My family and I recently took a trip to Ottawa, Canada for the Winterlude festival (more coming on that in a post tomorrow). Little did we all know that a part of the activities would be themed for SNOWTIME! – a movie that we had waiting at our house for us to screen from Shout Kids. I only wish that we had received it before we left so we could have been more familiar with it as we were exploring all the stuff they had set up. There were snowmen with the clothing and faces of the characters, snowball fight arenas set up, and they were even giving away pins with the title (in French) of the movie and the characters on it. My girls love theirs!

Last weekend my husband and I took our daughters to see Kung Fu Panda 3. We have seen the others (which we love!) so we expected the film to be pretty good. I must say, as we both walked out of the theater, we couldn’t stop quoting it! We were both blown away by just how amazing it was! Below are a few reasons why you should go see it.
My young daughters love animal films. That is why Air Bud Entertainment has become one of our favorite movie companies. All of the Air Bid films are so adorable – and they teach great lessons too. They are perfect for a family movie night! Speaking of family movie nights, we are super excited to be adding Monkey Up to our rotation now that it is out on DVD! It came out this week and I think it is a great kids film – and fun for the entire family! You cannot go wrong with Air Bud Entertainment, that is for sure! I don’t know about you but I am counting down the days until Zootopia comes out! My girls are super excited to see it, and you know I am too! We just took the girls to a movie this weekend and one of the trailers was for Zootopia and they were laughing the whole time. As soon as I saw that some new clips were released, I pulled them up on the computer to watch with the girls so they could see them before bedtime. My oldest is now talking about how she cannot wait to tell her friends at school about them. She even asked if she could bring some friends to see it when it comes out March 4th, 2016 and I say the more the merrier!
If your kids are anything like mine, they often create the most amazing drawings! There are so many things that my girls have drawn that I would love to see come to life – and they would too! When I heard about Budsies, I sat my oldest (4 years old) down and asked her if there were any of her drawings that she would like to be made in to a stuffed animal. After digging through an entire book of her drawings (yes, I am one of those moms that saves pretty much everything my girls do), she settled on her “mermaid carrying a bag of candy” drawing. She told me that she would be very happy to have mermaid sleep in bed with her and play with her.
It is the last day of the year guys – wow, did 2015 fly by or what? There were so many amazing movie and guess what? Plenty more amazing ones are coming out in 2016! One of those is Zootopia – and I want you to celebrate Zoo Year’s Eve tonight with the brand new trailer for ZOOTOPIA featuring the all-new original song “Try Everything,” written by singer-songwriter Sia and songwriting duo Stargate, and performed by Grammy-winning international superstar Shakira. It is incredible and the single will be available everywhere 1/8/16. Revered worldwide by herds of fans, Shakira voices Zootopia’s biggest pop star Gazelle who is a socially conscious celebrity with equal parts talent and heart. I for one, cannot wait to see her in this movie, she is going to be great!
We have taken the girls to several Disney on Ice shows before – and I grew up going to them every year – but nothing compares to the one that we saw last night – Dare to Dream. I have a sore throat this morning from screaming and cheering so much. I must admit, after seeing Frozen on Ice last year, I did not know how Feld Entertainment could top themselves, Frozen on Ice is an amazing show. But wow – the air performances in the Tangled part of the Dare to Dream show were just incredible. Flynn and Rapunzel are two wildly talented ice skaters, and I really enjoyed watching them. My husband, who is rarely impressed by the ice skating skills of these actors, kept nodding his head and clapping as they performed their tricks. When I saw “Rapunzel’s hair” come down, I thought they would do one or two aerial tricks but they just kept coming – and each one was more impressive than the last.
Since the moment I heard about Zootopia, I knew it was a movie that I would be taking my daughters to see. I was lucky enough to get the inside scoop and see some great clips (like the Sloth clip you can check out in the preview below) before others when I attended the D23 Expo and that just solidified my thoughts. When I took my daughters to go see a movie in the theater recently, there was a preview for Zootopia and after seeing that on the big screen, it has been all they will talk about. They cannot wait to go, and I promised them, when it comes out in early March 2016, we will be there. I personally cannot wait to go myself – I just know it will be a hit!
Hasbro is a name that I can trust when it comes to gaming, kid’s toys, and even TV programming. My girls love all things Hasbro – and I must say that I do too. My husband is an engineer by trade so he is really big in to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) learning. He thinks that these are all very important things for kids to start learning early on, and I have to agree with him. We are always doing little experiments with our young daughters and will continue to do so as they get older. They tend to really take to these types of projects when they involve characters that they already know and love – like the cast of Frozen. So of course we just had to get the Disney Imagicademy Frozen Science Activity Book from Wonder Forge for them. Now, this does state it is before for kids ages 4 and up, and I tend to agree. Although my 3 year old can do some of the things herself, and loves to help out best she can with others!
