Sasha Lane Weighs In On Cut Twisters Kiss
Glen Powell and Daisy Edgar-Jones filmed a kiss for the end of Twisters, however it did not appear in the film. This has caused a major controversy among viewers.
When asked how she feels about the kiss, Sasha remarks, “It’s funny. I went in thinking they were going to kiss, because I knew that they were filming that scene.” She continues, “Then, just when they’re building up and we are watching the end of the film, the fact that they don’t, I was like, Ah, well, played.”
“I agree with it not being that moment. I don’t think there always needs to be that. I know people are disappointed, but that’s just because they want to see people kiss, but I’m like, I like that. They’re like, wait, we actually, we can do that later.”
One of the most iconic still images to come out of Twisters is Lily flying up in the air as Tyler holds onto her, stopping her from being sucked into the tornado. We asked Sasha about filming this scene, and she shared a fun anecdote.
“I love the idea of being on a harness. I love the idea of doing any type of stunt. I will say a part of me is like, really, y’all had to play me like that?” She goes on to explain how she was having so much fun, she ended up not doing what she was supposed to during rehearsal.
“We were doing the stunt, rehearsing it, and I was having such a good time that I forgot that I do physically need to grab onto him. And I just flew up and they had to catch me. I was like, Seriously, Glen, please grab me. So I actually very much did rely on him to reach out so I would remember and stop having fun.”
“There was a stage behind me, and so I just remember looking up and had to tuck my feet, and the guy caught me, and I was like, Oh, my God, I need to be in the moment. I’m just having too much fun.”

About Twisters
This summer, the epic studio disaster movie returns with an adrenaline-pumping, big-screen thrill ride that puts you in direct contact with one of nature’s most wondrous—and destructive—forces.
From the producers of the Jurassic, Bourne and Indiana Jones series comes Twisters, a current-day chapter of the 1996 blockbuster, Twister. Directed by Lee Isaac Chung, the Oscar® nominated writer-director of Minari, Twisters stars Daisy Edgar-Jones (Where the Crawdads Sing), Glen Powell (Top Gun: Maverick) and Anthony Ramos (Transformers: Rise of the Beasts) as equal forces, with opposing motivations, who come together to try to predict, and possibly tame, the immense power of tornadoes.
Edgar-Jones stars as Kate Carter, a former storm chaser haunted by a devastating encounter with a tornado during her college years who now studies storm patterns on screens safely in New York City. She is lured back to the open plains by her friend, Javi (Ramos) to test a groundbreaking new tracking system. There, she crosses paths with Tyler Owens (Powell), the charming and reckless social-media superstar who thrives on posting his storm-chasing adventures with his raucous crew, the more dangerous the better.
As storm season intensifies, terrifying phenomena never seen before are unleashed, and Kate, Tyler, Javi and their crews find themselves squarely in the paths of multiple storm systems converging over central Oklahoma in the fight of their lives.
