The Critical Role panel delivered exciting news for fans, spotlighting their upcoming animated series The Mighty Nein while dropping a few major updates on The Legend of Vox Machina.
The main focus of the panel was The Mighty Nein, based on Critical Role’s second campaign. The show follows a ragtag group of outcasts and fugitives who are thrown together by circumstance. When a powerful magical artifact known as “The Beacon” falls into dangerous hands, the group must put their differences aside to protect the realm—and reality itself—from unraveling.
We were introduced to the show’s primary antagonists: the Volstruckers, a deadly group of wizard assassins. Sam Riegel described them as ruthless and trauma-fueled, and a clip shown to attendees at the Indigo Ballroom backed that up. The footage featured an intense, bloody heist where the Volstruckers used dark magic and brutal force to slaughter guards while hunting for the Beacon. The animation looked flawless, highlighting just how formidable this group will be.
The Mighty Nein San Diego Comic-Con Clip & Details
Another exclusive clip gave fans their first look at the titular heroes, The Mighty Nein. The first time we meet them, they’re in hot water—being interrogated after a mission goes horribly wrong, resulting in bodies, transformations, and a mysterious creature escaping. The scene introduced six members of the group: Nott the Brave, Caleb Widogast, Jester Lavorre, Fjord Stone, Beauregard Lionett, and Mollymauk Tealeaf. The chemistry between them was instantly apparent, with Nott and Jester stealing the scene. The humor and chaos felt like something out of Guardians of the Galaxy, setting the tone for a darker but still irreverent adventure.
The voice cast is stacked, with all the original players returning:
Marisha Ray as Beauregard “Beau” Lionett
Taliesin Jaffe as Mollymauk “Molly” Tealeaf
Ashley Johnson as Yasha Nydoorin
Liam O’Brien as Caleb Widogast
Travis Willingham as Fjord Stone
Laura Bailey as Jester Lavorre
Sam Riegel as Nott the Brave
Matthew Mercer as Essek Thelyss
Joining them are some major guest stars: Mark Strong, Alan Cumming, Tim McGraw, Anika Noni Rose, Ming-Na Wen, Auli’i Cravalho, Rahul Kohli, Robbie Daymond, and Jonathan Frakes.
Mighty Nein premieres November 19 and is being billed as a darker, more intense series than Vox Machina.
As for The Legend of Vox Machina, fans were thrilled to learn that it has been officially renewed through season 5—which will also be its final season. Season 4 arrives in 2026 and introduces a new party member, Taryon Darrington, as the crew attempts to break into the mysterious Cobalt Archive.
Sam Riegel and Travis Willingham expressed their gratitude to the fans, saying they never expected to make it this far and are honored to tell the complete story.
Marvel’s Eyes of Wakanda features stunning animation and a great exploration of Wakandan lore. That said, the stories aren’t cohesive enough to keep viewers interested all the way through.
Marvel’s Eyes of Wakanda features four episodes that follow Wakandan lore as representatives are sent into the world to steal back ancient vibranium artifacts and return them to their rightful place. While the stories themselves do connect, they are more or less stand-alone episodes, at least until the finale ties things together.
Easily the best part of Eyes of Wakanda is the stunning animation. The unique style combines CG animation with painterly textures and stylized 2D effects, creating something that is a feast for the eyes, so to speak. Each episode features several action-packed sequences where the style is really shown off, and to say that viewers will be captivated is an understatement.
Reminiscent of what one would suspect is purely concept art, each and every scene is beautiful, with many details to take in. When it comes to the clothing, hair, and makeup, this series is on a whole other level than many that have come before it. As someone who is a fan of Marvel’s What If…?, it is exciting to see a new and unique animation style step into the spotlight.
Interesting Stories.. But They Aren’t Cohesive Enough
The four episodes of Eyes of Wakanda tell four distinct stories that tie together in the final moments of the final episode. Each story features an artifact that must be tracked down by a Wakandan hero, even if it means that they leave their home for years, and returned to its rightful place. While there are exciting Easter eggs and references that Marvel fans will be able to pick out here and there, it doesn’t rely on the viewer’s knowledge of Marvel for it to make sense, something many will surely appreciate.
My biggest issue comes in the form of the overall arc that these episodes tell. Everything does end up connecting, but in a very quick and lackluster way. Each story is related, yes, but it almost feels like the way they do was a last minute thought by the writers to make it make sense.
Perhaps the reason this stands out so much is because Predator: Killer of Killers just did the same type of thing, in a much better way. Part of me wishes that Eyes of Wakanda was released first, or much further down the road, so that I had a harder time comparing the two. The cohesiveness is there, it just isn’t enough, which is disappointing.
Marvel’s Eyes of Wakanda is beautiful to look at. The stories are a bit slow, but the action sequences are exciting enough for that to be forgiven. While the stories do connect in the end, it almost feels like an afterthought. Still, it is exciting to see characters and references mixed into this Wakandan lore in unexpected ways.
Marvel Animation’s new action-adventure series Eyes of Wakanda follows the adventures of brave Wakandan warriors throughout history. In this globe-trotting adventure, the heroes must carry-out dangerous missions to retrieve Vibranium artifacts from the enemies of Wakanda. They are the Hatut Zaraze and this is their story.
Featuring the voices of Winnie Harlow, Cress Williams, Patricia Belcher, Larry Herron, Adam Gold, Lynn Whitfield, Jacques Colimon, JonaXiao, Isaac Robinson-Smith, Gary Anthony Williams, Zeke Alton, Steve Toussaint and Anika Noni Rose, “Eyes of Wakanda” is helmed by director/executive producer Todd Harris, with Ryan Coogler executive producing.
The show is also executive produced by Brad Winderbaum, Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito and Dana Vasquez-Eberhardt, and Proximity Media’s Zinzi Coogler, Sev Ohanian and Kalia King.
San Diego Comic-Con 2025 horror interviews include Whistle, The Long Walk, and Clown In A Cornfield. Learn all the behind-the-screams secrets.
San Diego Comic-Con is a whirlwind of pop culture, and this year, the Mama’s Geeky team are devilering exclusive insights into the most anticipated horror projects on the horizon.
Tessa Smith, Jamie Jirak, and Rachel Tolleson each sat down with the creative minds and talented stars behind several chilling ventures, offering a glimpse behind the screams and into the making of Whistle, The Long Walk, and Clown In A Cornfield.
Tessa Smith kicked off the horror interviews with the dynamic duo of Dafne Keen and Sophie Nélisse, the stars of the upcoming horror film Whistle. Keen, known for her roles in Logan, Deadpool & Wolverine, His Dark Materials, and The Acolyte, and Nélisse, celebrated for her gripping performance in Yellowjackets, were eager to discuss the eerie premise of this upcoming horror.
The film centers around a group of friends who unearth an ancient Aztec whistle. Unbeknownst to them, blowing the whistle summons their demise. The narrative follows their desperate attempts to outrun their impending doom, all while unexpected romantic relationships blossom amidst the chaos.
Keen and Nélisse hinted at the film’s surprisingly high level of gore, exceeding their initial expectations upon reading the script. They emphasized that if visceral horror is your preference, Whistle certainly delivers.
Beyond the scares, they described it as a fun watch, the kind of movie best experienced with friends, complete with shared jump scares and the communal thrill of a horror flick. They fondly recalled the cast’s bonding experience, including a cozy movie night watching The Lost Boys, highlighting a genuine connection that they believe translates onto the screen, adding an unexpected layer of heartwarming moments amidst the terror.
Keen and Nélisse enthusiastically spoke about the advantages of working with practical effects, noting how it enhances believability and makes their performances as actors more immersive. While filming the intense finale presented physical challenges, they agreed that those strenuous moments often lead to the most memorable on-set experiences and the best stories.
Without giving away too much, both actresses hinted at the wild and exciting nature of the film’s climax, a scene they were both eager and slightly apprehensive to shoot due to its complexity.
The Long Walk Promises To Be A Faithful Adaptation
Jamie Jirak had the pleasure of interviewing Producer Roy Lee (known for his work on Barbarian and countless other horror hits) and Writer JT Mollner (the creative force behind Strange Darling) about their adaptation of Stephen King’s chilling novel, The Long Walk.
Lee and Mollner discussed the evolving landscape of Comic-Con and expressed their delight at the strong reception horror now receives at what was once a strictly comic-centric event. They noted the numerous adaptations of Stephen King’s work over the years and pondered why The Long Walk, in particular, had taken so long to reach the screen, despite previous attempts involving legendary filmmakers like Frank Darabont and potentially George Romero.
Mollner suggested that timing and luck played a significant role in this iteration, with Lee bringing him and director Francis Lawrence together at the opportune moment, coinciding with Lionsgate’s interest in the project. Lee emphasized the remarkably swift development of the film, with the entire process from acquiring the book rights to wrapping production taking under two years.
When the topic shifted to director Francis Lawrence, Jamie humorously questioned his apparent fascination with teenagers in peril. Mollner praised Lawrence as an exceptionally easy collaborator, noting their shared vision for the film and his openness to the writer’s input, especially since Lawrence doesn’t typically write his own movies. Lawrence expressed his commitment to a faithful thematic adaptation of King’s novel, with no intention of holding back on the darker aspects, aiming for a full-fledged, rated R, Stephen King experience.
Roy Lee, no stranger to Stephen King adaptations, addressed the crucial element of maintaining the authenticity of the author’s work. He emphasized the importance of capturing the essence of King’s stories and highlighted the practice of seeking King’s approval on their creative decisions throughout the process, ensuring a respectful and faithful adaptation.
The conversation then turned to the casting of Cooper Hoffman in a central role. Both Lee and Mollner lauded Hoffman’s talent, recognizing his potential after seeing him in Licorice Pizza. They felt he perfectly embodied the character, possessing a necessary innocence coupled with an inner steel. Mollner shared an anecdote illustrating Hoffman’s dedication to his craft, revealing that the young actor deliberately avoided meeting Mark Hamill during production to maintain a necessary distance for his character.
Clown In A Cornfield: Frendo Will Be Back for More
Rachel Tolleson caught up with the creative duo behind the slasher hit Clown In A Cornfield: Director Eli Craig and Novelist Adam Cesare. Returning to Comic-Con after the film’s initial success, they were thrilled by the continued enthusiasm for their terrifying creation, particularly the immersive cornfield maze activation at the convention, complete with their menacing clown Friendo. They reported overwhelming lines for the maze, with attendees enduring long waits for a truly frightening experience, a testament to the film’s impact.
Craig and Cesare reflected on the film’s journey since its premiere at SXSW, noting the consistently enthusiastic reactions from various audiences. Craig humorously mentioned his initial intention of blending horror with comedy, perhaps aiming for a tone similar to his previous work on Tucker & Dale vs Evil. However, he found that the comedic moments in Clown In A Cornfield, while present, hit harder than anticipated despite a greater focus on suspense, character development, and pure horror.
Cesare praised the film’s successful balance of terror and dark humor, where the brutal moments are often punctuated with a sense of twisted satisfaction, suggesting the victims deserve it – just a little bit.
Cesare, as the author of the original novel, shared his surreal experience of seeing his creation come to life, from writing about the fictional town of Kettle Springs to physically standing in a Comic-Con activation themed around it. He expressed immense gratitude for the adaptation and his positive working relationship with Craig, contrasting it with the well-known tensions that have sometimes arisen between authors and filmmakers. Craig reciprocated the praise, affirming his long-standing admiration for Cesare’s work and his belief that the film perfectly captured the book’s tone.
Excitingly, they dropped some major news: Clown In A Cornfield 2 is officially in the works! They teased the inherent appeal of slasher sequels and the creative challenge of finding new ways to twist the knife, so to speak, while keeping the story fresh and engaging for fans, even hinting at the occasional desire to surprise or even slightly upset expectations.
Cesare expressed his admiration for the way Friendo both kills and gets killed in the first film, a dynamic not always seen in the slasher genre. Craig hinted at delving into even more creative and gruesome kills in the sequel, referencing a humorous anecdote about George Romero’s approach to Dawn of the Dead, simply instructing Tom Savini to start thinking of ways to kill people.

San Diego Comic-Con 2025 Phineas and Ferb panel highlights. They are back and better than ever.
At San Diego Comic-Con, Mama’s Geeky covered the long-awaited Phineas and Ferb panel, and trust us—you’re going to want to hear these updates. After a decade away, the gang is officially back with a brand-new season. The first 10 episodes are now streaming on Hulu and airing on Disney Channel, with more episodes on the way.
The panel kicked off with a burst of nostalgia as the iconic theme song played and the crowd sang along in unison. Co-creators Dan Povenmire (Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz) and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh (Major Monogram) took the stage, joined by cast members Vincent Martella (Phineas), David Errigo Jr. (Ferb), Ashley Tisdale (Candace), Dee Bradley Baker (Perry the Platypus), and Alyson Stoner (Isabella).
Fans got a first look at Cartoonified with Phineas and Ferb, a new series of shorts where the boys transform real-life celebrities into cartoon versions of themselves to join in on wild adventures. The first guest? Kylie Cantrall (Descendants: The Rise of Red). Future shorts will feature stars like Walker Scobell and Xochitl Gomez, with more surprise guests coming in 2026 across Disney Channel and its digital platforms.
Onstage, the cast’s chemistry was as strong as ever. Dee Bradley Baker joked that the secret to voicing Perry was “six years of Juilliard… and hoping Dan and Jeff like what they hear.” The creators teased that their favorite episode this season is Lord of the Firesides—one they can’t wait for fans to finally see. They promised that when the next 10 episodes drop, everything fans have been hoping for will be delivered. They also teased some major guest stars ahead—though names weren’t revealed, we did learn that Meap is now voiced by none other than John Stamos.
Of course, no Phineas and Ferb panel would be complete without a fan Q&A. One fan asked if we’ll get more Star Wars episodes, to which Dan and Jeff replied, “We hope to do more—we really want to do Empire and Return of the Jedi.” Another fan asked about the cast’s favorite song, and both Vincent and Dan agreed on Summer Belongs to You, calling it “so pivotal and meaningful to the show.”
There’s a lot for fans to get excited about—including Phineas and Ferb Funko Pops! The main trio is available for pre-order now, with more figures dropping this fall. A few select Audience members who came dressed to impress walked away with some of these funkos signed by those on stage.
You can catch up on the original series now on Hulu and Disney+, with 10 new episodes already out and 10 more coming later this year. It’s safe to say—summer just got a whole lot better.
Twisted Metal Season 2 has double the chaos, double the insanity, and double the epic action! The stakes have never been higher. New and returning cast all bring their A-game.

Twisted Metal Season 2 had me kicking my feet with glee because it is bonkers in the best way possible. This season is wilder, crazier, and far more violent than the last. Fans of the video game will be thrilled as we finally dive into the games. With incredible new cast members joining the amazing returnees, everyone brought their A-game to deliver a wild and crazy ride!
Twisted Metal Season 2 Brings Back The Feeling Of Playing The Games
TWISTED METAL — S2 — Pictured: (l-r) Stephanie Beatriz as Quiet, Saylor Bell as Mayhem — (Photo by: Pief Weyman/PEACOCK)
Showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith’s primary goal for Twisted Metal Season 2 is clear: to replicate the pure joy and chaotic fun of playing the game. Forget just adapting a plot; Smith aims to capture the visceral thrill of dodging missiles, blowing up friends, and launching off ramps. If you’re not grinning from ear to ear while watching, he feels he hasn’t done his job, he revealed during our interview. This season promises to lean even further into those signature Twisted Metal elements, guaranteeing more of the outlandish spectacles fans crave.
But amidst the explosions and twisted metal, there’s a surprising amount of heart. It is almost impossible not to care for these characters, even the homicidal maniacs (of which there are many). I found myself rooting for everyone, especially for Jon and Quiet, and even understanding the unhinged nature of characters like Raven and Mr. Grimm. This delicate balance of unhinged action and genuine emotional connection is what truly makes the show tick, offering a satisfying push and pull that will keep audiences invested. It sure had me on the edge of my seat.

The return of fan-favorite duos like Sweet Tooth and Stu brings an immediate sense of comfortable chaos. This season sees their relationship evolve, hinting at a surprising father-son dynamic that is equal parts hilarious and chaotic.
The casting of Anthony Carrigan as Calypso, with his unique blend of boisterousness, sensitivity, and almost Willy Wonka-esque charm, further highlights this commitment to well-rounded, captivating characters.
Epic Stunts & Eye-Catching Costumes Will Keep Viewers Invested

The dedication to bringing these iconic characters to life is evident in the meticulous work of the costume and makeup departments. From painted teeth to intricate custom outfits, these elements were crucial in helping the cast fully embody their psychotic alter egos, which they expressed in our interviews.
The stunt work in Season 2 is also set to be a major highlight. The cast, including Saylor Bell Curda (Mayhem), Tiana Okoye (Dollface), and Patty Guggenheim (Raven), shared their enthusiasm for the physical demands of the show. Many did a significant portion of their own stunts, embracing the bruises and bumps as badges of honor. Even with the support of an “amazing” stunt team, the actors’ commitment to performing their own choreography and engaging in the vehicular chaos adds an authentic, high-octane energy to the series. The showrunner’s hands-on involvement in costume design further underscores the collaborative effort to create a visually striking and true-to-character experience.
A Ride Worth Taking
Twisted Metal Season 2 takes everything fans loved about the first season and dials it up to eleven. It blends over-the-top action and genuine emotional stakes, coupled with dedicated performances and incredible stunt work. Surprisingly, I found myself shedding tears during some scenes, while on the edge of my seat rooting for violence in others.
This season is an even more exhilarating and satisfying experience than I could have ever imagined. Get ready for more explosions, more laughs, and a few tears, as the world of Twisted Metal gets bigger, bolder, and more beautifully bonkers. With that ending, if there is not a third season, I will riot. Who is coming with me?
James Gunn brought Peacemaker Season 2 to San Diego Comic-Con 2025. The cast shared exclusive clips for attending fans.
James Gunn and the Peacemaker Crew Blow the Roof Off Hall H with Season 2 Teases
Hot off the buzz from Superman, James Gunn returned to Hall H to drop explosive updates on Season 2 of Peacemaker. He didn’t come alone—joining him on stage were series stars John Cena (Peacemaker), Danielle Brooks (Adebayo), Jennifer Holland (Harcourt), Freddie Stroma (Vigilante), Steve Agee (Economos), Frank Grillo (Rick Flag Sr.), Sol Rodriguez (Sasha Bordeaux), and newcomer Tim Meadows (Langston Fleury). And yes—they came to wow.
The panel kicked off with a bang: the debut of the Season 2 trailer (now online), met with a roar from the crowd. Gunn took the stage to confirm that Peacemaker Season 2 picks up just a month after the events of Superman. This time, the series will feature major DC characters including Green Lantern/Guy Gardner (Nathan Fillion), Hawkgirl/Kendra Saunders (Isabela Merced), and Maxwell Lord (Sean Gunn), with more surprise appearances teased.
This season sees Peacemaker basking in a twisted parallel dimension—he’s happy, in love with Harcourt, and celebrated as a hero. But back in the real world, Harcourt is in a dark place, and Rick Flag Sr. is hunting Peacemaker for killing his son. Meanwhile, Adebayo is on her own path, trying to convince Chris that the grass isn’t always greener, and he belongs with his team.
Peacemaker Season 2 Clips Revealed At SDCC 2025
Fans were treated to two exclusive clips:
The first clip featured Harcourt in a bar brawl, taking on everyone in the bar in a fight that turned bloody and brutal. The choreography was next-level—if this is a sign of what’s to come, the action this season has been seriously dialed up.
The second clip showed Tim Meadows’ Langston and Steve Agee’s Economos eavesdropping on a heart-to-heart between Peacemaker and Adebayo. What stole the scene? A hilariously absurd exchange about “bird blindness” that had all of Hall H in stitches. Meadows fits right into this misfit crew, bringing fresh comedic energy.
There are even more surprises: Jennifer Holland will have her own “Dirty Dancing” moment in the new opening dance number. Gunn teased that this season is more violent, more mature, and “definitely not for kids.” He also revealed the Season 2 finale is his favorite thing he’s ever filmed—while episodes 1, 6, and 8 were particular standouts for the cast.
Fan-favorite Eagly also gets a full-on fight scene this season—and is being hunted by Red St. Wild (Michael Rooker), a ruthless eagle hunter. Gunn closed the panel by praising John Cena’s performance this season, saying he was blown away by Cena’s growth as an actor since Season 1 and called his work in Season 2 “truly impressive.”
Peacemaker returns August 21 at 9PM ET/PT on HBO Max. Get ready.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians Cast & EPs Tease Epic Season 2 Adventures and Character Journeys: Walker Scobell, Aryan Simhadri, & More.
The highly anticipated second season of Disney+’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians is on the horizon. At San Diego Comic-Con 2025 we were treated to an exclusive peek behind the curtain. The cast – Walker Scobell (“Percy Jackson”), Daniel Diemer (“Tyson”), Leah Sava Jeffries (“Annabeth Chase”), Charlie Bushnell (“Luke Castellan”), Aryan Simhadri (“Grover Underwood”), and Dior Goodjohn (“Clarisse La Rue”) – joined Executive Producers Jon Steinberg, Craig Silverstein, and Dan Shotz for an engaging discussion about the upcoming season, which plunges Percy and his friends into the perilous Sea of Monsters.
Season 2 picks up with Percy returning to Camp Half-Blood a year later, only to find his world in disarray. His friendship with Annabeth is shifting, he discovers a cyclops brother, Grover has vanished, and the camp faces a siege from Kronos’s forces. The journey ahead will take Percy off the map and into a dangerous quest where a secret fate awaits him.
Character Deep Dives: Growth, Sarcasm, and Seeking Help
Dior Goodjohn, who plays Clarisse La Rue, emphasized the importance of vulnerability. “What my character has taught me about myself is that it’s super important to ask for help from people and actually let people in,” Goodjohn shared. She noted that Clarisse, much like herself, is “hyper independent,” but this season “she learns what it means to be a leader in her own right… and at the same time she has to learn to trust people actually and let people help her finally.”
Aryan Simhadri elaborated on Grover’s unique perspective. “Grover very much kind of looks at relationships because he’s an empath,” Simhadri explained. “He can very clearly see the connections between different people, kind of like he’s looking at pieces on a chessboard.” Simhadri aspires to emulate Grover’s ability to objectively understand others’ needs, adding, “That is my like everlasting goal is to get to that place where I can kind of see these things objectively and just know what everyone needs in a given situation.” He also touched on the challenge of portraying Grover’s deeper, more serious moments, especially given the satyr’s empathetic nature and adolescent struggles, despite being “technically 24.”
For Walker Scobell, Percy’s trademark sarcasm is more than just humor. “I think in a way, that’s his defense mechanism,” Scobell noted. “He’s been from school to school, and I think the sarcasm is kind of a way to make light of the situation that he’s in.” Scobell admitted to sharing Percy’s impulsive nature: “Percy doesn’t think a lot of stuff through… I think that’s something that I also do a lot. I’ve realized sometimes I should just think about stuff a lot more before I just do it.”
Daniel Diemer, who brings Tyson to life, highlighted the cyclops’s inherent goodness. “Tyson’s really taught me that openness and sensitivity is a superpower of its own type,” Diemer said. “He’s very, very open, very, very loving from the moment that he meets anybody and willing to see the best in everyone.” Diemer found strength in embracing that vulnerability. The brotherly bond between Percy and Tyson, he confirmed, was “so easy” to create on screen, largely due to his genuine admiration for Scobell.
Bringing Mythology to Life: Practical Effects and Epic Sequences
The executive producers offered exciting details on the monumental task of translating the mythical world from page to screen. They revealed a deliberate shift in production for Season 2, moving away from volume stages to utilize more “crazy locations and building some crazy sets.”
One of the most challenging, yet rewarding, aspects was bringing Tyson’s single eye to life. The EPs praised Daniel Diemer’s performance, stating, “Without Daniel in the middle of that, you could do all of that math and it still doesn’t matter… his performance is so endearing and charming and smart and nuanced.” They explained the intricate process of creating a realistic single eye while preserving Diemer’s performance, a feat that required innovative technology to effectively track his expressions and movements.
Another massive undertaking was the chariot race, which the producers confirmed was almost entirely practical. “We didn’t have one CG horse in the entire sequence,” they stated. “It is all real horses.” They detailed the nine-day shoot involving 26 horses from the Calgary Stampede, all trained specifically for the custom-built track to ensure safety. It was a “biggest undertaking,” but thankfully, “not one single horse was hurt.”
Fan Love and Future Teases
The cast spoke about the overwhelming fan reception, which Charlie Bushnell described as “incredible” and “almost overwhelming.” He shared a humorous anecdote about the wide age range of the fanbase, recalling encounters with both a “jacked massive dude” at the gym and a group of 12-13-year-old girls, all equally enthusiastic fans of the show.
When asked to describe Season 2 with an emoji, Dior Goodjohn opted for a “giant ship and people crying but then also to a giant group of kids hugging at the top,” while Aryan Simhadri chose the “wave emoji” due to the constant presence of water. Walker Scobell picked an “explosion emoji,” and Leah Sava Jeffries suggested the “fencers” emoji, symbolizing sword fighting, or a “boat/cruise ship/ocean” emoji.
As for spoilers, Leah Sava Jeffries excitedly, if a little nervously, teased a “guinea pig scene” from the books that she could not wait to film. Charlie Bushnell also promised “a lot of action” and “a lot of fighting” in the final episode, calling it “insane” and “awesome.”
The executive producers also emphasized their close collaboration with author Rick Riordan, who is an integral “partner in all of that work,” helping to evolve the series while honoring the source material. This partnership ensures that both longtime fans and new viewers will be thrilled with the mythological adventures awaiting them in Percy Jackson and the Olympians Season 2.
The Strangers: Chapter 2 hosted a panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2025 during which filmmakers and the star teased the upcoming film.
The Scarecrow, Dollface, and Pin-Up Girl are back—and they’re more terrifying than ever.
At San Diego Comic-Con, Mama’s Geeky was on hand for The Strangers: Chapter 2 panel, featuring star and producer Madelaine Petsch, director/writer Renny Harlin, and producer Courtney Solomon. And they didn’t come empty-handed—they brought three chilling new clips and plenty of sinister teases.
Harlin summed up the escalation perfectly:
“The first film was a home invasion movie. Chapter 2 is a town invasion—on a much bigger scale.”
That scale was evident in the first clip, which opens with Maya (Petsch) running through the woods, desperately escaping danger, before stumbling onto a road. A car full of locals stops to help—but can she trust them? The tension is palpable as Maya, clearly traumatized, panics inside the vehicle. The doors lock, and her fear escalates. The scene captures the overwhelming claustrophobia and paranoia Maya is feeling—making the entire town feel like a trap.
The second clip felt like a nod to Halloween II. Maya wakes up alone in a deserted hospital. The hallways are empty, the doors locked. Suddenly, Scarecrow emerges with an axe, and what follows is a white-knuckle chase through the corridors. Maya hides, misdirects him, and narrowly escapes. It’s an intense, edge-of-your-seat sequence that highlights just how resourceful she’s become.
Petsch teased a particularly brutal moment in the film:
“Maya gets to show us all how badass she is this time around… There’s one scene that’s truly insane—brutal, violent—you’ll know exactly which one when you see it.”
The third clip, now available online, shows Maya inside an unfamiliar home—possibly the place where the two girls from the first clip brought her. Scarecrow breaks in, smashing through the bathroom door à la The Shining. He grabs Maya by the head and slams it into the door. As she tries to escape, he yanks a chunk of her hair out in a gruesome moment that Petsch says was very real:
“Part of my real hair was in that—so you’re seeing actual pain in that scene.”
Thankfully, Maya escapes through the window and continues her fight to survive.
Renny Harlin emphasized that they’ve been listening to fan feedback and are determined to deliver with this sequel. Chapter 3 will arrive shortly after, completing the trilogy and giving fans even more insight into the mysterious killers.
Producer Courtney Solomon added:
“There’s a lot to get excited about—and the clips we showed today are just the tip of the iceberg.”
SDCC 2025: Anne Rice’s Immortal Universe: Press Conference and After-Party Recap. The cast of both series attended and teased what’s coming next.
AMC took San Diego Comic-Con by storm this year, with the spotlight shining brightly on its ever-expanding Immortal Universe. Mama’s Geeky was invited to attend an exclusive press conference and after-party celebrating both the highly anticipated new series The Talamasca: The Secret Order and the returning fan favorite Interview with the Vampire, now rebranded as The Vampire Lestat for Season 3.
The event was an unforgettable evening filled with great food, flowing libations, and fantastic conversations. We had the chance to meet a few of the cast and creatives from both series, including William Fichtner, Maisie Richardson-Sellers, and Eric Bogosian — and they were such a pleasure to chat with.

Daniel Hart (Composer)
Sam Reid (“Lestat de Lioncourt”)
Jacob Anderson (“Louis de Pointe du Lac”)
Eric Bogosian (“Daniel Molloy”)
Anne Rice’s The Talamasca: What You Need to Know
The press conference began with an in-depth look at The Talamasca, a thrilling new series that follows a secretive society dedicated to tracking supernatural entities such as vampires, witches, and werewolves. Season 1 will primarily focus on vampires and witches, but future seasons promise to expand the mythos even further — though, as Mark Lafferty noted, “We’re not introducing new creatures just to do it. Everything has to feel earned.”
The cast described the first season as a genre-bending ride — thrilling, emotional, and surprisingly funny. Maisie Richardson-Sellers shared, “I’m excited for audiences to see the blend of genres — it’s a traditional spy show with the supernatural mixed in, and it really works.”
John Lee Hancock added, “We wanted Talamasca to feel like a restaurant down the street from the others in the Immortal Universe — it’s connected, but it stands on its own. Crossovers are treated as organic surprises, not obligations.”
The show also stands out for its deeply flawed and human characters, despite the supernatural setting. As Richardson-Sellers put it, “It felt like anyone could be a vampire. The real world and the Immortal world blend together so well that, while filming, I kept looking over my shoulder expecting something to be lurking in the shadows.”
The Talamasca premieres **Sunday, October 26th at 9/8c on AMC.
The Vampire Lestat: A New Chapter Begins
Next, the spotlight shifted to the third season of Interview with the Vampire, now officially titled The Vampire Lestat. This season shifts perspective, putting Lestat front and center as he reclaims his story — with a rock star twist. Inspired by Anne Rice’s second novel, The Vampire Lestat, this new season promises to be a bold and introspective journey.
Composer Daniel Hart discussed how music plays a crucial role this season. “We didn’t want the songs to just move the plot forward — they had to feel raw, vulnerable, and emotionally honest. That’s how Lestat expresses himself.” Hart cited Robert Plant and classic rock influences as a foundation for Lestat’s musical persona, while Jacob Anderson revealed that if Lestat were to sing a cover for Louis, it would be “Bloodsport” — one of Anderson’s own songs.
Showrunner Rolin Jones teased that Season 3 explores the theme of mortality through Lestat’s eyes:
“He’s been a performative vampire for so long. But this time, he’s confronting something deeper. There’s a transformation happening — it’s thrilling, terrifying, and something Lestat is not prepared for. It’s a real Hamlet situation.”
Sam Reid and Jacob Anderson both expressed excitement about the emotional depths this season explores, promising fans a powerful evolution in both storytelling and performance.
Interview with the Vampire season 3 is set to premiere in 2026.

Michael Jonathan Smith (Showrunner / Executive Producer / Writer) discusses what he hopes to bring to season two.
When adapting Twisted Metal, my goal wasn’t just to retell the story or the tournament; it was to capture the feeling of playing the game. I want audiences to watch the show with the biggest smile on their face, experiencing the absolute off-the-wall fun. We’re the only show with a character who can light his head on fire with a paper bag, and we’re leaning into even more of those Twisted Metal elements this season.
But you also have to care about these characters. I want you to love them, relate to them, and cheer on relationships like Jon and Quiet’s. Even the characters you love to hate, like Raven and Grimm, I want you to understand their unhinged nature and feel that push and pull of rooting for different contenders. It’s a tough balance, but that’s what I love about our show: there’s so much heart while still watching someone rip another character’s head off.
On casting Calypso, I’m a huge fan of Anthony Carrigan from Barry. I love his comedy, his ability to be both boisterous and sensitive, and how he can turn scary on a dime while still being vulnerable. He brought this fantastic Willy Wonka-ness to the character. Calypso isn’t just holding court; he’s a puppeteer and the ultimate audience surrogate, enjoying the machinations he’s created more than anyone. Anthony is incredibly fun to work with, always bringing great ideas and humor.
Returning to the Apocalypse: Sweet Tooth and Stu’s Bond
TWISTED METAL — Episode 203 — Pictured: (l-r) Mike Mitchell as Stu, Joe Seanoa as Sweet Tooth — (Photo by: PEACOCK)
Joe Seanoa (Sweet Tooth) and Mike Mitchell (Stu) discuss Twisted Metal season 2.
Joe Seanoa: Returning for Season 2 was awesome! The cast got along great in the first season, and we had a blast filming. There was a lot of excitement and eagerness to get back to work. Our new castmates are incredible, and our stunt team is phenomenal. I’m really happy with what fans will see this season.
Mike Mitchell: The first season was so crazy, setting up the tournament, and you just want to see what these maniacs can come up with. The world of Twisted Metal is already wild, with characters like Axel who have wheels for arms, and they pull it all off. There’s a great balance between the humor and the action. I’m a fan of the show myself, and I feel so lucky to be a part of it. Joe and I, we both have a bit of a nerdy background and loved the game growing up, so it’s awesome to be a part of this.
Joe Seanoa: The writers did a great job of making you fall in love with these sometimes homicidal maniacs. They show different sides to them, which makes you root for them even when you know a lot of people are going to die.
Regarding Sweet Tooth’s voice, yes, I’m on set delivering the lines. We want to put everyone in the best position for a great performance, and talking to a wall isn’t conducive to that.
Mike Mitchell: Our relationship evolves this season, becoming almost a father-son dynamic, which was so much fun to lean into. Stu and I both have a little brother energy, which helped. Joe was a big brother to me on and off set, giving advice and hanging out.
Joe Seanoa: Anytime Mike and I get to work together, it’s a fun endeavor. Getting to be a somewhat mentor and father figure to Stu was a blast, especially with Mike, who’s very huggable and easy to love on. You really want to help him out.
Mike Mitchell: Will Arnett is a legend and hilarious, adding a great level to Sweet Tooth, but Joe on set just knocks it out of the park. He’s such a great scene partner and nails every take. Everyone was always in awe of what Joe was doing.
Twisted Metal New Characters: Vermin, Mr. Grimm, and Axel

Lisa Gilroy (Vermin), Richard De Klerk (Mr. Grimm), Michael James Shaw (Axel) were thrilled to join this crazy series in its second season.
Lisa Gilroy: Being part of this cast is the best, the most fun! Everyone is incredibly talented and so nice. We’re all fun to hang out with between scenes, and I think you can feel that camaraderie on camera.

Richard De Klerk: I insisted on getting into my costume on my own. It’s a onesie with a zipper at the back, plus the straitjacket component. As soon as it all went on—gloves, makeup—it was game time.
Michael James Shaw: I looked forward to getting into costume every day. It was part of the journey. This cast was unique; we were a full-on ensemble, like my theater days. We were always together, playing ping pong, keeping the ball in the air, both on and off camera. Good vibes all around.
Lisa Gilroy: For me, I got my teeth painted every day, which was an interesting and cold part of the process! The makeup department, Rosie Holosko and Jenny Duckworth, are so unbelievable. It really helps you fit the vibe and feel as psychotic as you look. You’re like, “Okay, I’m in it now, I’m this other person.”
New Faces, Big Stunts: Dollface, Raven, and Mayhem

Tiana Okoye (Dollface), Patty Guggenheim (Raven), and Saylor Bell Curda (Mayhem) laugh their way through the interview, making it clear a lot of fun was had on the set of Twisted Metal season 2.
Saylor Bell Curda: Filming this show was so much fun! It was an opportunity for all of us to play these alter ego versions of ourselves, and it was so freeing and exciting. I was excited to go to work every single time and be Mayhem again. It’s an exciting show with the best people and the most action; it’s hard to encompass all the beauty in Season 2.
Patty Guggenheim: It’s very much an ensemble cast, which I love. You have to work together and allow everyone to have their moments, even though we’re doing the opposite in the tournament. There were so many days with lots of us on set, and those were just so much fun—hilarious, doing ridiculous stuff, playing larger-than-life characters. The second filming was over, we were all in our classroom, hanging out, ordering pizza, doing astrology readings!
Tiana Okoye: The costumes were phenomenal. Liz and the whole team did such an amazing job. I felt so in the zone when I was in costume and makeup. The showrunner, Michael Jonathan Smith, was so involved in the process, even during my makeup trial and costume fittings, making sure everything was true to the character and had that 90s flair. We even made a Pinterest board together.
Saylor Bell Curda: The stunts are insane! I did a lot of my own stunts, and I think we all did. We also had an amazing group of stunt performers—I had four or five just for me, two of whom were drivers for my quad, and one for my stunt choreography. I learned a lot of the choreography. I was constantly covered in bruises, and the medic would walk up to me every day and ask what I needed! But I was always ready because I didn’t want them to say I couldn’t do something. I even hit my head really badly at one point and thought I had a concussion, but I just wanted to go back to acting in the car.
Patty Guggenheim: I broke a nail, so, you know, similar to a concussion!
Following the revelations in the season one finale, John and Quiet find themselves entering the deadly TWISTED METAL tournament, a sinister demolition derby hosted by a mysterious man known as Calypso. As they try to survive an onslaught of dangerous new foes and familiar faces alike, including the murderous clown Sweet Tooth, things get complicated for John when he reunites with his long-lost sister, the vigilante Dollface.
