We’re All Going to the World’s Fair is a terrifying yet intriguing Creepypasta film that is sure to stick with anyone who watches it.

We’re All Going to the World’s Fair is a film that is sure to sit with any viewer for a long time. There are several reasons for this, the most obvious being that it is absolutely terrifying. However, this movie has a bit more than just horror to it. It is sort of a coming of age movie and it also touches on the effects of loneliness and Creepypasta legends.
As someone who has been raised with technology always on hand, I know that there is just as much bad out in the interwebs as there is good. This is the story of a young girl, Casey, who discovers an online horror game and decides to participate. She speaks the words and watches the video. Then things get weird. These are usually myths but this one seems to be having an effect on her. Then someone reaches out to her claiming that they see strange things in her video uploads and it just gets creepier from there.
I was completely on edge this entire film because things like this always get to me. They live in my head, much like with Casey. Something I love about We’re All Going to the World’s Fair is that sometimes music is used to intensify a situation… and sometimes no must is used for the exact same reason. There are moments of dead silence that had my heart pounding and my body shaking.
If the point of this movie is freak you out, well it succeeds. However, when you get to the end there feels like a more in depth meaning to it all. I don’t want to give any spoilers it was powerful and unexpected. Anna Cobb plays Casey and she all but carries this movie herself with a chilling performance. I suspect she has quite a future in the film industry.
Probably my biggest complaint about this movie is that there is an ASMR part that made me super uncomfortable. I am not a fan of ASMR so it threw me off, and went on for far too long. Although I guess that only added to my anxiety as I watched.
There are some disgusting scenes as well, for example someone digging around in their skin. I like things like this so for me they escalated the story. But be warned We’re All Going to the World’s Fair isn’t just scary and creepy — there are some gross moments as well. I often found myself shielding my eyes from the screen, which just made me enjoy this movie anymore. If you are into horror and suspense flicks, this one is for you!
About We’re All Going to the World’s Fair
Late on a cold night somewhere in the U.S., teenage Casey sits alone in her attic bedroom, scrolling the internet under the glow-in-the-dark stars and black-light posters that blanket the ceiling. She has finally decided to take the World’s Fair Challenge, an online role-playing horror game, and embrace the uncertainty it promises.
After the initiation, she documents the changes that may or may not be happening to her, adding her experiences to the shuffle of online clips available for the world to see. As she begins to lose herself between dream and reality, a mysterious figure reaches out, claiming to see something special in her uploads.
