What’s Included with a Disney Cruise

One of the best parts about taking a cruise is feeling like you’re having more than one vacation, all in just a single trip. You only have to get settled into one room, and it becomes your home-away-from home while you explore various ports and onboard activities. But what’s included with a Disney Cruise, and what is an additional cost? The Get Away Today travel experts help spell it out below.

Catering to the unique vacation needs of families, Disney Dream staterooms offer comfort and style. A cruise industry-first for all inside staterooms, Magical Portholes offer a “window” to the world with a real-time view outside the ship. Entertaining, animated characters – such as Peach the starfish from the Disney-Pixar film “Finding Nemo” – may pop by the Magical Porthole. (Matt Stroshane, photographer)

What’s Included with a Disney Cruise – Stateroom

When you book a Disney Cruise, it probably goes without saying that your stateroom is included. But what’s so great about the Disney Cruise Line staterooms? Here are the included amenities in your stateroom, which may vary slightly depending on which ship you choose.

  • Custom Premium Plush Euro-top mattress
  • Frette® 300-thread-count, 100% cotton linens
  • Premium bath towels
  • 22″ LCD flat-screen TV on swivel arm, with remote-control
  • iPod® docking station
  • Full-length mirror
  • Ample closet space
  • Refrigerator
  • In-room safe
  • Hair dryer
  • Phone with voicemail messaging
  • Individual climate control
  • H20 Plus® spa, bath and shower products
  • WiFi (additional fee required)
  • A sitting area with a couch, TV and desk
  • A heavy privacy curtain to separate the sitting and sleeping areas
  • A “split bath”: a bathroom with a vanity, sink, shower and tub and a half bathroom with a vanity, sink and toilet
  • Elevated wooden bed frames for under-bed storage of suitcases and other large items
  • A leather-upholstered ottoman with hollow inside storage
  • Attractive yet functional cabinetry in the living area

When you sail on the Disney Fantasy or its sister ship Disney Dream, standard inside staterooms also feature interactive portholes. These magical portholes not only show real-time footage of what’s happening outside the ship, but you can enjoy visits from animated Disney Characters as well. It’s a fun little amenity that is exclusive to these two ships in the Disney Cruise Line.

What’s Included with a Disney Cruise – Onboard Activities

There are four ships in the Disney Cruise Line, so some of the onboard activities may vary slightly. But, there are still many of the same types of recreation included with a Disney cruise. For example, the live shows will be different, such as an Aladdin show versus a Frozen show, but you can expect to find Broadway-caliber performances on all the ships.

What’s Included with a Disney Cruise – Dining

Many people rave about the dining options on a cruise. There is a LOT of variety, and a lot of dining is included with a Disney Cruise! Something really wonderful about Disney is they have “rotational dining.” This means that for your itinerary, you are assigned a different restaurant each night. It allows you to rotate to the venues, with your servers, and get a taste of what your ship has to offer.

Dining Onboard

As mentioned, since there are four ships, the onboard dining options vary. Regardless, you’ll always have unlimited soft drink access when you take a Disney Cruise! You can enjoy beverages such as soda, juice, lemonade and even tea at no additional charge. Plus, no matter which ship you choose, you have complimentary room service. It’s great if you want to enjoy a snack in your room while a little one naps, or if you’re having a movie night in your room together!

Here’s a look at some of the dining options on a Disney Cruise that are included:

Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream

  • Animator’s Palate (rotational dining)
  • Cabana’s (can be substituted for rotational dining)
  • Flo’s Cafe
  • Eye Scream Treats

Of course, there are other dining options, but additional costs apply. If you want a Character Dining experience, be sure to make reservations as soon as you book your cruise; they can potentially sell out if you wait until you’re on vacation.
