Rogers the Musical is now playing at Disneyland and it is more than worth checking out. Made for both Marvel fans and theater kids!
Rogers the Musical is now playing at Disneyland California Adventure and it is a must watch if you are a Marvel fan or a theater kid! There is so much to love about this incredible thirty minute long show.
Rogers The Musical For Marvel Fans
When Hawkeye featured Rogers The Musical, Disney Parks knew they had something they could roll with. And they did just that. Taking the “Save The City” song that was shown in the Marvel series, as well as the song from Captain America: The First Avenger, they created an larger stage show. Knowing that the name was already established, Rogers the Musical, it was clear they needed to focus on Steve Rogers’ story.
Who doesn’t love a good underdog story? Combine that with a love story and you get Rogers The Musical. In thirty minutes the audience goes on Steve’s journey along with him. There are Marvel Easter Eggs, massive song and dance numbers, hilarious jokes, and even quite a bit of heart. If you don’t already love the Star Spangled Man, you certainly will after taking in this show.
This show is very much for Marvel fans. It is filled with things that will have them squealing with joy. Even though these fans know Steve’s story, it is something special to see it performed in this way. Nick Fury sings and raps — what else could fans ask for?
Marvel Easter Eggs In Rogers The Musical
There are several Easter Eggs sprinkled throughout the show. Of course, you should watch the performers, but if you take a second to look at the set pieces there are many signs that will have Marvel fans excited. It should come as no surprise that there is a Stan Lee tribute in Rogers The Musical, but there are also several more.
Trust A Bro Moving Company, which is owned by the tracksuit mafia that we saw in Hawkeye has a sign on display. There is a mention of chimichangas, which Deadpool fans will know is his favorite food. World Exposition of Tomorrow is also advertised in the background.
There are lines in the songs that relate to key moments in the MCU, including “end of the line”, “I can do this all day”, “snap”, and more. These mentions are sure to bring a tear to Marvel fans’ eyes.
Also For Theater Kids
This show isn’t just for Marvel fans, though. Theater kids are going to have just as much fun with it. The performers are at the top of their game. They really give their all in Rogers The Musical. Their voices are beautiful, their dance moves are on point, and the way they do their best to embody what these characters mean to so many is commendable.
The story itself might fly by in thirty minutes, but it very much feels like a stage production. The behind the scenes team seamlessly makes set changes, while viewers are kept occupied by songs or announcements on the old timey radio that sits on the stage.
Rogers the Musical tells a hero story, a love story, and is entertaining from beginning to end.
Ties Into The MCU
Marvel never does anything by accident. Marvel President Kevin Feige has a plan, and Rogers the Musical is no different. This isn’t just showing at the parks for fun, it also ties into the greater Marvel Cinematic Universe. We see old Steve Rogers, who was shown at the end of Avengers: Endgame. He has a major role in the story and performs a heartfelt song with the younger version of Steve.
There is mention of MCU events and characters. We even get a glimpse of Sam Wilson as Captain America. It is clear that a lot of thought and consideration went into making this show what it is.
As of now, Rogers the Musical is only slated to be playing until the end of August 2023. In order to guarantee your spot to see it, you must join the virtual queue. This could change, but at the time of writing, that is the only way to see it.
This show is more than worth spending an hour of your day at Disneyland / California Adventure watching it and getting seated. You don’t want to miss it!
