Own BATWOMAN: THE COMPLETE FIRST SEASON on Digital, Blu-ray™, & DVD on August 18th! Warner Bros. Home Entertainment provided me with a free copy of the Blu-ray™ I reviewed in this Blog Post. The opinions I share are my own.

    batwoman complete first season blu-ray

When I first heard about the new Batwoman series, I was super excited. You just have to watch my trailer reaction and you will see. Then it was released and I just never had the time to sit and watch it. I was too far behind and decided I would wait for the Blu-ray™ release and boy am I glad I did. This show was an easy binge for me, and I really enjoyed most of it. I am a little bummed to know that Ruby Rose will not be returning for season two, because I thought she was great in this role.

I admit, it took a couple of episodes to really suck me in, but by episode seven, I didn’t want to stop watching. The plot is weak at first, but Batwoman really steps it up as the series goes on. The show may not be perfect, but it is captivating and entertaining, which is what I ask for in a superhero show.

There are some really great fighting scenes, and the overall feel is very dark and gritty — which is perfect for Gotham. If you have been following me for a while, you know that my favorite DC story lines are all based in Gotham. The dark and gritty is my jam, and Batwoman delivers that.

There were a lot of complaints online about having a lesbian showcased in this series, but I think it is just what the world needs right now. This show does a lot for representation and I for one, am here for it. Plus, I may have developed a bit of a girl crush on Ruby Rose while watching it. Just a little one.

By the time we get through a big twist and turn, and the season is almost over, I can definitely say I was hooked. Now I am very much looking forward to Batwoman season two. I cannot wait to see what direction it goes in. Is the first season of Batwoman perfect? No. But it is a great start to a series that DC and superhero fans are sure to enjoy.

About Batwoman: The Complete First Series

Kate Kane never planned to be Gotham’s new vigilante. After Batman disappeared, Gotham was in despair… until she returned. Armed with a passion for justice and a flair for speaking her mind, she soars through the shadowed streets of Gotham as Batwoman. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, she must first overcome her own demons before becoming Gotham’s symbol of hope.

    BLU-RAY & DVD FEATURES*

I am a bit fan of special features on home entertainment because I feel like they can really tie it all together, and even make you appreciate a show or movie more. The features on Batwoman: The Complete First Season do not disappoint! The deleted scenes are some of my favorite scenes of the whole season!
