On the first day of CinemaCon 2026, Barco announced the following upcoming Sony Pictures titles will be released in premium HDR by Barco: SPIDER-MAN: BRAND NEW DAY (July 31, 2026), INSIDIOUS: OUT OF THE FURTHER (August 21, 2026), RESIDENT EVIL (September 18, 2026), JUMANJI: OPEN WORLD (December 25, 2026).

Spider-Man: Brand New Day
After the record-breaking global success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Spider-Man: Brand New Day marks an entirely new chapter for Peter Parker and Spider-Man. Four years have passed since the events of No Way Home, and Peter is now an adult living entirely alone, having voluntarily erased himself from the lives and memories of those he loves.

Out of the Sony Pictures’ presentation at CinemaCon, the release date was set for Taika Waititi’s Klara and the Sun based on the New York Times best-selling book by Nobel Prize-winner Kazuo Ishiguro and starring Jenna Ortega and Amy Adams.
Based on the bestselling novel from Nobel Prize-winner Kazuo Ishiguro and written and directed by Academy-Award® winner Taika Waititi (Jojo Rabbit), Klara and the Sun introduces audiences to Klara (Jenna Ortega), an Artificial Friend who wants nothing more than to find the perfect home. When Klara meets Josie (Mia Tharia), each immediately senses a kindred spirit in the other. Josie has a fraught relationship with her mother (Amy Adams) and they’ve suffered great loss, but Klara’s innocent wonder and unwavering loyalty begin to heal the family and bring light to Josie’s complicated world.

Marking his first English language film, Academy Award winner Takashi Yamazaki (Godzilla Minus One) will write and direct Bad Robot’s Grandgear for Columbia Pictures. JJ Abrams and Glen Zipper are serving as producers.

- Today, out of Sony Pictures’ presentation at CinemaCon, it was announced that PlayStation’s widely popular game Bloodborne is being developed into an R-rated animated feature for Sony Pictures.
- The plot is being kept under wraps.
- Bloodborne is an action role-playing game where a traveler journeys into a horror-filled gothic city full of deranged mobs and nightmarish creatures lurking around every corner. It has been praised for its challenging gameplay and richly layered world that players have spent years exploring.
- Considered one of the best games of all time by numerous publications, Bloodborne was developed by FromSoftware and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
