The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special just confirmed that Peter Quill has a sister, and you will never guess who it is!
Peter Quill’s Sister CONFIRMED In Guardians Holiday Special

The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special just confirmed that Peter Quill, AKA Star-Lord, has a sister — and you will never believe her identity. Fans were first introduced to Mantis as an reluctant accomplice of Ego’s, but it turns out she is more than that. Mantis is actually the daughter of Ego, meaning she also is Peter Quill’s sister.
The special starts out with an animated story of a Christmas past — when young Peter is teaching the Ravagers, specifically Kraglin, about the Earth holiday. When Yondu comes in, he is not a fan of giving gifts, as he thinks that Ravagers need to earn their keep. The team believes that Yondu ruined Christmas for Peter and since he is so sad about losing Gamora, they wish to cheer him up.
During a conversation between Drax and Mantis, it is revealed that she is Peter Quill’s sister. This is a secret she has been keeping, that she has only told Drax about it. He encourages her to tell Peter, but they veer off course and decide to kidnap Peter’s hero, Kevin Bacon, from Earth as a gift instead.
It is immediately following the opening song that Mantis reveals her father is Ego during the conversation with Drax. This makes Peter Quill and Mantis half-siblings. She explains the reasoning she does not want to tell him as “Peter’s father. Our father. Killed his mother and tried to kill him. I don’t want him to be reminded of that every time he sees me.”
In the end, Mantis does choose to tell Peter who she is in The Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special. After giving him what he says is the best Christmas ever, she tells him they are brother and sister through tears. Peter Quill then goes on to say that this is the best Christmas gift he could have ever gotten and the two hug.
So what does this mean for the future of the MCU, and specifically Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3? Likely it will be mentioned for those who haven’t seen the special. This is a big reveal for the MCU and will come as a surprise to many as this does not follow any comic book storyline.
While we aren’t sure what else this will lead to, we certainly can’t wait to find out!
