Hugh Jackman reveals which of the Wolverine variants in Deadpool & Wolverine was his favorite to play.
Deadpool & Wolverine is breaking records everywhere, rightfully so. It is meta, hilarious, and aunafraid to push the envelope and cross the line (over and over again). One of the best things about this movie is the massive amount of unforgettable cameos – including variants of both Wolverine and Deadpool.
Hugh Jackman returns as Wolverine, one of his best and most iconic roles. Ryan Reynolds, who plays Deadpool, did not have to be all of his variants because his character wears a mask, however Jackman was the face of (most) Wolverine variants.
He says that he had a blast with every Wolverine variant, but which one was his favorite to take on? When we asked him during the press conference, he was excited to reveal which one that was.
Hugh Jackman Reveals His Favorite Wolverine Variant
“I can’t imagine doing it any other way, in terms of the variants,” Hugh Jackman explains. “It was so cool. I was given, actually, on the very first movie, a thing which I had framed, which was a collection of images, like trading cards, but not cut up. So it was just a sheet of trading cards of all the different Wolverine variants. There would have been maybe 50 or 60.”
Hugh goes on to say that he has had that gift next to his bed in Australia, and he looks at it all the time. ” I just think, wow, the pirate, wow, the samurai. How can you pull that off? And all of a sudden this movie, I’m like, Oh yeah, tick, tick, tick, tick, not the pirate, by the way.”
He loves all the Wolverine variants, but as for a favorite? “I think Patch. There’s something about Patch that is a little internal James Bond.”
Deadpool & Wolverine is still playing in theaters, so do not miss it on the big screen.
