Love, Victor Season 3 Closes Out The Series Perfectly

Love, Victor Season 3 is the final season of the series and while it isn’t without it’s faults, it closes things out perfectly for every character.

Love, Victor season 3 review

Love, Victor Season 3 marks the end of the series, and while there are issues with this season, the ending wraps things up perfectly for all of the characters. What works so well with this season is that it takes the time to give everyone the ending they deserve. All of the characters go through some heavy things in Love, Victor Season 3, some more than others, but this allows each of them to get their moment in the sun — and their time on screen.

This season of Love, Victor is the finale season of the series, as it follows the group through their senior year of High School. While the show seems to have quite a large fanbase, these kinds of shows just run out of time High School ends. This season focuses on the completion of their journey through High School, and they all look to the future. Fans won’t get a flash forward at the end that explains where they all end up, however, which leaves the door open to interpretation, hopes, and even perhaps, a little bit more of Love, Victor to come.

Love, Victor season 3 review

For those fans have been thinking about the Love, Victor Season 2 cliffhanger ending since the moment the season dropped, have no fear, the first episode picks up exactly where we left off. Don’t worry, no spoilers here, but just know the reveal of who Victor chose truly sets the tone for the entire season.

Things are never simple for Victor, and this season, like the past seasons, he goes through a lot — but so do the other people in his life. There is a lot going on in Love, Victor season 3, which allows the episodes to completely fly by. Try to savor it though, because there are only eight of them and once they are over, so is the entire series.

Much like the previous two seasons, there are some heavy topics discussed. In the past there have been conversations surrounding miscarriage, discrimination, and addiction — in this season teen pregnancy and relapse are discussed. This might seem spoilery, but it isn’t — these are topics of conversation that take place throughout the season, not necessarily things that occur.

This show has always been about Victor, but this season it truly feels like it is about everyone in the cast. Lake, Felix, Pilar, Mia, Andrew, Benji, Lucy, and Rahim all have their own subplots to deal with — even Isabel and Armando (Victor’s parents) are a major part of the show. There are some newcomers as well, that are a very welcome addition to the cast. Each and every one of these actors does a fantastic job wrapping up their characters in a way that will make fans happy.

One of the most important topics for a teen audience however, is to not allow yourself to be in a relationship just because it is comfortable. Being brave, stepping outside of your comfort zone, and fighting for things even though they are hard because they are worth it are lessons everyone should take in.

Love, Victor season 3 review

There isn’t a lot wrong with this final season of Love, Victor, but there are some things worth noting. Certain storylines feel a bit rushed, and while yes, each character has their moment, there were a few that fans would have liked to spend more time with. However, with just eight half-hour long episodes to the season, there is only so much the creative team could do.

This season feels like there were several really good ideas for future seasons that the team really wanted to include, and in turn they were injected into the plot of this final one, and not given the time needed to truly explore them. This resulted in some unbelievable arcs and moments, and several truncated storylines. Luckily, overall things tie up in the neatest bow possible.

Even with some rushed storylines, the decisions feel true to the characters, which is important when coming to the end of series. As difficult as it is to say goodbye to these beloved people, fans will be able to smile at how things end up.

Fans that have been committed from the start, are likely to get hit right in the heart during the final few moments of the series. Everything comes full circle and, without spoilers, just get those tissues ready because you are going to need them.

The final season perfectly closes things out for every character. A bit rushed at times, and it feels far too short with just 8 episodes, yet it comes full circle. Long time fans will be left with a smile on their face, and a tear in their eye.
