I love sweets. I like to flavor my water and I love baking cakes and brownies. My body doesn’t love that I love this stuff though. I did pretty good this week on Nutrisystem. I did go to brunch with some friends on Sunday, but other than that, I pretty much stuck to the plan. I did not get as much exercise in as I had hoped, but that is usually the case int eh winter. I get busy with my girls and we have to stay indoors, so there is not too much to do. Excuses, I know. But once this snow all melts, I will be going for walks with them every day which will be nice. I feel great about my body and I am still loving the Nutrisystem food.

Speaking of the food, five NEW foods arrived this week and I was able to test them out! Here is what I think of them:

Oatmeal Cranberry Bites – Breakfast: These were the perfect portion for breakfast. They were really tasty and went great with my morning coffee. I would eat these again and again, given the option.

Chocolate Biscotti Bites – Breakfast: I love chocolate so I was sure I was going to love these – and I did. I even dipped them in my coffee thanks for a tip from a fellow NSNation Blogger – and it was amazing! I ate these so fast, I did not even think about taking a picture. They are really good and are on my list of favorite breakfasts for sure.

Meatloaf & Mashed Potatoes – Dinner: If I am being totally honest. I did not like this one. I would skip it if you can. I usually love gravy and potatoes but these were too starchy in my opinion. And the meatloaf was lacking flavor. Maybe I am just spoiled by my mother-in-law’s amazing meatloaf.

Sesame Ginger Chicken – Dinner: This dinner was far better than the meatloaf one. I enjoyed it. It is not a favorite, but it is very good. I should say though, that I usually skip the sesame ginger chicken in general. It just isn’t my thing. So I can’t fairly judge.

Pizza Puffs – Dessert: These were really good. I ate them which sitting on the couch and watching a movie – and they are the perfect snack for that. The flavor was great and the portion was perfect.

I am really proud of myself this week on Nutrisystem. I stuck to it completely. Even at a family birthday party on Sunday, I skipped the cake and had a small portion of the macaroni and cheese they were serving. I only have a month left on Nutrisystem and I am determined to do my best. I have just over 5 pounds left to lose to get to my original goal. And honestly, I think that goal is almost too low of a weight for me. I set 135 as my goal, and I am 5’7. My doctor told me that she does not want to see me any lower than 135, and actually prefers I weigh around 140, which I do now. I would love to be 135 but that just may not be in the card for me. I haven’t weighed any less than 138 since high school.

I only worked out 4 days this week, but am hoping to work out all 7 this week. The weather is getting nicer here (finally) so I will be able to start taking walks with my daughters again. That will be really nice. Last summer we took several 1 hour walks a week. This week I tried two new lunch foods that I really loved! The Pepperoni Pizza Melt and the Broccoli & Cheese Melt. Both were so good! I was totally impressed. They were filling and just what I needed to change things up a bit.

My husband and I love to bake. Lately we have been involving our daughters in the process as they are getting old enough to help out. I recently received some really cool Easter items from Target Grocery, and one of them was the Little Lambs cupcake kit! This kit is perfect for some family fun around Easter. My girls were so excited about making “sheep cupcakes” and they did a great job helping with the baking and the decorating!

This kit comes with everything you need besides the perishables. The first step is to add eggs, vegetable oil, and water to the cupcake mix. Then just bake them and let them cool completely. Next you make the frosting by just adding butter and milk to the included mix (sure makes life easier!). Once your cupcakes are frosted, now comes the fun part! Take the mini marshmallows and place them all around your cupcake, leaving room for a head. Cut off about a quarter inch of each Tootsie Roll Midgee and then cut the smaller piece in half, making the ears. Stick on your head and ears of the sheep. Then add the candy eyes with a little dab of frosting to help them stick. You now have your own flock of super cute, delicious, Easter sheep cupcakes! These are the perfect Easter cupcakes!

These are also super easy to make yourself! Just purchase some marshmallows and tootsie rolls and bake your own cupcakes! These are a real hit for us every Easter and Spring – my girls love making them! We have only created them from the kit once – the rest of the times we did it ourselves.
