6. Scream 3

Scream 3 is the worst of the franchise, but not a completely bad movie. It tries something new, making a horror movie within a horror movie as it is set around the filming of Stab 3. The big twist of this film is that there is only one killer, however that is what causes it to suffer — just a little bit. Scream 4 was a surprise entry in the franchise, as the films started off as a planned trilogy. The kills were upped and more bloody here, and the new cast that was brought in fit into the story well. It was exciting to see the series return unexpectedly, and the killer reveal is a solid one.

A new Ghostface is on the loose in Scream 2. Usually sequels try too hard to be the original, but this film did a great job of delivering a new take on things. With a completely shocking killer reveal — perhaps the biggest one of the franchise — this is a solid entry in the series.

Jenna Ortega was instantly branded the new “scream queen” and brought viewers back into the world of Woodsboro. Scream 5 was able to reinvigorate the franchise, and that should not be taken lightly.

Scream 6 ups the ante when it comes to the requels, prequels, and entire franchise. We have never seen a Ghostface like this before. It does its best to breath new life into the franchise while still giving longtime fans what they want.
