At CinemaCon 2026 in Las Vegas, Amazon MGM Studios reaffirmed its massive commitment to the theatrical experience, showcasing an ambitious lineup of films designed to lure audiences back to cinema seats. Following the major success of Project Hail Mary earlier this year, the studio made it clear that their theatrical strategy is a core pillar of their business.

Kevin Wilson, head of domestic theatrical distribution, emphasized the studio’s trajectory: “We said fifteen films by 2027 – and we meant it. But this is not about volume. It is about impact. We are building films that give audiences a reason to leave the house.”

While the highly anticipated question regarding the next James Bond actor remained unanswered, studio executives addressed the topic directly, assuring the audience that they are taking the process of finding the next 007 very seriously and are dedicated to finding the right fit for the iconic franchise.
