Kpop Demon Hunters not only has unforgettable songs and epic action sequences, but it is gorgeously animated and filled to the brim with heart.

If you are a fan of Kpop, you are going to love Kpop Demon Hunters, but even if you aren’t, this movie is sure to bring you joy. It is jam-packed with incredible action sequences, catchy songs, and a whole lot of heart.
This film follows Kpop superstars Rumi, Mira, and Zoey, who are not just in a band; they track down (and destroy) demons. Their music is used for the power of good, holding off demons from taking over the entire world.
When a strange new Kpop boy band comes on the scene, the Saja Boys, they start to take away from HUNTR/X’s popularity, a lot is at stake. It doesn’t take long for the girls to realize they are not just a normal boy group. In fact, they are undercover demons.
KPop Demon Hunters Is Hilarious & Heartwarming

Without giving too much away, there are a lot of heartwarming scenes in Kpop Demon Hunters. I am not ashamed to admit that several scenes had me tearing up (and one full-on made me sob). This story is as much about friendship as it is about saving the world. The girls reminded me a lot of friendships I have had in the past, and have now. It is important to be there for one another when we are needed.
At the same time, every single joke landed. The comedy in this movie is top-notch. There are lines that will have kids cracking up, but also ones that adults will understand. We have all had that celebrity or band member who makes us sweat and makes our hearts pound just by looking at them. Kpop Demon Hunters leans into that relatability perfectly.
Kpop Demon Hunters Features A Plethora Of Catchy Songs

It should come as no surprise that a movie called Kpop Demon Hunters has a lot of featured songs. These are all original, with popular Kpop group TWICE lending their voices to one (stay through the credits for some fun behind-the-scenes clips!). Each and every song is memorable and catchy.
They are brilliantly performed, often added to epic fight sequences or grand stage performances. One song in particular – I will not tell you which one – is part of what had me crying my eyes out. Not only do I need this soundtrack now, I need it on vinyl. Please and thank you, Netflix.
The Battle Sequences Are Epic

Speaking of the battle sequences, this is one place where Kpop Demon Hunters really shines. As many of them take place during a song, there are strategic dance moves used to take down enemies, something that is a lot of fun to watch. Of course, when the girls and boys go head to head, the action is at its best.
The Animation Is Stunning

The animation in Kpop Demon Hunters is gorgeous. You only need to look at the trailer to figure that out. When we are following the girls, for the most part colors are bright and fun. The scenery pops with pinks and purples.
For the boys, the backgrounds and designs are a lot darker. They are demons after all. On that same note, the design of the demons is fantastic. Whimsical at times, terrifying at others.
Overall Thoughts

Kpop Demon Hunters is an absolute blast. This is one that viewers of all ages will have a good time with, but, as expected, the key demographic is tweens, teens, and adults that love Kpop music.
Get ready to fall in love with (most) of the characters – even those you love to hate. Have tissues handy and keep your fingers crossed for a sequel. There are a lot of places this story can go.
