I remember growing up watching Mr. Peabody and Sherman. I love(d) them. So when I found out they had a show on Netflix, well of course I introduced my daughters to it! My 3 and 4 year old both watch it all the time now. I let my 4 year old know that new episodes were coming and now she asks me to watch them constantly. Just a few more days and they will be here so get ready. Be sure to tune in on March 18th with your little ones – this show is fun for the whole family!

Being a mother of two girls, and of course a girl myself, I could not be more excited about this collaboration. My husband and I are total nerds and are raising our daughters to be them as well. We are always doing experiments and projects as well as really focusing on STEM with them. They are only 3 and 4 but have already done a lot of cool things like building robots, raising ladybugs, and even starting to learn to code! The Girls Reforming the Future program is supported by the Science & Entertainment Exchange, a program of National Academy of Sciences, and seeks to inspire young girls to create positive world change for their generation and beyond through science and technology. One exceptional young woman will be selected to receive a one-week internship with Marvel Studios (a dream come true for this Marvel FanGirl!). The challenge invites girlsnationwide, ages 15 – 18, in grades 10 -12, to submit innovative STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics)-based projects that have the potential to change the world. Each applicant will be asked to submit a short video demonstrating her project and explaining how her science and technology-based project could make the world a better place. Five finalists will be selected to come to California and present their projects to a panel of experts. One grand prize winner will be selected from the five finalists to receive an internship with Marvel Studios.
Finalists will have the opportunity to inspire other young girls around the world by participating in a LIVE global Broadcom Masters webinar during which the girls will discuss how their STEM skills enabled them to create their projects and become a finalist of the Captain American Civil War: Girls Reforming the Future Challenge. The Grand Prize Winner will share her MARVEL STUDIOS Internship experience, giving girls everywhere a peak into STEM skills in action outside the lab and the classroom.
Each finalist will receive: Two round-trip tickets to Southern California for the finalist and her parent or guardian, including scheduled meals, ground transportation to and from organized activities, hotel accommodations, from April 10 through April 13, 2016; an opportunity to be on the red carpet at the World Premiere of Marvel’s “Captain America: Civil War” at the Dolby Theatre® in Dolby Atmos® and Dolby Vision™ on April 12, 2016; a tour of the Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, California; and $500.00, deposited into a High Yield Savings account with Synchrony Bank.

My husband and I took our girls to go see The Peanuts Movie in theaters the weekend that it came out. They loved it so much (and so did we!) that they have been begging to get it on Blu-Ray nearly every day since. Well, this past weekend (March 8th), The Peanuts Movie finally arrived on DVD and Blu-Ray and to help celebrate, we threw a Peanuts Movie Night! Now, every weekend we have a family movie night but this weekend’s was so much better than normal! Thanks for Fox Home Entertainment and the Fox Insiders, we were able to go all out! We even received the Limited Edition Gift Set which includes a Flying Ace Snoopy Plush (and we got an extra one so BONUS – no fighting over who gets to sleep with him)!
We have been blessed with warm weather here in Upstate New York recently so the plan was to head outside and try out our brand new Charlie Brown kite and baseballs! Unfortunately, rain came and didn’t leave all weekend so we had to stay inside. Thankfully we had the whole line of McDonald’s toys to keep the girls busy! They were so excited to finally complete their set (we only had a few from the time The Peanuts Movie was the toy at our local one). We were all also really excited about the coasters, which converted into a mini football and goal post. This was a lot of fun for the girls (and yes, my husband and I had a blast as well). We also played a fun game of The Peanuts Movie Uno and – fun fact – this was the first time my girls played this game. They did great with it and my 4 year old actually won (all on her own!).
There were so many other goodies that we got to make our Peanuts Movie Night special – Flying Ace hats for the girls, The Peanuts Movie tumblers, a Peanuts PEZ set, Charlie Brown T-Shirts, Horizon Organic Peanuts sandwich crackers, and of course ALL detergent to help clean up any mess that we might make. We were all thrilled to be watching the movie again. I personally love it because they bring back so much that I remember from my childhood, as well as make it new again. Don’t ask me how they did it, but it created the perfect amount of nostalgia. The movie is incredible – and I may have even teared up at the end. This is a great family film and I highly encourage you to pick it up. It is the perfect family movie night film!
My daughters have already asked if we can have a Peanuts Movie Night again – this time with their friends and/or cousins over. I guess I better get ready!

1. Create your own Charlie Brown Shirt using a plain yellow T-shirt and a black sharpie. 2. Create your own Flying Ace costume with a red scarf, sunglasses or swimming goggles, and a green beanie. 3. Pick up some Peanuts related snacks to serve. 4. Play paper finger football if you are inside – or try your hand at kicking a football outside if the weather is nice (but don’t have Lucy hold the ball for you!). 5. If you have a piano, let the kids give it a try! Maybe they can channel their inner Schroeder! 6. Set out any Peanuts toys that you have for the kids to play with before, during, and after the movie. 7. Grab your favorite blanket and cuddle up to enjoy the show (just like Linus!). 8. Print out these fun activity sheets and leave them out for the kiddos (help them complete when needed).
The Peanuts Movie Synopsis
Life always seems complicated for good ol’ Charlie Brown (Noah Schnapp), the boy who always tries his best against seemingly impossible odds. When the Little Red-Haired Girl moves into his neighborhood, Charlie Brown develops a crush on her. Meanwhile, his best friend Snoopy embarks on an epic adventure in a fantasy world. Star Wars: The Force Awakens shattered box office records upon its debut to become the cinematic event of a generation with over $926 million domestic and $2 billion worldwide. I saw it the night it opened and it was incredible! I cannot wait to see it again when it comes to DVD/Blu-Ray. I just know that I will catch a lot more the second time around. I honestly think that even new fans that have not seen the rest of the series will love the film. It was so well made.

Last night you lost an hour to Daylight Savings…or perhaps it was stolen? Synopsis

I recently got a box full of goodies from Tastefully Simple. It was their Easter Collection and designed to help you with practically every part of the meal for Easter Dinner. I was so excited to dig in and start baking and cooking. My absolute favorite recipe is the Robin’s Nest Cake. It was really easy even though it looks somewhat daunting. Oh, and it was delicious! While it can be down with any cake or cake mix, here is the Tastefully Simple version:
Ingredients
1 package Absolutely Almond Pound Cake Mix
1 cup Water
1 1/2 sticks of melted butter
1/2 cup Rhubarb Strawberry Fruit Spread
1 8 oz. package Softened Cream Cheese
1 16 oz. container Chocolate Frosting
1 bottle Decorative Chocolate Cupcake Icing with Tips
1 10 oz. package Robin Egg Candies (I prefer the Cadbury milk chocolate eggs but any will work)
Directions
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Prepare the Absolutely Almond Pound Cake according to package directions (mix with water and melted butter).
In Medium bowl, combine cream cheese and Rhubarb Strawberry Fruit Spread.
Place half the cake batter in a greased Bundt pan.
Dollop with cream cheese mixture.
Pour remaining batter in pan.
Bake 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Remove from oven and cool for 10 minutes in pan.
Remove from pan and cool completely.
Frost with chocolate frosting.
Using the straight drawing tip on the decorative icing, draw lines all over the cake creating the look of a nest.
Fill center of cake with robin egg candies.
This is just about 170 calories per slice – perfect to indulge in when Spring hits!

I was lucky enough to see this short at the D23 Expo last summer. It made me laugh hysterically – exactly what I would have expected. It is one of the special features on the Inside Out Blu-Ray and if you have not seen it, now is your chance! It is fantastic! I have two girls and I just know this day is coming. My girls are thrilled and cannot wait for season 2! My 4 year old has a TV in her room (yea, I know) and she gets an hour of Netflix a day and when I showed her this clip, she asked if she can watch DINOTRUX for her whole hour tonight! I was nice and let her watch 4 episodes. She is obsessed now (she is a bit of a tomboy) and has been singing the theme song all around the house. I watched quite a bit of it with her as well and really enjoyed it. It is definitely one of those shows parents can enjoy with their children.
DINOTRUX SEASON 2 SYNOPSIS
Ty and his best friend Revvit are back, building and battling in an all-new DINOTRUX Season 2! The turf war escalates when D-Structs unveils a buzz-saw tail, battles with battering-ram Skya and kidnaps Revvit. Together the team saves the Ottos from a meteor crash, goes underground to escape the Desert Scraptors and builds a racetrack with Ton-Ton’s friends the Dumps. The fun never ends with the crew that’s half dinosaur, half truck and all awesome! From Dreamworks Animation, DINOTRUX Season 2 premieres March 11, only on Netflix.
New Characters & Species
ROLLODON (MONTANOCERATOPS + STEAMROLLER): Steamrollers crossed with Chasmosaurs, the powerful Rollodons are always on the move, migrating in herds like wild buffalo and flattening everything in their path. They use their giant rollers to crack and churn ore out of the ground, eating on the go, and their simple jaw structure allows them to say only one word: “roll.”
GLUPHOSAUR (DILOPHOSAURS + GLUE GUNS): Lightning fast and fiercely protective of their treasured green ore, gluphosaurs will spit sticky glue at any Trux who dares get too close!
TOWACONSTRICTOR (SNAKE + TOW CHAINS): Slithering metallic snakes of the Mechazoic World, these rattlers can cause trouble for anyone who ventures too close to their nest in The Dark Forest… but they can also be convinced to link together to form long tow cables to help a Trux or Tool in need.
SCRAPTOR WITH GIANT HORN: Sun-bleached and with crooked metal horns growing out of their heads, desert scraptors hide underground, using ore to lure unwitting Trux to their secret trap doors where they pounce out and attack. Creatures of instinct, they honor a very specific system of hierarchy and rank, following the “Alpha Scraptor” with the biggest horns.
