Ant-Man and the Wasp hits theaters everywhere July 6th and I am BEYOND excited! I have always been a fan of Scott Lang in the comic books (in fact, I like him more than Hank Pym but SHHHHH! Don’t tell anyone!). If you are in to comic books (or even if you aren’t), here are some that I think are important to read before seeing this movie. Since there are two Ant-Mans in the comics, these will help you get to know Scott – and in one case Hank and Janet!

The day is finally here! The one that comic book nerds like me wait for to arrive every year – FREE COMIC BOOK DAY! I always say support your local comic book shop. These are shops that we need in our communities, and I don’t want to see them start disappearing. So please, head out to your local shop, pick up some free comics, and grab some other awesome goodies as well. The employees and owners are spending their time and effort for you today, even spending $5 would be a big help – so don’t just be greedy!

As I am sure most of you know, I am a HUGE Marvel comic book fan. Before I had kids, I was subscribing to at least 40 comic series a month. Once I had the girls, I had to cut back – it wasn’t even a money so much as a time thing. Recently, I started picking up more and more series. These are my current favorites that I think EVERY Marvel fan should be reading. If you have a favorite that is not on this list, please let me know. I am always open to adding more Marvel series to my list.

It is no secret that I cannot wait for Avengers: Infinity War to hit theaters on May 4th. I am a bit of a Marvel Fan Girl, in case you did not know, and have been counting the days for years. As a big comic book fan, I have seen this coming for quite some time. If you are not someone who reads comics, let me suggest at least five that you should pick up before heading to theaters. Trust me, this will help you walk in to the film prepared – but won’t give anything away!

In case you have been living under a rock, let me tell you that I am a bit of a Marvel fan. I love the comic books as well as the movies. I also have an insane amount of Marvel collectibles. As you might already know, the Guardians of the Galaxy are one of my all time favorites (I mean, hello, I have a full tattoo sleeve featuring them). Lately, they have been tossed around the comic book universe. What I mean by that is there was a short run by Brian Bendis, then another by Garry Duggan, which abruptly went from All New Guardians of the Galaxy #12 to Guardians of the Galaxy Infinity Quest #146 (still written by Garry Duggan) seemingly over night. Which is not entirely a bad thing, however, because man, is it good.

Black Panther is hitting theaters in February 2018 and is highly anticipated by Marvel fans everywhere. I am certainly one of those fans who is dying to see what Marvel does with this film. Admittedly, I am sad knowing that Storm won’t be in it – but thanks to that exciting deal being worked out by Disney and Fox, we might see her in the future! Wakanda is one of my favorite places in the Marvel Comics world, so seeing it become a part of the MCU is pretty awesome. If you don’t normally read the comics, but want a good background on the man himself, Black Panther, before heading to theaters in February, here are 5 books I think you should pick up.

This job is not all sunshine and rainbows. Yes, I have some amazing experiences, but I also have lots and lots of deadlines. Throw having two girls that I love more than anything – but that are becoming quite the little sassypants – into the mix and life can get stressful. Something that always relaxes me and resets my mind is coloring. I try to sit down and do this at least once a week. I just grab my favorite gel pens, and set aside an hour or so. My favorite adult coloring books are all Disney themed. They are relaxing and fun, so I wanted to share them with you!

Let’s face it, 2017 has already been a pretty good year for movies. Especially for geeks like me! I mean, Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2, Logan, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and now we have Thor: Ragnarok to look forward to. I know I have told you guys time after time, but I am am a pretty big comic book fan. I have been reading Marvel Comics since I was a little girl – and Thor has always been a favorite of mine. If you don’t know much about Thor and Hulk besides what you have seen in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), I encourage you to pick up these few comics to familiarize yourself with them more.

I am really looking forward to Marvel’s Inhumans coming to ABC in September. The Inhumans comic book series is one of my favorites and has been for a long time. The characters are all amazing and the story lines always have me hooked. Black Bolt and Medusa are one of my absolute favorite comic book couples. Now, I know many people out there don’t know much about The Inhumans. I put together a list of my favorite trade paperbacks that are sure to get you hooked on them – and also ready for the ABC TV Series!
