My husband loves the original Newsies movie. So when we found out about Disney’s Newsies The Musical coming to Disney Movies Anywhere, we knew it was something we wanted to see. We were super thankful to be sent, not only a digital copy of the movie, but a family movie night kit to throw a great Newsies viewing party! It was a total blast watching the movie and celebrating in true Newsies fashion. I never dreamed my 4 and 5 year old would enjoy it as much as they did but they just loved the music!

Celebrating Newsies

This kit included a Google Chromecast, Newsies magnets, Newsies tote, Newsies poster, Newsies hats, Newsies CD, and even some sketch pads and sketching pencils! My husband has been really wanting a Chromecast so he was most excited about that. It was really easy to set up and within minutes we were watching Newsies on Disney Movies Anywhere! My girls were dancing around almost the entire musical and then afterwards, we all had fun drawing and sketching. I am not much of an artist, but my husband is – and honestly, so are my girls. This was probably their favorite part of the day!

About Newsies

Set in New York City at the turn of the century and based on a true story, Disney’s Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a ragged band of teenaged “newsies,” who dreams only of a better life far from the hardship of the streets. Captured live on stage at The Hollywood Pantages Theatre in California, and following its record-breaking, in-cinema premiere for Fathom Events this not-to-be-missed high energy event features Jeremy Jordan, reprising the Tony nominated role he created as “Jack Kelly.” Jordan is joined by original Broadway cast members Kara Lindsay as “Katherine,” Ben Fankhauser as “Davey” and Andrew Keenan-Bolger as “Crutchie,” and North American Tour stars Steve Blanchard as “Joseph Pulitzer,” Aisha de Haas as “Medda Larkin,” and Ethan Steiner as “Les” along with members of both the Broadway and North American Tour ensembles, filling the stage with more “newsies” and more dancing than ever before.
