WARNING: MAJOR FROZEN 2 SPOILERS ABOUT ANNA AHEAD.
Frozen 2 has been out for a week now, and I feel like it is time to talk about the fate of Anna. While in LA for the Frozen 2 World Premiere, I was also able to attend the press junket. Someone asked Kristen Bell how she felt when she first discovered the fate of Anna.
And the answer was everything I could have hoped for and more.
Let me just say that Kristen Bell is absolutely amazing. She made me cry more than once during the press conference. Just like these Frozen 2 emotional moments did.

“It Felt Exactly Right.” – Kristen Bell
When I watched Anna become Queen, my heart was filled with joy.
Sure this meant she would be away from Elsa in her day to day, but those two have a bond. And the fact that Elsa chose this path for Anna, meant so much more to her.
When Kristen Bell was asked about it, she seemed to have the same thoughts I did.
“I remember the moment that I found out that that scene was written. I couldn’t believe it and yet it felt exactly right. The way that it felt right was so perfect. If we had written it where Anna had wanted to be Queen, it wouldn’t have worked. That’s not Anna.“

She then made us all laugh as she went on to explain that Anna would never have thought to be the leader of a country herself.
“Anna the whole movie is working on her co-dependency. She doesn’t know what to do when shes alone. And I know that feeling very well. It’s real easy to live for other people and then when you’re alone in the house you’re like what do I do?”
“The fact that they wrote it as Elsa’s idea was this beautiful gift that matched Anna’s belief and drive in saying ‘Elsa, you’re ideas are crazy and weird and also I’m going to stand right next to you while you try to accomplish them.’ It’s this ultimate belief in people.” – Kristen Bell
In case you missed it, Kristen Bell also discussed how we don’t give our kids enough credit to cope with struggle. I wasn’t the only one she made cry, my friend Tania cried with Kristen Bell as well.

That Moment When Your Big Sister Sees Your Potential
One of the main reasons I love Anna and Elsa so much is that they remind me of my daughters. I know that I have said that a hundred times and I sound like a broken record, but it’s true.
And Jennifer Lee pointed out the beautiful meaning behind this moment. Where Anna felt like her big sister really saw her full potential.
“It’s also the big sister/little sister moment. The moment when your big sister sees you as the whole person and the potential that the little sister has. Risen up to a place of ‘I see your power’. Anna is a leader, and she’s the best kind of leader because of how nurturing and giving she is. She’s the one that lifts people up. And that’s the best kind of leader. Kristen brought that to Anna – it’s been in Anna from the very beginning, she just didn’t know it.” — Jennifer Lee
