National Super Hero Day 2019 is nearly here, and I have some great suggestions to help you celebrate! This day falls on April 28th, which is perfect timing for those that have been waiting for Avengers: Endgame to hit theaters. Of course, two days after it has already come out, the biggest fans will likely have already seen it. But there are other things you can do to channel your inner hero on this day.

My family loves to game together. We enjoy all types of games, especially video games and board games. But our newest favorite is a combination of both of these – Mansions of Madness. The last few Sundays have become our day to play and we have loved the bonding experience. This is a co-op game, so it is one that we play all together. The box says ages 14+ because it is super creepy – I mean, we are fighting monsters and creatures – but my girls are 6 and 7 and they LOVE it.
If you follow me on social media or this site, then you know I spent last weekend at Star Wars Celebration 2019. To say it was amazing was an understatement. Sure, my flight home was cancelled due to Chicago weather and I was “stuck” another day. But I made the best of it with my friend and fellow The Geekly Show host, Amiyrah from 4 Hats and Frugal. These 5 days were filled with laughter, chills, and even tears.
My daughters love to read – especially my 7 year old. She is also always asking questions, and wanting to learn. That is why The Questioneers are such great books for her. She loved the Rosie Revere one, and has actually read it several times. So when I told her there was another one coming out AND that we were getting a copy of it, she was over the moon! She started reading Ada Twist immediately, and finished it in just two days.
Earlier this week we learned a lot about the new Disney+ streaming service, and there are honestly so many shows that I am excited for. It seems like all of my favorite Marvel characters are making their way to the small screen and I cannot wait. But one show in particular I have been waiting to hear more details about since it was announced, The Mandalorian. This is going to be the FIRST live action Star Wars television show, which is a big deal.
My husband LOVES Mulligatawny soup, but since we are trying to consistently eat keto now, it is something we have had to skip. Normally this soup contains more celery, carrots, white rice, flour, and apples – and well, these don’t exactly qualify as low carb and keto ingredients. Because of this, we decided to make our own version of Mulligatawny soup that is keto approved. Spoiler alert guys, it came out AMAZING! My kids even devoured it!
I am a big gamer, and so is my entire family. We are also huge Star Wars fans so when I found out that the new Star Wars game Jedi: Fallen Order was going to have a panel at Star Wars Celebration, I had to be there. What I saw at the panel, has me so HYPED for this game. I cannot wait to get it in November and take a week off to just sit and play it (I wish). The story line, the characters, and those Purge Troopers won me over.
If you know me, you know I am a Disney fanatic. We are Disney Vacation Club members and last year we spent more than 30 days in the parks. So to say we are excited for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is an understatement. We have been counting down the days and the year is finally here. Today I attended the Bringing Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge to Life at Disney Parks panel at Star Wars Celebration, and now I am even more hyped.
Oh my goodness guys… we just got the Star Wars Episode IX trailer and it was EVERYTHING! If you missed the news, I am HERE at Star Wars Celebration and YES, I was at the panel where they released the trailer. The fact that I was in the room during this epic moment was surreal. I still can’t believe I was there, but don’t worry, I recorded my reaction live for you.
You might not know this but the first time I watched Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. was when season one premiered. I struggled through the first episode and could not get over that Coulson was alive. Yes, I love the man, but how was he alive? He died in The Avengers. It happens all the time in the comics, but this was something I was unsure of in the MCU. Well, years later I ended up binge watching seasons one through four of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. – and boy had I been missing out!
