Global artist and singer-songwriter JAY B returns with his highly anticipated third mini album, TR.EE, a deeply reflective body of work exploring the evolving nature of relationships and the personal growth that blooms through human connection.
Built around themes of balance, flow, sway, afterglow, and growth, TR.EE uses the metaphor of a tree to illustrate how people—like roots beneath the surface—become stronger through movement, emotion, and shared experiences. As a tree sways while continuing to deepen its roots, relationships too are shaped and strengthened over time through countless moments, both spoken and unspoken.
Through warm instrumentation, smooth R&B textures, and emotionally grounded storytelling, TR.EE captures the beauty of connection in all its forms—longing, comfort, intimacy, vulnerability, and togetherness. Each track unfolds like a chapter in a growing relationship, revealing how people continuously shape and support one another through life’s changing emotional currents.
The album opens with “Hold onto My Back,” a gentle introduction to the quiet comfort of leaning on someone as bonds begin to naturally intertwine. Title track “Layback” follows with a laid-back groove and smooth vocals, portraying the warmth and subtle tension of two people growing closer, wrapping around one another like an embrace.
“Overflow” explores invisible attraction and emotional connection that persist even in silence, while lo-fi R&B track “One Call Away” captures the delicate distance within a relationship that feels simultaneously close and far away, centered around the comfort found in a single voice.
On “Time,” soft piano and EP textures underscore the enduring pull of connection even amid change, and closing track “We” serves as the emotional core of the album. ABOUT JAY B
JAY B is the leader and main vocalist of the globally acclaimed boy group GOT7, first gaining recognition with the group’s debut in 2014. He launched his solo career in 2021 with the EP SOMO: FUME, followed by his second EP Be Yourself in 2022, which reached No.1 on the iTunes Top Albums Chart in 34 countries and regions. Following the completion of his military service, he released his first full-length album, ‘Archive 1:Road Runner’. Between 2024 and 2025, he further cemented his global presence with his solo world tour TAPE: RE LOAD, performing across Asia, Europe, and South America. In addition to his music career, JAY B has collaborated on editorial features and photo shoots with leading international publications, including Vogue and Numéro Thailand. Alongside his solo career, he remains active with GOT7 through album releases, concerts, and broadcast appearances. Under the alias “Def.”, he has written and composed numerous tracks for both group and solo projects, establishing himself as a versatile singer-songwriter.
