I was recently invited by Marvel Studios to attend the #CaptainAmericaEvent. While in LA I was lucky enough to screen the upcoming movie Captain America: Civil War (so good – full review coming soon!) and interview some of the cast. One of those cast members was Captain America himself, Chris Evans. I am a giant Marvel fan, so this was heaven for me.

ABC’s The Real O’Neals is one of my favorite shows on television right now. So when I found out that I would be sitting down with some of the cast as well as the executive producers while in LA for the #ABCTVEvent & #CaptainAmericaEvent, I was thrilled! This show is great because it mixes comedy with serious topics. The O’Neals are a Catholic family where the parents are getting divorced, one son is gay, one son is anorexic, and the daughter is a bit of a thief. They have their issues but they stick together and stand up for each other often.
Have you been watching The Family on ABC? If you haven’t, boy are you missing out! The Family is suspenseful, action packed, thrilling, and just – well, it is amazing. It is one of my favorite shows on television right now because every time they answer a question, they throw three or four new ones at you. It is very well written and the cast is incredible. The basis? Well a family unfortunately loses their son (Adam). They suspect the pedophile neighbor had something to do with it.
As most of you know, I am a huge comic book nerd – so naturally, I was pretty excited when I found out I would have the opportunity to chat with Jason Mewes. You probably know him best as Jay from the Jay and Silent Bob films or Jimmy in the TV series Todd and the Book of Pure Evil but he is also the voice of Kit in the new movie Bling (available for free on Google Play until April 10th). To say it was an honor to speak with him is an understatement – I have been a fan of his for quite some time.
I have been dying to see Deadpool since the moment I found out it was going to be a thing. I knew right away that Ryan Reynolds would be the perfect Deadpool. I have read just about everyone one of the comics and Ryan’s quick wit makes him the ideal actor to play the Merc with a Mouth. But who would play the supporting roles? I was thrilled when I heard that Colossus would be a character in this film because he is one of my favorite characters from the comics. Something about him – maybe the love for his little sister or quite possibly his brute strength has made him stand out to me.
I am a huge fan of Disney’s Short films. One of my favorite parts about seeing a Disney movie in the theater is knowing that I will most likely get to check out a fun short before the film. They always amaze me because they are only around 8 minutes long (hence the name shorts) but they tell a complete story. Disney knows how to bring the feels! These shorts know how to make me laugh, and boy oh boy do they know how to make me cry. When I learned that Disney Animation Studios was releasing a collection of these shorts on BluRay/DVD I was super excited! My girls and I love watching them and having them at our fingertips to watch whenever we please is awesome. The DVD arrived about a week and a half ago and we have already watched it through at least 10 times. This collections consists of Frozen Fever, Feast, Get A Horse!, Paperman, Tangled Ever After, The Ballad of Nessie, Prep & Landing: Operation Secret Santa, Tick Tock Tale, How To Hook Up Your Home Theater, The Little Matchgirl, Lorenzo, & John Henry. While at the D23 Expo this past weekend I was lucky enough to sit down with some of the creators of these incredible shorts.
While in LA, I got the opportunity to sit down with the one and only Kyle Maclachlan. He is the voice of Dad in the new Disney/Pixar movie, Inside Out but you may also know him from Twin Peaks, Sex and the City, How I met Your Mother, and more recently, Agents of Shield. He is an incredible actor and his role in Inside Out is one of his top performances, in my opinion. I just love his character in the film – reminds me of my husband actually – total goofball! Several times his character had me tearing up as well – although I will not tell you when (no spoilers). If you have not yet seen Inside Out, stop reading this, run to the movies, and then come back and finish reading. It is that good – you need to go now!
While in LA recently, I was lucky enough to sit down and chat with Chrissie Fit and Jordan Fisher from Teen Beach 2. They play CheeChee and Seacat in the movie, and provide a lot of the comic relief in it. As you know, I also took a dance lesson from them (read about that here) but one of my favorite parts of that day was talking with Chrissie and Jordan. They are both so down to Earth and fun to be around – I felt like I was hanging out with a couple of good friends. I had just seen Teen Beach 2 so it was interesting to talk with them about it. There were a lot of good questions from my fellow bloggers – and I even got to ask one as well. Below is a video of Jordan & Chrissie answering the question “What kind of advice [do] you have for an aspiring Musician, Artist, Dancer?”
Emotions were running high at the screening of Last Days Of Summer. Personally, I have watched every episode of Phineas and Ferb that has aired over the last 8 years. It is (was) one of the best shows on television – perfect for families of all ages to watch together. I feel so blessed that I got the chance to watch Last Day of Summer, the special one hour Phineas and Ferb finale, before it’s air date of June 12th (TOMORROW at 9pm EST) and then sit down with the ridiculously talented creators of the show – Dan Povenmire and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh. (Who, by the way, voice Doofenshmirtz and Monogram on the show as well.)
