The Umbrella Academy season two is finally available to watch on Netflix now and if you have already watched it, you know it is amazing. In my The Umbrella Academy season two review, I went so far as to say this season is better than the first. And after watching it for a fourth time, I stand by that.

While the whole season is a wild ride, the last couple of episodes really dive into something incredible. However, some things might be a bit confusing. What exactly just happened you might ask? Well, let’s deep dive into it! But be warned — there are MAJOR SPOILERS ahead.

Warning: Major spoilers ahead for
The Umbrella Academy season two.

I cannot stress enough that there are going to be major spoilers in this article. I am going to touch on several reveals that we get in the final couple of episodes of The Umbrella Academy season two. That’s right, this is The Umbrella Academy season two ending explained. So if you have not watched it yet, or don’t want to know any major spoilers, bookmark this and come back after you have binged it!

Reginald Is An Alien?!

At the very end of The Umbrella Academy season two episode nine, Reginald is revealed to be some sort of alien. Honestly this is something I never, ever saw coming. Sure, he was very interested in the moon and always acted like a horrible human being, but I didn’t know that means he isn’t a human.

When meeting with the group of men that killed JFK after he told them not to kill him, he clearly feels threatened. When he is told that they will reveal who he really is to the world if he doesn’t play by their rules, he literally peels his face off and attacks.

Is he an alien or just a superhuman with powers like the kids he adopts? I guess we don’t know for sure. Yet. Because that is the last we see of him in season two. I am sure we will get an explanation in season three though.

Lila Is One Of Them?!

Lila is one of my favorite characters from The Umbrella Academy season two. I always knew she was up to something. Her crazy seemed to be too much and she was stuck to Diego like glue. So honestly when it was shown that she is The Handler’s “daughter” and working for The Commission (or so she thinks) I was not surprised.

But I was totally blown away when she shows up with powers. The ability to replicate the Hargreeves powers. Sure comes handy in a battle against a whole family of supers. I mean, when she finished Allison’s “I heard a rumor..” sentence I literally yelled “Oh Snap!”. Still, my mind didn’t go to the fact that she was born the same day as them. At first, I was thinking The Handler did experiments on her.

Then it all made sense. Of course she ordered Lila’s parents to be killed. Then she could take LIla at a young age and shape her to be what she wanted to be. That Handler man, she is cold and calculated. Or should I say was?

Is The Handler Really Dead This Time?

There was a big shock at the beginning of the season when The Handler is revealed to be alive. I mean, she literally got shot in the head. At least she has the bullet scar. Of course, this season would not have been the same without her so I am glad she survived.

However at the end of the season she is mowed down by the last remaining Swedish assassin. Is she really dead this time? I think so. It would be crazy to try to bring her back from the dead in season three. Once is enough.

Harlan Still Has Vanya’s Powers?

It hurt Vanya to leave Sissy and Harlan behind, but Sissy is right. She cannot put Harlan in danger any more. Not again. However, Harlan might end up putting himself in danger as it appears he still has some fragments of Vanya’s powers.

If you missed it, earlier in the season when Vanya gave Harlan CPR, she breathed some of her powers into him. That is what was happening in episode ten when he didn’t know how to control it. With the Hargreeves back in their own time now, I am wondering if they will cross paths with Harlan, who hopefully has been able to keep it under control despite his disability.

Wait — Is That Ben?!

The biggest shock of all comes at the very end of The Umbrella Academy season two. Ben saved the world by talking with Vanya when she was stuck inside her head and then he went to the light. The Ben they know and love is gone. But I guess he isn’t totally gone.

When the Hargreeves transport back to what was their home, the timeline has changed. They did talk to Reginald in the past after all and explain who they were. Reginald has gone on to adopt kids with powers, but not them. Ben is number one and his photo hangs on the wall. Ben is alive and well. Just not the Ben they know. Also, the Academy is no longer the Umbrella Academy, it is the Sparrow Academy.

BOOM. Fade to black and we have to wait who knows how long for season three to come out to figure out just exactly what is going on. Seems to me like there is a totally different group of super kids. Honestly, this has me excited for more Ben because I was afraid he would be done after season two.

About The Umbrella Academy Season 2

Five warned his family (so, so many times) that using his powers to escape from Vanya’s 2019 apocalypse was risky. Well, he was right – the time jump scatters the siblings in time in and around Dallas, Texas. Over a three year period. Starting in 1960. Some, having been stuck in the past for years, have built lives and moved on, certain they’re the only ones who survived.

Five is the last to land, smack dab in the middle of a nuclear doomsday, which – spoiler alert! – turns out is a result of the group’s disruption of the timeline (déjà vu, anyone?). Now the Umbrella Academy must find a way to reunite, figure out what caused doomsday, put a stop to it, and return to the present timeline to stop that other apocalypse. All while being hunted by a trio of ruthless Swedish assassins. But seriously, no pressure or anything.

The Umbrella Academy comes to Netflix on July 31st!

Netflix loves pumping out one misandric show after another. Again, the father is bad, and a jerk, and evil, while mother is..... even Harlan's father is killed, without even a second thought. No remorse from the wife who was cheating on him. No sadness from his own child. The typical antimale/antifather misandry that is rampant in our media, and on Netflix.
