My husband and I are huge Star Wars fans – we even honeymooned at Disney’s Star Wars Weekend in 2009 and walked out to the Imperial Death March at our wedding. So when we were planning a family cruise, we just knew we had to take advantage of Disney’s Star Wars Day at Sea onboard the Disney Fantasy’s 7 day cruise. Star Wars day actually started the night before, when Captain Phasma showed up unannounced with some Stormtroopers to look for “rebel scum” that were hiding on our ship. That in itself was pretty amazing (and my 5 year old was a bit freaked out) but it only got better from there. There were so many amazing activities throughout the entire day. If you are going on a Disney Cruise that features the Star Wars Day at Sea, here are a few activities that you can’t miss out on!

Whether you are traveling the states or the world – here are some great tips and items from Mama Smith’s for your travels!
Growing kids can stay rear-facing longer with the Graco Extend2Fit Convertible car seat. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends rear-facing until at least 2 years of age. We did this with both our girls (actually a little bit longer). Now you can keep your child safely rear-facing, longer, without scrunching their little legs thanks to this new car seat from Graco! The Extend2Fit Technology provides an extendable base that gives your little one up to five additional inches as they grow. This gives their legs room to stretch while keeping them rear-facing up to 50 pounds and 45-inch. Trust me, I wish we had this available when our girls were a little younger. My 4 year old is a peanut and could likely safely rear face in this car seat with no problems at all!
If you have not taken part in a fish extender gift swap on board a Disney Cruise, you are truly missing out! Here is how to make your own very easily.
In just 42 days (but who is counting, right?) my family and I will be going on a 7 day cruise aboard the Disney Fantasy. I was lucky enough to take my daughters and mother on a 3 day cruise on the Disney Dream last summer. I knew right away it was something we had to do as a family, and for longer the next time. We decided to book this one because it had the Star Wars Day at Sea, and we are HUGE Star Wars fans. Be sure to follow along my social media accounts while we are aboard (Feb 25th to March 4th) and come back here for tips, tricks, and more!
I have always dreamed of being able to visit The Walt Disney Family Museum because I am a Disney fanatic. So imagine how excited I was to find out that as part of the #RogueOneEvent trip I was taking to San Francisco in December, we would be going! I grew up watching Disney movies and going to Disney World for family vacations – and now I take my family to Disney World at least once a year. So this was going to be a really special experience for me – and it was. I laughed, I smiled, and I cried (I mean sobbed – just as Joyce from Women and Their Pretties – she was sobbing with me) while I was there.
If you know anything about me, you know I am a Disney fanatic. I mean, I bleed Disney. Recently, my family and I took our third Disney World vacation together and we decided to splurge. Thanks to some deals Disney was offering, we were able to book our bucket list hotel – Animal Kingdom Lodge. This hotel has been a must for our family since we found out about it. It is a bit pricey, but that is why we saved and took advantage of a discount. We just knew we had to stay there. It exceeded all of our expectations and I urge you to book your next Disney World stay there. Here’s why.
Family holidays are supposed to be about fun and relaxation. Most people don’t get much time off from work, making it important to have as little stress as possible when heading to their favourite destinations for the holidays. Unfortunately, traveling with children often makes it very hard to avoid stress, panic and emergencies all through the trip. Nobody wants to spend their holiday up to their eyeballs in stress. What are some good ways to prevent this from happening? We’ll lay out a few simple travel tips that can keep stress at bay when you’re traveling this holiday season with kids.
I have started traveling a lot more over the last year and I have begun to rely heavily on my luggage. Lucky for me, every piece of luggage we own is American Tourister. I used to have other luggage brands but slowly got rid of them as I received more and more American Tourister bags. These bags are not only really well made, they are also super snazzy. I cannot walk through an airport with one without getting stopped at leave five times to be complimented on it. My Darth Vader one used to be the biggest hit, but I have a feeling my new limited edition Rogue One Galactic Empire bag is going to leave it in the dust.
My family and I recently took a trip to Disney World – and of course no visit to Disney is complete without strolling and shopping down at Disney Springs. I love Christmas – and what I love most about it is the trees. I enjoy decorating my tree every year and so I was really excited to check out the Christmas Tree Trail at Disney Springs! This trail had 15 trees decorated like all my favorite Disney movies (complete with a Villain tree!).
This past weekend, one of my dreams came true. I went to Skywalker Ranch and LucasFilms HQ. I am a huge Star Wars nerd so this was amazing for me. The things I got to see – only a handful of people can do that. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience that I will never forget.
