie is going to lead right into the next one. So, after all the loose ends are tied up and emotions are running high, it makes sense for Danny Boyle to share a glimpse of what he has up his sleeve. The ending is a direct tie-in to the beginning and belongs there. The only thing I would have suggested would be making it an end credit scene, so it isn’t so jarring when it happens.

Still, I had a blast with 28 Years Later. I was on the edge of my seat at times and burying my head in my hands at others. It is scary, intense, and exactly what I wanted. I will be seated for the next one.

About 28 Years Later

Academy Award®-winning director Danny Boyle and Academy Award®-nominated writer Alex Garland reunite for 28 Years Later, a terrifying new “auteur horror” story set in the world created by 28 Days Later.

It’s been almost three decades since the rage virus escaped a biological weapons laboratory, and now, still in a ruthlessly enforced quarantine, some have found ways to exist amidst the infected.

One such group of survivors lives on a small island connected to the mainland by a single, heavily-defended causeway. When one of the group leaves the island on a mission into the dark heart of the mainland, he discovers secrets, wonders, and horrors that have mutated not only the infected but other survivors as well.

28 Years Later comes to theaters June 20.

Elio Review: An Unforgettable & Charming Trip To Space

1

Pixar’s Elio delivers a charming story about a boy just trying to find his place in the universe, something that we can all relate to.

Elio movie review
A COSMIC MISADVENTURE – When Elio (voice of Yonas Kibreab), a space fanatic with an active imagination and a huge alien obsession, is beamed up to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization with representatives from galaxies far and wide, he must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, including Glordon (voice of Remy Edgerly), a tender-hearted princeling. Directed by Madeline Sharafian, Domee Shi and Adrian Molina, and produced by Mary Alice Drumm, Disney and Pixar’s “Elio” releases in theaters June 20, 2025. © 2024 Disney/Pixar. All Rights Reserved.

Pixar’s Elio is going to be a hit with families, there is no doubt about that. It is adorable, fun, and charming. The main character, Elio, is lovable and kind, making it easy to root for him. There are heavy themes about trying to find your place in the universe, which is something we can all relate to.

Young Elio is obsessed with space, constantly begging to be abducted by aliens and taken away from his life on Earth. When that dream finally comes true, he is mistaken for the leader of his planet. Things go off the rails for him pretty quickly when Lord Grigon threatens the Communiverse and he volunteers to do the negotiating.

Elio movie review
MEET ELIO – Elio (voice of Yonas Kibreab), a space fanatic with an active imagination, finds himself on a cosmic misadventure where he must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, navigate a crisis of intergalactic proportions and somehow discover who he is truly meant to be. Directed by Madeline Sharafian, Domee Shi and Adrian Molina, and produced by Mary Alice Drumm, Disney and Pixar’s “Elio” releases in theaters June 20, 2025. © 2024 Disney/Pixar. All Rights Reserved.

While it is clear that some plot points changed from the initial teaser trailer to the final product, any disjointed bits are over by the time the movie gets going. After the first thirty minutes, any concerns are left behind as the story settles in and finds its footing.

Impressive & Unique Alien Designs

Elio movie review
AMBASSADORS – When 11-year-old Elio (voice of Yonas Kibreab) is beamed up to space, he finds himself in the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization with representatives from galaxies far and wide. Like humans, the members of the Communiverse come in all shapes, sizes and personalities. Among them are Ambassador Mira (far left), Ambassador Helix (third from left), Ambassador Questa (center), Ambassador Tegman (third from right) and Ambassador Turais (second from right). Disney and Pixar’s “Elio” releases in theaters June 20, 2025. © 2025 Disney/Pixar. All Rights Reserved.

The animation in Elio is absolutely gorgeous, really pulling viewers into this world. The Communiverse alone has so many different elements to oogle, but the aliens themselves are impressive. Each one has a unique design. I can’t even imagine how fun that room was when everyone was coming up them.

Brad Garrett Nails It As The Villain Lord Grigon

Elio movie review
BARGAINING CHIP – When Lord Grigon (voice of Brad Garrett), a fierce alien warlord who rules the planet Hylurg, vows to enact his wrath on the Ambassadors of the Communiverse who humiliated him—it’s up to Elio (voice of Yonas Kibreab) to stop him. Elio’s plan involves the perfect bargaining chip—Grigon’s son Glordon (voice of Remy Edgerly), who’s all in on the plan. Directed by Madeline Sharafian, Domee Shi and Adrian Molina, and produced by Mary Alice Drumm, Disney and Pixar’s “Elio” releases in theaters June 20, 2025. © 2025 Disney/Pixar. All Rights Reserved.

As with any good villain, Lord Grigon lives in a gray area. He is an angry warlord, but he is also a father. He is complicated, but there are still ways that I could relate to him (especially as a parent). Brad Garrett voices him brilliantly. He absolutely nails the more emotional scenes, which, coupled with the beautiful animation, had me in tears.

Glordon Steals The Show

Elio movie review
SPACING OUT – When Elio’s wish to be abducted by aliens actually comes true, he meets an array of space inhabitants, including liquid supercomputer Ooooo and Glordon, the tender-hearted son of a fierce warlord ruler. Featuring the voices of Shirley Henderson, Yonas Kibreab and Remy Edgerly as as Ooooo, Elio and Glordon, respectively, Disney and Pixar’s “Elio” releases in theaters June 20, 2025. © 2025 Disney/Pixar. All Rights Reserved.

While I do love and appreciate Elio’s story, it is Glorgon that steals the show for me. Not only is he adorable, young, and innocent, but the way he just wants to be good is heartwarming and special. He makes the perfect friend for Elio, and the two of them have great chemistry together.

It is his story that tugged at my heartstrings the most, and his story that made me cry harder. That said, it wouldn’t have worked as well as it did without his connection to Elio.

Overall Thoughts

Elio movie review
SPACE FANATIC – Elio (voice of Yonas Kibreab) is a space fanatic with an active imagination who finds himself on a cosmic misadventure where he must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, navigate a crisis of intergalactic proportions and somehow discover who he is truly meant to be. Directed by Madeline Sharafian, Domee Shi and Adrian Molina, and produced by Mary Alice Drumm, Disney and Pixar’s “Elio” releases in theaters June 20, 2025. © 2025 Disney/Pixar. All Rights Reserved.

Is a Pixar movie even a Pixar movie if it doesn’t make you cry? I am not ashamed to admit that this one had me teary-eyed at the end, as per usual with this studio. The overarching themes are extremely relatable because who can’t relate to wanting to feel loved and accepted? This is a story that the world needs, especially right now.

On top of that, the animation is stunning, and the jokes always land. Without getting into spoilers, there are even a few horror moments, which might sound off brand for Pixar, but trust me, it really works.

A great trip out of the house for families this summer, Elio is more than worth checking out on the big screen when it hits theaters on June 20. I highly recommend splurging for the 3D option if you can because it completely immerses you in the story.

STEVIE (Jolie Hoang-Rappaport)

In her 12 long years of life, things have pretty much gone exactly the way Stevie planned they would go. She got straight A’s (except for that one pesky B in PE, but let’s be honest, gym isn’t a real class anyways), she aced her piano recital last week, and her face is finally starting to grow into her bangs.

On the rare occasion that things don’t go the way she thinks they should, Stevie wastes no time and fixes the situation. Stevie is the glue that holds everything together and she obsessively wants her life – especially her family – to be perfect. But there is one thing that always seems to get in Stevie’s way….

ELLIOT (Elias Janssen)

Stevie’s fun-loving rambunctious, 8-year-old little brother. Whereas Stevie wants everything to be perfect, Elliot fully embraces the messiness of life. Elliot thinks the world is his oyster – if an oyster were something you played with and not something gross and slimy you ate at boring adult parties. Elliot’s imagination is off the charts, in and out of the dream world. His hair is as unkempt as his side of the bedroom, which is littered with toys, stuffed animals, and trails of sliced baloney.

At first glance Stevie and Elliot’s relationship seems filled with typical sibling squabbling, but upon closer inspection, it’s clear that Elliot looks up to Stevie and longs to connect with her the way they used to before she got a bad case of puberty. While he’d never admit it, Elliot’s turned to pestering to get Stevie to notice him when she’d otherwise write him off.

BALONEY TONY (Craig Robinson)

Baloney Tony is Elliot’s long lost stuffy. A small, one-eyed giraffe with a matted mane, Tony’s loud neon color scheme has muted over the years, but not his personality. He’s a pint-sized adorable rascal whose snarky personality and cutting sarcasm only adds to his charm. But despite all his bravado, Baloney Tony is all stench and no bite.

In reality, he’s a coward at heart. When the nightmares roll in, Baloney Tony will run and hide rather than face his fears. Named after his unique aroma – a processed meat that Elliot has been stuffing into his open seam since he was a toddler – the mystery of Baloney Tony’s whereabouts has become the stuff of legend in their household.

DAD (Simu Liu)

Michael Ting is a loving father and a talented musician. In college, he and his then girlfriend, now wife, Jennifer, formed an indie folk band called The Hypsonics. Their first album went gold, and the duo were well on their way to living out their dreams of music stardom. But just as they were about to go on tour, life surprised them with a baby.

Twelve years later, Michael is the only band member left, as Jennifer now teaches music at the local community college. He’s on his 5th album, but none of them have quite reached the heights of their breakout debut. In spite of his more modest success, Michael still loves what he does and believes he needs to persevere in the pursuit of his dreams to set an example for his kids that they should never give up on theirs.

MOM (Cristin Milioti)

Stevie gets her dreamer mentality from Dad, she gets her strength, practicality and go-getter work ethic from her mom, Jennifer. After giving birth to Elliot, Mom decided to take a step back from music to pursue a more practical career that would give her kids the stability she believes they need.

Mom still loves music, but she loves her children more, and rebranded herself as an educator. She now teaches music at the local community college, but aspires to a professorship at a big university.

I Don’t Understand You: A Hilariously Horrific Honeymoon from Hell

In I Don’t Understand You, a couple’s disastrous adoption journey in Italy spirals into a hilarious, dark horror-comedy. Andrew Rannells and Nick Kroll shine amidst the chaos.

I Don’t Understand You movie review

One wouldn’t necessarily think of Andrew Rannells and Nick Kroll as couple material. However, once you watch I Don’t Understand You, you’ll wonder why that is, because it seems like they should have always been playing a couple.

I Don’t Understand You is a film that takes you on a wild ride of the worst decisions possible. How much worse can it get, you’ll ask, and the answer will always be the same: Worse. Basically, whatever kind of bad day you’re having, it can’t be worse than theirs. And it’s on their anniversary!

Originally premiering at SXSW in March, the destination horror comedy from Brian Crano and David Craig mirrors their own real-life experiences while trying to adopt a child, though theirs had a much-less-bloody ending. Indeed, the soft romance that is at the heart of this film is the kind of romance that comes from real, actualized love. It cements who these two are and teases how their bond holds up throughout the course of the film.

I Don't Understand You movie review

In I Don’t Understand You, Cole (Rannells) and Dom (Kroll) are looking to adopt a baby and are…not handling the stressful process well. Once-burned from an adoption scam, they both are a little more wary and a little more weary this time around.

We are introduced to them self-taping a video application for adoption, a scene that sets the tone for their dynamic. They’re nervous and awkward, quick to play off things for jokes, but they never get mad at each other. In fact, their video is so honest that it catches the attention of Candace (Amanda Seyfried), the pregnant woman they were filming it for before they go to Italy.

I Don't Understand You movie review

It is no understatement to say that much of the film hinges on the comedic timing between Rannells and Kroll. They play off of each other impeccably. Nothing is ever “over the top”—or, more so than usual. Rather, their separate brands of comedy feel tailor-made for their characters.

When they make it to Italy they’re trying as hard as they can to relax and enjoy their vacation, but no amount of “babe”s (and there are, adorably, a lot) can fully mask their stress. When a family friend makes them reservations at a restaurant, they decide to go, mostly just to please him.

I Don't Understand You movie review

Now, stuck in a foreign country where they can’t understand a thing anybody is saying, Cole and Dom are faced with a series of questions: Will they become fathers? Will they make it through the night? Will they face jail time in a foreign country where they don’t speak the language?

Crano and Craig give us a wonderfully dark, wonderfully hilarious film. It’s something for the horror fans and the rom-com fans, because, let’s face it: Is there truly nothing more romantic than knowing your partner is there for you in more than just sickness and health?

Don’t miss our interviews from the I Don’t Understand You red carpet premiere.

About I Don’t Understand You

An American couple, on the verge of adopting a baby, goes on an Italian vacation — an opportunity to reconnect before the new addition arrives. Everything is picture-perfect; the epitome of a European baby moon, when things begin to spiral out of control.

On the way to dinner, they get their rental car stuck in a ditch and are stranded in rural nowhere in a downpour. These two Americans, who are used to being catered to, are now in a foreign land without service, an Italian language comprehension of about zero, and clear relationship turmoil that could explode at any minute. Fear obviously takes over.

I Don’t Understand You is now playing in theaters.

Mario Kart World Review: It Is Absolutely Worth The Price

0

Mario Kart World is a new game exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2. It might seem pricey at first, but it is more than worth the cost. Here’s why. Thank you to Nintendo for sending a copy of the game and a Nintendo Switch 2, so that we could test it.

Mario Kart World Review: It Is Absolutely Worth The Price

As a member of a family of gamers, nothing is more exciting than a co-op game that everyone enjoys. That is what Mario Kart has always been for us and continues to be with the release of Mario Kart World.

One of my favorite things about this game is how updated it feels. Not just with more options, but the look and the gameplay as well. The graphics are incredible, truly making the Nintendo Switch 2 come off as a superior console to its predecessor.

Mario Kart World is more than worth its $80 price tag. Here’s why.

Mario Kart World Offers A Lot For Players To Collect & Explore

Mario Kart World Review: It Is Absolutely Worth The Price

The races themselves are updated with multiple new, fun and unique tracks, but more on that later. First, I want to talk about how much this game has evolved since the last version of it. True to its name, Mario Kart World truly feels like players end up immersed in this world.

The Free Roam option literally allows you to zoom around the map, competing in challenges to earn stickers and other prizes, as well as test out your skills. This is not only a great way to get used to the controls, discover secrets, and let the completionist in you thrive, but it actually a whole lot of fun. This is a great addition to the game because it expands what a single player can do in Mario Kart.

Of course, there is the classic battle mode, with the beloved Balloon Battle, but I have been having a lot of fun with Knockout Mode. I need to make sure that my hands are up to the challenge, but racing from course to course with no rest in between is an absolute blast.

More Racers, More Characters, More Skins, More Fun

Mario Kart World Review: It Is Absolutely Worth The Price

Previous versions of Mario Kart supported 12 racers. That number has doubled in Mario Kart World, which supports 24 racers. This makes things a bit more chaotic, especially at the start of each race, but also extremely fun.

Not only are there many characters that you can race as, but most of them have different variants to collect. Players do so by picking up what I have been calling happy meals from Yoshi stands and eating the food that they get. Different meals unlock different characters, but each one also gives your car a boost, much like a mushroom.

There are many characters, variants, and vehicles to unlock, providing hours of fun on top of those you will have racing with your family and friends. If you are a fan of Mario Kart, there is no way that you won’t enjoy Mario Kart World.

About Mario Kart World
