Hogwarts Legacy welcomes fans into the Wizarding World. It also seems that Hogwarts Legacy includes a trans character, the first in the world.
Hogwarts Legacy Includes Trans Character?
Hogwarts Legacy has many fans flocking to play, so that they can make a life long dream come true — going to Hogwarts and becoming a witch or wizard. However, the game is currently in a bit of a hot spot, with the extent of Twitch players being bullied, because of writer J.K. Rowling’s comments about trans rights.
It seems that maybe the creators of the game took this to heart, and used the platform to introduce Harry Potter’s first trans character. While they do not come right out and say it, assumptions can be made not only by the voice of the character, but because of the words she speaks.
“Hadn’t seen him in years when he came in a few months ago, but he recognized me instantly. Which is more than I can say for some of my own classmates. Took them a second to realize I was actually a witch, not a wizard.”
This character is the owner of the Three Broomsticks, Sirona Ryan. She is introduced quite early on in the game and is noted as extremely powerful. It is wonderful to see the first trans character in the Harry Potter franchise — even if it is not confirmed.
