Thor: Love and Thunder End Credit Scenes Explained

Thor: Love and Thunder has two end credit scenes. One of them sets up for something to come in the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and one of them is for fun and fan service. So what are the Thor: Love and Thunder end credit scenes? Let’s explain.

First Thor: Love and Thunder End Credit Scene
(Thor: Love and Thunder Mid Credit Scene)

The first Thor: Love and Thunder end credit scene is going to blow fans’ minds. It has the first appearance of someone that has been rumored to be coming for some time now.

With Zeus being a part of Thor: Love and Thunder, it was widely speculated that this meant Hercules would be entering the MCU. Earlier in the film, Thor even mentions recruiting him, but he never shows up. Instead, Thor ends up killing Zeus with his own Thunderbolt.

When the Thor: Love and Thunder mid credit scene starts Zeus is alive, and speaking with his harem of women about how times have changed. About how those who worship Gods no longer pray for things like rain, but rather a chance to see their favorite superheroes.

He doesn’t like this at all, and says that the time will come when they fear the Gods again. The camera pans over as he sends Hercules to kill Thor, who is played by Ted Lasso star Brett Goldstein.

When will we see Hercules again? Hopefully fans don’t have to wait until the next phase of the MCU.

Second Thor: Love and Thunder End Credit Scene

When the credits finish rolling, there is a second Thor: Love and Thunder end credit scene. Towards the end of the film, Jane Foster dies. This is because Mjolnir was broken and that no longer gave her the power of Thor to live and fight the cancer.

When she was not wielding the hammer as a Thor, she was getting weaker and weaker because it was using her health and energy.

This Thor: Love and Thunder end credit scene sees her entering Valhalla. She fought as an Asgardian warrior and died on the battlefield, which earned her the right.

She is greeted by Idris Elba’s Heimdall, who fans will love to see back. He thanks her for looking after his son, and tells her that she is welcome to spend eternity in Valhalla.

These Thor: Love and Thunder end credit scenes are some of the best in Phase 4 of the MCU.

About Thor: Love and Thunder

The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced – a search for self-discovery. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods.

To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi) and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who – to Thor’s surprise – inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor. Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late.
