AvengerCon plays a big role in the new Ms. Marvel series, and when asked if we could get this in real life, Marvel President Kevin Feige says it’s not out of the question.
In the very first episode of Ms. Marvel, MCU fans are treated to something called AvengerCon. Of course this only exists in the Marvel Cinematic Universe — at least for the time being. This convention focuses on Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, the Avengers. There are panels, cosplay contests, and just an all around good time.
Kamala Khan (played by Iman Vellani) is someone that most Marvel Cinematic Universe fans can relate to, because she is just like us. She is a 16 year old superfan who is in love with all of the Avengers, particularly Captain Marvel. In the show, she creates her own Captain Marvel costume so that she can wear it to AvengerCon. We won’t give away what happens next, but just know that AvengerCon is certainly a sight to behold.
Can Fans Get AvengerCon IRL?
MCU fans everywhere will agree after witnessing it that we need something like this is real life. There is a Star Wars Celebration, so why not an AvengerCon? During the press day for Ms. Marvel, Marvel President Kevin Feige was asked exactly that — could we see an AvengerCon IRL (in real life)?
Feige admits that it is a discussion that has come up. “We were definitely talking about that on the on the set. We shot [Ms. Marvel] right in the middle of COVID protocol, so there hadn’t been a convention for a very long time. It was very cathartic for all of us to see that.”
He adds that some of the Ms. Marvel props will be making their rounds to the parks and other places, so that fans can at least go and visit the Ms. Marvel version of AvengerCon. While this sounds amazing, fans need more. So fingers crossed a real convention will not be long behind this.
Kevin Feige also shares that when Ms. Marvel was filming AvengerCon, they were actually doing so right next to the Spider-Man: No Way Home set. It just so happened to be when they were filming the three spiders scenes, so of course cast and crew did what they could to stop by and watch. After No Way Home wrapped for the day, Tom Holland himself came by the Ms. Marvel set to catch a glimpse of AvengerCon. It wasn’t just him though, Feige says that “a lot of that crew kept sneaking over to see, and attend, AvengerCon. So I think I might be fun to do sometime.”
Witness AvengerCon for yourself and see why MCU fans need this to happen when the first episode of Ms. Marvel comes to Disney+ on June 8th — trust us, you don’t want to miss it!

About Ms. Marvel
Marvel Studios’ “Ms. Marvel” is a new, original series that introduces Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero megafan with an oversized imagination—particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home—that is, until she gets superpowers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with superpowers, right?
MS. MARVEL will air weekly on Disney+ beginning June 8, 2022.
