I have never run a race in my life. My husband was a runner in high school though, so he is not stranger to them. I have always wanted to do a 5K or 10K – especially with Disney – so I was thrilled to learn about the Castaway Cay 5K that I could run while on my Disney Cruise! As tough as it was, it was actually a blast – and I was so proud of myself after doing it. I finished in 36 minutes, which I think is pretty good considering I was eating cruise food and enjoying wine for 6 solid days before it! I enjoyed it so much that I think I caught the running bug! I am hoping to do a run at Disney World next – perhaps the Princess Run?!?

Spring is almost here! We all know because we just lost that precious hour. If you have young kids like me, it could prove to be difficult to get yourself back in to the swing of things. I know we are always dragging for at least a week after we set the clocks forward. My girls and I are huge fan so the Ice Age franchise. I remember going to see the first one in the theater when I was younger, and now I take my daughters to see each new one as they come out. I was really excited to hear that Ice Age: The Great Egg-scapade was coming to DVD in time to be included in my daughters’ Easter Baskets! I just know they will be really happy to see that the Easter Bunny included a copy for them in their basket of treats. This is a short film (about 22 minutes) in the film franchise but still includes all your favorite characters! The DVD also includes a lot of bonus features that are fun for the whole family to watch.
My daughters love LEGOs. They love to build with them, to play with them, and of course, to watch the LEGO movies and TV shows. One of their favorites is LEGO: NINJAGO: Masters of Spinjitzu. My 5 year old especially has taken to this series. My husband and I really enjoy watching it with her as well. It is filled with action and humor – and it a great show to watch all as a family. We were really excited to see season six coming out on DVD. We love to binge watch our shows and this is a great way to do it. Not to mention, my daughter likes to take the DVD in the car to watch during long drives. This DVD is packed full with 10 episodes for hours of LEGO fun!
My girls love Daniel Tiger. It is one of our favorite shows on PBS Kids. I am a huge fan as well because they learn so much from him! Not to mention the nostalgia for me (it is based off of Mr. Roger’s Neighborhood). We were excited to learn that yet another new DVD featuring four grr-ific stories was hitting stores on March 14. In this new collection, Daniel rides a horse for the first time with encouragement from Dad Tiger, helps his sister Margaret feed adorable ducks, and plays “farm” with O the Owl. Viewers will have fun with Daniel Tiger as he learns how to help others, conquers his fears, and much more! We were lucky enough receive an advanced copy and watched it almost right away. This has some of our favorite episodes and was an instant hit with my girls – especially my 4 year old who just adores Daniel!

My husband and I are huge Star Wars fans – we even honeymooned at Disney’s Star Wars Weekend in 2009 and walked out to the Imperial Death March at our wedding. So when we were planning a family cruise, we just knew we had to take advantage of Disney’s Star Wars Day at Sea onboard the Disney Fantasy’s 7 day cruise. Star Wars day actually started the night before, when Captain Phasma showed up unannounced with some Stormtroopers to look for “rebel scum” that were hiding on our ship. That in itself was pretty amazing (and my 5 year old was a bit freaked out) but it only got better from there. There were so many amazing activities throughout the entire day. If you are going on a Disney Cruise that features the Star Wars Day at Sea, here are a few activities that you can’t miss out on!
Bleacher Creatures are one of my all time favorite plush companies. I have tons of them on display on the couch in my office and I love each and every one of them. I always get comments from friends and family when they see them asking where they can get their own. From sports players, to political influencers, to geeky ones like Marvel and DC Comics – Bleacher Creatures has thought of everything! I have never had an issue with mine, they are always well made – and totally adorable! I was super excited to hear that Bleacher Creatures is introducing two new sets of Bleacher Creatures – Teen Titans Go set 2 and DC Super Hero Girls! Both these shows are favorites in our house – so you know I cannot wait to add these guys to my collection!

When I was vacationing with my family in Disney World last November, we were lucky enough to see Moana a few days before it came out. We actually watched it on the beach at the Polynesian Resort – and despite being an uncharacteristically cold night in Florida, it is a great family memory of ours. We all loved the movie so much that my husband came home and immediately got HeiHei and Pua tattoos! We are also planning to get matching Mini Maui tattoos soon. So of course we were thrilled to hear that Moana was finally coming out on Blu-ray and DVD! It recently became available on Disney Movies Anywhere and Digital HD/3D. We actually rented it from a hotel when we were on vacation a couple weeks ago. But Moana is coming home on Blu-ray and DVD on March 7 and it is jam packed with amazing bonus features!
