Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl is a love letter to Aardman animation studios and these two beloved characters. It’s charming and hilarious.
There is a reason that people all around the world love Wallace and Gromit. They have a relatable dynamic, they are hilarious, and of course, the stunning claymation stop-motion animation is gorgeous. The latest film, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, continues down this path of fantastic movies that are something the whole family will love and appreciate.
Wallace has always been a great inventor, however at the beginning of this film, that is starting to get in between his relationship with Gromit. Vengeance Most Fowl heavily focuses on why sometime relying on technology is not a good thing. There are certain things we should do ourselves – especially patting our pets.
Feathers McGraw Is Back – And The Perfect Villain
After creating a robot gnome, who goes by Norbot, things go a bit off the rails, as they normally do for this beloved duo. Someone has been holding a grudge for many years after his plans to steal the blue diamond were foiled by Wallace and Gromit, and now just might be the time for revenge.
That’s right, fan favorite Feathers McGraw is back. He is the perfect villain for this story, and once again proves why he is so iconic. His slight movements and expressionless face steal the show, and are the reason for many of the laugh out loud moments.
A Love Letter To Wallace & Gromit
One of the greatest things about Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl is that while it is certainly a love letter to this world and the characters in it, it does not feel like it is all of that shoved down the audience’s throats. There are classic lines spoken, memorable character cameos, and quite a few references to previous Wallace and Gromit shorts and films – many things that will make viewers smile.
That said, there is still a great story with important lessons being told here. There are not Eater eggs added just for fan service moments, but rather everything included feels as if it is there for a reason. The story is fun and witty, while at the same time hopefully causing the audience to want to go home and spend time with their loved ones – without technology getting in the way.
Overall Thoughts
Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl is a love letter to Aardman Animation Studios and these two beloved characters. It’s charming, visually stunning, and absolutely hilarious. It is easy to see the love and attention that has been put into this film thanks to literal fingerprints on the puppets that are used to animate it. It is apparent that everyone who has worked on this film has given it their all, and that makes it all that more special.
Featuring important lessons about relying too much on technology, there is a lot to learn from Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl. While it can certainly be a helpful tool, there are many things that we can – and should – do without it.
