While in LA this past April I was lucky enough to screen Disney’s 100th Original Movie – Adventures In Babysitting. I loved the original from the 1980’s, which this movie is based off of, so I was really excited to be one of the first to see it. I must say, I really enjoyed it! There was a lot of laughing, a lot of nail biting action, and even a few heart warming moments. I do not want to give anything away but I will say be sure to tune in when it airs on The Disney Channel on June 24th. That just so happens to be my daughter’s 5th birthday and she is a HUGE Evie fan (Sofia Carson’s character in Descendants) so I know we will be tuning in. What a great birthday present for her!

In this third exciting film in The Divergent Series, Tris and Four lead a team of rebels in a daring escape over the city wall—into a strange new world where they face a threat more dangerous than they ever imagined. Together, Tris and Four wage a furious battle for survival, fighting not only for their factions and loved ones, but for the future of an entire city in this dynamic, action-packed adventure. The Blu-ray and Digital HD releases feature an in-depth look behind-the-scenes with six all-new featurettes plus audio commentary with producers Douglas Wick and Lucy Fisher. The Blu-ray is encoded in Dolby TrueHD and features a Dolby Atmos soundtrack, which delivers captivating sound that places and moves audio anywhere in the room, including overhead, to bring entertainment alive all around the audience.

Finding Dory is currently the number one movie and brought in $136 million opening weekend – that is the highest domestic opening weekend for an animated movie! It is the sequal to Finding Nemo, which hit theaters way back in 2003 (and I remember going to see it in college). I had planned to take my girls to see it last weekend but a last minute travel opprotunity came up so we missed out. We do plan to see it this weekend – which is perfect because my daughter turns 5 this weekend. We have been watching available clips and trailers to prepare ourselves and Baby Dory has quickly become an a-Dory-ble favorite in our house!

I cannot wait to take my daughters to see Finding Dory! We have been waiting months and months for this movie to hit theaters and the day is finally here! I remember going to see Finding Nemo in theaters when I was in college (boy, that makes me feel old) and it instantly became one of my favorite movies. I have seen it more times than I can count and I just know that Finding Dory will become a favorite of mine as well. In order to celebrate I am bringing you some Fun Facts about Finding Dory as well as new printable activities including Search the Scene, Family Tree, and even an Educational Activity Packet! Enjoy – and go see Finding Dory in theaters this weekend!

A visually spectacular drama from director J.A. Bayona (“The Impossible”). 12-year-old Conor (Lewis MacDougall), dealing with his mother’s (Felicity Jones) illness, a less-than-sympathetic grandmother (Sigourney Weaver), and bullying classmates, finds a most unlikely ally when a Monster appears at his bedroom window. Ancient, wild, and relentless, the Monster guides Conor on a journey of courage, faith, and truth. Toby Kebbell plays Conor’s father, and Liam Neeson stars in performance-capture and voiceover as the nocturnally visiting Monster of the title.

Journey To Space has been so popular at IMAX theaters and science centers all over the country that Shout Factory has decided to release it on Blu-ray. Narrated by Sir Patrick Stewart (Star Trek), Journey to Space offers spectacular space footage and gorgeous views of Earth. This dazzling film shows the magnificent contributions made by daring space pioneers, and illustrates how exciting and ambitious NASA’s next era promises to be, including space travel to Mars and capturing asteroids. My oldest daughter is really in to space and my husband and I were really excited to share this film with her. She immediately took to it – and keep in mind, she is just (almost) 5 years old. We have watched it several times already and she has now decided that she wants to be an astronaut when she grows up.

I have watched the original Pete’s Dragon more times than I can count. It was one of my favorite movies growing up (and still is) so I was so excited to hear that Disney is reimagining it! I got to learn just a little bit about it when I was at the D23 Expo last summer but now the official trailer is out and it is incredible. There is humor, heartwarming moments, and you even get to see Elliot, Pete’s Dragon! He looks so awesome, guys! I cannot wait to take my girls to see it this August – I guess it is time to pull out the original version to show them.

When I attended D23 last summer, I got to see some information about Moana, a story about an adventurous teenager who, with help from demigod Maui, sails out on a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder and save her people. Dwayne Johnson even walked out on stage to talk about his character in the film, Maui. Those moments got me overly excited for this film. The teaser trailer is officially out and I am so excited for you guys to see some of what I saw. I just know this movie is going to be amazing. It hits theaters everywhere this Thanksgiving, so save the date! I cannot wait to take my daughters to see it!
