Why Marvel Fans Loved the Marvel Booth at New York Comic Con 2017

Thank you to 3Decades3Kids for attending NYCC for Mama’s Geeky and writing this article.

Of all the booths on display at New York Comic-Con, our favorite was undoubtedly Marvel. While it may seem like a bit of a no-brainer that Marvel would be our top pick (given that we’re big fans of Marvel’s superheroes overall), choosing this booth as the best goes beyond our existing fandom. Marvel was a highlight of NYCC 2017 not only because of the iconic heroes and intrinsic good quality that have come to be associated with the brand, but because they took those things and utilized them to create a wide array of things for fans both new and old to see and to do throughout the weekend. Take a tour through Marvel’s booth with us, and you’ll see exactly what we mean.

The Gifted

The Stage

Like a beacon shining through the crowds of the Javits Center, the Marvel stage is one of the defining features of New York Comic-Con. This year, Lockjaw of The Inhumans was front and center, offering an excellent opportunity for selfies with your favorite cuddly intergalactic bulldog.

Marvel Day at Sea

Marvel’s stage was also host to plenty of activity throughout the weekend, including appearances from the casts of Marvel TV shows like Fox’s The Gifted, an interview with one of Disney Cruise Line’s captains for the brand new Marvel Day at Sea, and a demo of our next highlight, Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2.

Marvel Super Heroes

As we mentioned above, TT Games Head of Design Arthur Parsons showcased gameplay of the upcoming Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 on the Marvel stage– but that wasn’t the only way to check out the game this year! Marvel’s booth featured a full display for the Lego title, including large-scale models of some of the more interesting playable characters, like a cowboy version of Captain America! Visitors also had the opportunity to try out Lego Marvel Super Heroes 2 for themselves, more than a month ahead of its release on all major platforms on November 14!

Contest of Champions

Marvel NYCC Contest of Champions

While we’re discussing Marvel Gaming, we’d be remiss not to mention Contest of Champions. The popular fighting game-styled app continued to deliver fun and prizes for the brave, talented, and lucky. Those who tried out the game left with themed surprises like shirts, pins, and tote bags, and there were extra rewards for winning battles within the game as well.

As with Marvel’s approach to all of their products (whether movies, TV, games, or of course, comics) there was truly something for everyone at the Marvel booth this year at NYCC!
