Warning: Spoilers Ahead for Titans Season 3 Finale – Episode 13.

The Titans Season 3 finale kicks off with Rachel and Gar showing up to help Donna and Tim out when fighting against the Gotham PD. Tim has no problem stepping up and throwing down some sweet moves when joining the fight. Once they are taken care of, he is willing to say goodbye to the Titans and leave Gotham with his family.

However, after seeing what he did in the fight, his mom tells him that while his family needs him, Gotham needs him more. Yeah, cue the tears. This is all Tim has ever wanted so of course he huge his family goodbye, and decides to stay with the Titans.

At the end of the last episode Barbara was down at Oracle trying to find a way to get him to start workign again. Well the first time we see her in this episode she is still there, having not figured it out. V is being forced to lead some of the police down to her, telling them that they will regret it. Which they immediately do when she knocks them out in the elevator. Yeah, she isn’t who she says she is and doesn’t work for Gotham PD but rather for Argus. She tells Barbara it is time to save Gotham.

Barbara is happy to know that Dick is alive, thanks to the Lazarus Pit, and calls him to catch him up on V and Argus. He explains to her Crane’s plans, and then sees the T symbol on a building downtown. She is confused when he tells her it a nice touch, and then Crane cuts into the phone line. He tells Dick that he has 10 bombs ready to go around town, and he better find them all in time. Then he explodes the building, driving many Gotham citizens mad and killing them.

Remember when Conner showed his Lex Luther side last episode and destroyed Blackfire’s ship? Well the repercussions are not at all what fans expected them to be. Starfire is mad, like really mad, but Blackfire completely understands. She says that people like them have to do whatever it takes to get what they want, even if it isn’t the right thing. She isn’t sure if she is willing to forgive him yet, but she is extremely understanding of him. It does seem like he immediately regrets it, and feels bad for letting that side of him get the better of him.

The Titans all regroup at Tim’s place and are working hard to look for clues in the poems that Crane has left behind in place of the bombs. They want to track down the bombs before all of Gotham is destroyed but then it dawns on Dick — this is exactly what Crane wants. He wants them to play the game. He calls Barbara and she agrees, they need to stop looking for the bombs and break into the Manor in a way he is not expecting.

They make a plan to use the Lazarus Pit to bring the dead citizens of Gotham back. At the same time another group will break into Wayne Manor, and Argus will attempt to remote override the detonation of Crane’s bombs. Everything needs to come together perfectly in order for them to accomplish it — can they pull it off?

Starfire, Raven, and Blackfire head to the Lazarus Pit, hoping that their plan will work to save the citizens of Gotham who died in the explosion. They combine their powers to lock the water from the pit in a sort of bubble, and take it outside. Conner is there to blow cold air onto it, and start a storm.

Donna is also there and she uses the lasso to attract the lightening to keep it away from buildings. A purple storm starts to brew and it seems like it will indeed work. And at the end of the episode we see that it does, and those who died are brought back to life.

At Wayne Manor Dick tells Gar to turn into a bat and break into the Manor. It is the easiest way to pass over the guards. He isn’t sure that he can do it, but eventually agrees. Tim is also with them and they tell Gar how to disable the alarm system. Jason had set up the code to disarm — 42069 — and fans will surely get a kick out of that.

Jason has been let into the Manor, saying he saw what the bomb did and he wants to be there instead of on the streets when the rest go off. Crane says he can stay, but that they will kill him after he witnesses the end. Once Gar arrives in the Manor, he is able to quickly turn off the alarms. But not before they alert Crane and the Gotham PD that there is something going on.

That is when Jason turns on them, and proves he is back on the side of the Titans. He kills or knocks out the police officers, and rushes off to find Gar and protect him. Gar is surprised, but seemingly happy to see him.

Once all of the police are handled, they are about to head down to the Batcave when Jason says it is time for him to go. He did his part, but he doesn’t think anyone needs to know about it. This is a job for the Titans. He only wants Dick to make sure they all know he is sorry about the pain he caused.

Right before the team heads into the Batcave, Barbara and Argus are able to override the bombs and foil Crane’s plan. Tim is clearly awe struck by seeing the Batcave for the first time, but he doesn’t let that take away from what he has to do. Gar, Dick, and Tim confront Crane, letting him know it was them who stopped his bombs from going off. Tim walks right up to Crane and punches him, saying it was for Gotham.

Titans season 3 finale

The end of the Titans Season 3 finale sees Bruce returning and saying goodbye to Jason, who has decided to leave Gotham. He even calls him son and tells him that he forgives him, which is really heartwarming to see. Barbara asks Dick to stay and Dick asks Barbara to come with him back to San Francisco — but of course the two part ways, vowing to see each other again another time.

Conner has put a call into the man that runs that government facility. With his photographic memory he was able to create plans for a new ship for Blackfire to use to return home. They reluctantly say goodbye, but it turns out he is workign on a device that will allow Conner to breath on Tamaran — so it might not be forever.

Donna is going to Paris to see Dawn and deliver the message she promised Hank she would. After that, she isn’t sure, but V did offer her a job with Argus stopping the bad guys. The rest of the team is heading back to San Francisco — in an RV and bot the Batjet because Dick says it will be more fun that way. He then asks Tim if he wants to come with, and get the training he needs to become the next Robin. Of course Tim accepts.

Titans Season 3 Finale Episode 13 Review

Titans Season 3 is hands down the best season yet, and while it does wrap things up in the end, there is clearly a lot that can make fans happy in the future. AT DC FanDome it was confirmed that DC’s Titans WILL be getting a fourth season, which is extremely exciting. Hopefully this means a Tim Drake suit up, more Red Hood, and maybe even Donna working to take down more bad guys with Argus.

It is likely the Titans will be out of Gotham for the majority of the season but hey, after this Titans season 3 finale it certainly feels like the possibilities are endless!

This finale gave fans exactly what they wanted. There is humor, heart, some pretty great action, and even another Beast Boy transformation. Gotham is safely back in the hands of Batman, for now, and the Titans are on their way back home.

Crane is left in Arkham suffering with the endless nightmares that Rachel so happily passed along to him. The hardest part about the ending is that Jason has left Gotham. In the comics he stays Red Hood to fight crime his way so maybe the door is not completely closed on him. Only time will tell.
