Marvel Studios’ Loki Is Everything Fans Of The Trickster Need

Loki, the God of Mischief, is back in his very own Disney+ show, and it is everything fans of the trickster want — and need!

Loki, the God of Mischief (Tom Hiddleston) is back — and this time he has someone opposite matching his wit in Mobius M. Mobius (Owen Wilson). Wilson is very clearly the costar here, at least when looking at the first two episodes of the latest Marvel Disney+ show, which were sent for review purposes. However, all of the supporting characters do a fantastic job playing their roles, and fans will be anxious to see how this show fits into the bigger Marvel Cinematic Universe picture.

It is clear from the start that Loki does not belong in the scared timeline, and his existence itself is an infraction of the law. It doesn’t take long for the Time Variance Authority (TVA) to track him down and take him in. Agent Mobius, however, sees his useful side, and thinks he can help in catching a criminal variant.

Hiddleston and Wilson are absolutely hilarious together. Every scene of their back and forth conversations prove that they play off each other extremely well. Surely a lot of that is improvisation between the two of them, and must have been a blast to watch on set. Viewers could watch their banter for hours and be thoroughly entertained.

But it is so much more than just banter, even over the course of just two episodes, there is a kind of respect growing, and a relationship that viewers are likely to see continue to evolve. The big question is just how close they will be by the end of the series, and if perhaps they will continue to work together at the TVA.

Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Wunmi Mosaku are both strong female leads that kick some serious butt. They are fierce and a force to be reckoned with, but in different ways. Where Mbatha-Raw is more subtle, but very calculated, Mosaku is more of the run and gun type of character. Both of them offer incredible supporting characters to the show, and bring a lot to the scenes they are in.

The first episode does a great job of world building, and setting up for what is sure to be an epic, and somewhat mysterious, first season of Loki. The second episode really dives into that buddy cop feel with Hiddleston and Wilson, while expanding on this part of the MCU, and bringing in a lot more action than the first.

Within the first two episodes, there are already some Marvel Easter Eggs to watch out for, and chances are there are going to be a lot more as the series continues. Fans of Loki will be very happy as he is everything that they love about him from the MCU – sassy, confident, and he still really does love to hear himself talk.

While there isn’t as much action as some might look for in a Marvel show or film, there is a good amount of it, and it seems like as the episodes continue, there will be more and more. Loki has humor, suspense, thrills, mystery, action, and every single thing fans want in a Marvel show. Be prepared though, the first two episodes end with cliffhangers, and the rest of the six episode season is sure to follow suit.
